Re: Wii Release Date, Price and more

Oh boy. I was thinking as getting it as my secondary system, but at $250? No thanks. I know it is going to kill me to not play Zelda when it is released, but I'll just have to live with it. All the other games seem too gimmickey with the WiiMote, and I'm just not willing to put down another two fifty down. I'll just wait for a price drop, and put my hard earned cash to an upgraded HT Sound System instead.

        Thanks for the sig, Selphiie!!

9:33 EST: Reggie takes stage again. Says Wii Tennis Wii Golf, Wii Baseball, Wii Bowling and Wii Boxing are all included in the Wii Sports disc. Calls it a five-game compilation. "This is designed to get everyone involved playing." Game will be packed with Wii. Everyone'll get it when they buy the system.

"We'll also offer consumers the widest range of launch titles ever in the history of videogames. The list is big and -- as you'll see -- it's new and nostalgic. Unique. Delivering a brand new type of entertainment."

Talks about The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Says they'll have Excite Truck ready for Wii launch.

"With Wii sports, these titles represent a fantastic trio..."

"First time we have a Zelda title available on launch day. It gives us a huge boost and huge momentum right out of the box. It's a masterpiece game. We will continue to make those big masterpiece titles for the core gamer, as well as new games to drive market expansion."

"If you were to play Zelda all day to day for six hours, you'd only be scratching the surface..."

            http://wii.com/

has info (and Videos!) about the extra stuffs, plus Hardware stuffs, game info and what-not.

More info about Metriod 3: New control scheme added to make it so it plays much more like an FPS with very fluid motion. Reportedly a lagre improvment over the E3 demo.

Also, like the DS, Nintendo Wii Wifi is free.

Re: Wii Release Date, Price and more

Backwards compatibility with the Game Cube is a massive plus for this console, just replaying the Resident Evil's for the GC would make it worth it.

And now I can't believe I'm actually considering buying it while I get a PS3...in a year or so depending on how good Sony gets with production times.

Edit> Never mind hopefully I was wrong and games for the PS3 will be region free, phew.

              Edit2> But aparently the region code from PS and PS2 games will remain so forget about buying japanese PS2 games ; ;

Re: Wii Release Date, Price and more

I'll possibly be getting the Wii sometime early next year depending on it's game line-up and how well the reviews are for it. I'm still a little apprehensive about the Wii-mote though. I doubt I'll like it. Hopefully they'll release Mario game I'll actually play because something about Mario Sunshine made me not want to play it. Come on Nintendo, make a good Mario game like you used to. *hintSMB1&3andMario64hint*

[rant] Yesterday, I heard about Nintendo releasing Twilight Princess on the Wii before the GC. I can't explain how pissed off I was because I know that this is just a gimmick by Nintendo to sell more of it's new system since some people will be too impatient to wait for the GC version of TP. I'll be waiting for my GC version since I've been waiting on it for nearly 2 years and it's what I reserved it for. It's a GC game plain and simple and it's not a Wii game. [/rant]

Another huge plus for me is the use of the DS as a wireless controller as well as playing the DS games through the Wii.

PS3 games is sort of region free. It's an optional switch. So it will depend on developers to use it or not.

But it allows say US/NA/EU game all on one blueray disc is so choosed.

I'll have to check out what games Wii has down the line. At this point every game is in "gimick" mode. Swing a sword, shoot a gun, swing, etc.

I play ddr with a pad doesn't mean I would play busido blade with a pad(I tried, and almost broke it, though it was fun for the 1st half hour).

The games down the road will show how much robust-ness the Wii will have.

Re: Wii Release Date, Price and more

From the currently looooong list of games, I looked through and only able to pick a few out that I'm interested to play. I too think there's too little interesting games coming out. But those few are so hard to resist....

Games I REALLY want to play
                        Zelda
                        Fire Emblem
                        Biohazard (resident Evil)
                        Gundam
Konami's soccer game (new winning eleven? no names decided yet)

                        Some ok games

                        Dragon Quest Swords
                        Super Mario Galaxy
                        Harvest Moon
Eye seal 21. this is a really fun american football manga.

hmm about 10 out of 100...

Yeah, and I love it... it's really fun.

No interest in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption? Other than that, I agree with your list.

I think I'll actually buy the Gamecube 1.1 since I didn't buy the original Gamecube, there's some games on there that I've been wanting to play (Tales of Symphonia, I mean you.) and some of the Wii titles look promising, and this is just the system launch.

Do you have a PS2? If so, you know they released Tales of Symphonia for it too, right?
