I've only seen him in one scene so far, but this might be the coolest Cid in the franchise. I can't wait for him to pop up again and see how he influences the story.

I'm about 8 hours in and really, really loving this game. I'm SO glad this isn't a typical love-story based game like the previous FFs... those were great but this was just what I wanted, a nice meaty game with darker and more realistic undertones. Between FFX and this, X feels like sweet fluffy cake and XII feels more like a big thick steak. Both good, just different flavors.
Maybe it's because I'm so used to grinding but I keep wanting to go out and farm gil XD I also find it funny how shield takes 0 damage in 12, like the old shield system in 11. And after running through Ule range and other crappy places avoiding aggro in this game is second nature...


Last of all Balthier and Basch are totally fangirl material.

Yeah, but at the same time a complete lack of romantic undertones, even as a mild aside in one place/time is kind of as annoying to me as over the top soppy-ness/lovey stuff. Aside from that, however, the story is amazing.

Last of all Balthier and Basch are totally fangirl material.

NPC says it's really sensitive to humes. So I try walking around with only Fran.
I didn't even see it anywhere >_<

People, PLEASE stop posting spoilers without spoiler tags. The game was just released, and there are a lot of people out there who will have their experience ruined because of inadvertent spoilers.

Sorry Icemage, talking about a mob that has nothing to do with the story did not seam like a spoiler anyways. If you think about it, neither was that picture that Jei posted cause the characters that would be "spoiled" were in the character list in the game manual.

I went to the eastern area and could not find him, then I zoned to the village and went back to the east and he quicly kicked my ass. I think that it is just random

I would not go so far as to say mancrush, but he is defentaly my favorite. His remarks are so perfect, reminds me of a cross between Han Solo and Wash from Firefly.

I would come back for him if you aren't maybe 15+. he links all his kids and they wiped out my party of lvl 11s in no time flat

I think the game is pretty good so far. Its a lot of grind though. P.S. for making gil go back to the mines where your went looking for penelope. On the second bridge section skeletons will continously pop up till a chain of 43 or so. Best thing to do is just go out there, steal from every pop and by the time you get done you'll end up with around 70+ bone chips selling for 193 gil a piece. I made 20k fairly quickly, not to mention had LP points out the butt to boot.

Some naysayers have been saying the plot is weak and the game is too short story-wise which was getting me worried I can't wait to get it finished now lol. I really hope it -is- amazing right to the end XD Does anyone who has played the whole game have any idea?

I'm guessing all those fanfic writers are probably happy about the lack of romantic undertones so they can add some of their own in then.

It's not that it doesn't have a plot. It' just doesn't have another Tired Final Fantasy Romance plot. It's got tons of things happening in it's plot. I'd say it's has a way more fleshed out plot than most of the FF's released in the last 5-6 years. It's also easy to understand, dark and compeling, and smartly paced. Unlike all the others that followed the tired old. First it's this guy who you think is the bad guy, and there's this chick that sort of likes you, then you find out who the real bad guy is, and your in love with this chick, enter ambiguous romance ending. Hmm 7, 8, 9, 10 all 4 with the same plot chemistry. Yah, I got bored of it.

Is it me or do I lose to every boss atleast once, before I finally figure out a good gambit strategy. Any else loving this challenge? I know I am.

Jei, to spawn the Cluckatrice NM you have to clear the area it appears in (the one directly southeast of the nomad village). Zone back to the village once all the Hounds, Rabbits and Birdmen are dead, buff up and heal yourself at the save crystal, then zone back.

Be careful though, I can't beat this thing yet. It's pretty damn strong, and has a bunch of its chicks fighting with it. Be prepared for constant petrification and have spells like Immobalize and Disable ready.
