    Does anybody ever wonder if Link ever got some poon from Zelda?

    I mean, he did save her life like fifty gazillion times, you'd think she'd reward him with something worthwhile.

    Maybe this whole Zelda getting kidnapped, and being saved by the hero thing is just a kinky fetish bit that they play to keep the relationship strong?

    Makes one wonder.

      Nintendo has announced the price point for its new living-room console, the Wii, which will be launched globally in Q4 2006. Although for now the pricing is not exact, it will not exceed $250 in America or 25,000 yen in Japan. No estimate was announced for the European market, but the indication given was that it would be a "similar, affordable price."

          Now while I will be buying a PS3 for FF... FF and Gran Turismo are really the only reasons I bought and stuck with Sony in the first place.

          I will happily Enjoy my Wii, and one day when Microsoft does something other than hold Mechwarrior and Halo hostage from us PC users, I may jump on thier bandwagon and support all 3.

            This thread is rising of tone.... anyway. We all have our divided opinions and we all support what we think it is best.

            For me, it is simple, I am a Sony fan, and I admit that I will think twice before buying any of the consoles. I dont play as much as I used to. I currently have all 3, and I havent touched my xbox and my Gamecube in at leat 6 months! I think my Interestet in games is narrowing to a select variety. I do have plans however, to finish (someday) Windwlaker, Resident Evil 4, Knights of the old republic etc.

            I dont know if this is a general "symptom" but playing FFXI keeps me away from other games. I have been trying to PLAY FFX2 and i am at 47% so far.

            Ayway, back to the topic. The only reason I hesitate in supporting the xbox, is that I do not want Microsfot to dominate and eventually monopolize the gaming industry. Competition and Variety is good for the industry and for consumers.

            Nintendo has personally let me down, and they are the copany who MOST abuses the recycling of brands, characters and names. Nitendo is basicaly Mario, Zelda and Pokemon. And in my eyes it is targeted for a much younger audience. This once again is just my opinion.

            I think I will buy a PS3 (who am i fooling , i know I will) and I will eventually might buy a wii for its "classics" basically for zelda.

                Thank you TGM.... I am glad you also noticed the change of tone in this thread. It is very important to always respect other people's points of views.

                Anyway.... My bet is on the PS3 and BR player. I personally still do not like the idea and concept behind the Wii, but some of its games look interesting.

                  I'm sorry, but you really picked the wrong points to bring upabout with Sony.

                  INTENTION of going online does nothing. I bought into all that bullsit about being able to go online with the PS2. Remember they were even going to release a monitor and keyboard to accompany it?

                  FACT: It didn't happen, it disappeared and nobody hear a thing about it ever again.

                  Hard Drive in every system eh? And tell me, what games utilize the PS2 HDD? TWO. RE online, to make loading quicker, and FFXI, the ONLY game that really utilizes it. Can you store music and stream it while playing games? NO. Can you use it for game saves and the like? NO. Can you download arcade games to it and play it off the hardrive? NO.

                  FACT: PS2 HDD was a failure. It failed so much that Sony stopped it's production and didn't care that their new thin PS2 design can't support it, leaving people who bought it with a $100 add-on that is only used for a SINGLE game.

                  Um, Eye-Toy was released by Sony, true, but tell me how many games use it? What innovative new ways have they used it? All you can play is the crappy mini-games that come with it. Can you have a videophone conversation with your buddies? NO. Can you take pics of yourself with it and map your face to in-game characters? NO. Can you do ANYTHING with it that is remotely innovative, fun, interesting and doesn't make you look like a retard? NO.

                  FACT: Eye-Toy failed. Might have been something special if Sony actually put it to use, but that's Sony for you, they say one thing but do something else.

                  Xbox's camera will actually be USED for things. I can already talk to my friends over X-Live, now I'll be able to see them too. There a whole list of features that will be utilized when the camera hits because they are upgrading Xbox-Live service to incorporate it. I don't know exactly what will happen, but I DO know that it already has much more promise than the Eye-Toy.

                  You said not to make opinions into fact and all your "facts" seem to be opinions and half-truths.

                  I'm not against any system, I'm for all of them and console gaming in general, and I don't try to fool myself into thinking that ANY of them are perfect.

                  EDIT: I hate how shooter-centric Xbox has become, how Sony promises something then either underdelivers or gets amnesia and forget what they promised and how Nintendo rehashes every single franchise it has every damn year. Sure it's innovative/fun, but jeez, WHY IS THAT PLUMBER EVERYWHERE, EVEN IN SPACE TOO!?

                    Here's my scoop on each system:

                    Xbox 360- I hated the normal Xbox, it just didn't appeal to me. Plus you have to pay to play, which I already do with FFXI, which is more worth it than any other Xbox/360 game.

                    Wii- Uh.. No. I quit Nintendo right around the time of Gamecube. I'm happy with my N64 emulator.

                    PS3- I voted for it, but here's some official info, which makes me not want it now:

                    1. The PS3's gonna cost FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS. That's only for the watered-down version, the real deal's $600.

                    2. With that crazy price tag, the PS3 still is going to lack features Sony said it would have.

                    3. There's a possibility now that online play's gonna cost money. If not, some things definitely are.

                    4. NO F$$@@$% RUMBLE FEATURE IN THE CONTROLER ANYMORE! They had to ditch it so they could steal the Wii's motion range crap, which I'm not interested, at all, I don't need the carpal tunnel.


                    So if I could choose one to get for free it'd be PS3, but they really dropped a bomb with this new crap- I mean info.

                      That's not the reason they ditched the rumble feature. There was a lawsuit against sony for stealing the rumble feature from someone else.

                        I didn't read the topic, but if there's a fanboy war going on here don't involve me. Everyone's got their own tastes, and I'm just freaking disappointed by all the consoles.


                        Besides, PC's the best. Not only can PC do tons more, you can just emulate the systems on the PC. :D

                        Well I'm just stating stuff I read in PSM. I figure they'd keep it pretty factual.


                        It is the independent one though, and not the official, so who knows.

                          I did not know that. Doesn't Xbox or Gamecube use Rumble? (I don't own either, used to own GC but I forgot.)

                                Maybe the engines inside the controllers? Although they look like stuff that's in any other thing, maybe they're a certain weight/shape, or something to do with math or something.
