The virtual console is too much to ignore, plus it's more innovative and less expensive than both of the other systems.

My first goal is the PS3, but I also want the Wii.

Its gotta be the PS3, no competition, the PS3 will revolutionise the games with the power which outstrips the Xbox360 by a mile. plus FFXIII is going to be released on it and if a Xbox360 version is to be made, the PS3 wills till have better detail and graphics. Yey PS3

Consider that in order to make the most of the PS3's potential, you would need a near top of the line TV.

TV's in that class start at $2,000.

We are coming into the era in which the only thing that decides whose graphics are better than whose is not by raw processing power, but by frame rate and ironically, the corrected eyesight of the player.

My preference atm is 360 then Wii and never PS3 cause i have had some bad experiences with PS2s and the like ... I also see better games for both other systems ... however i have feeling i will end up getting the Wii first... Nintendo roots like everyone should be.

If I had to choose between the Wii and the PS3, I would be in quite the pickle. The Wii has impressed me at E3! I am dying to try some sports games with that new controller and I adore some of the Nintendo brand games (i.e. Mario, Zelda, etc). PS3 has a lot of support though. There are going to be a LOT of rpg's on it that I will be twitching to buy. Since I'm a FF fanatic, I would have to say that is why the PS3 would win the duel. So I would probably buy the PS3 over the Wii, but if the Wii came out first............................I might cave!

I totally agree. It helps that the Wii will also be slightly cheaper than the PS3. Any release dates on the Wii?

Yeah, i wish there was an option for all. I have the Xbox360 right now. I picked the PS3 but i plan on getting the Wii too. As for the release date for the Wii, the last rumor i heard was around thanksgiving this year give or take a few days/weeks. =/ Also, you dont need to shell out $2,000 plus for a HDTV. Samsung and i think Toshiba have a good line of Slimfit CRT's that are HDTV 16:9 native and 720p. The lowest ive seen cost about $600-$800. Even now BestBuy has a 42" DLP HDTV for about $1,700. I know for certain i plan on getting a HDTV even if it is a CRT which is just as good and with no gray scale problems but not as sharp as DLP or LCD.

/nod. If i was still in school id be finishing my finals and be playing FFXI as well as other RPG i need to start/finish. $599 PS3 FTW ^_^~

Wow Xbox 360 is losing, I thought most people would vote that.

I pick Wii of course, have always been a nintendo fan, even though I have to admit gamecube didn't do that well >.<

I'm gonna go with the ps3, mainly because I believe it's going to beat the XBox 360 in the long run. I think with 1 main processor and 6(i think) sub processors, the first generation games are only the beginning of what the PS3 will truly be capable of. The trailers of the game I have seen for the PS3 look amazing. Real-time graphics are stunning and there is so much to do, so much to improve that it's mind-boggling.

To tell you the truth, the first generation 360 games don't impress me at all. They're not all that much better than Xbox graphics. Granted, this is only the first generation, but I just don't think Xbox has the hardware capable of producing that much of a better system.

As for the Wii, sorry, but it doesn't convince me enough to buy. To me, the Wii is just another rehash of the same nintendo games, and is purely made for nintendo fanboys. Nintendo will be hanging onto dear life, in the wake of PS3, which clearly outclasses it in versatility and graphics, and XBox 360. While the Wii has a different perspective controller than any that you would think of, it just doesn't do it for me. I think I could say with the utmost confidence that this will be the last console that Nintendo is going to be producing.

Ok, I own both the Xbox and the 360. I play both on a 61" hdtv and I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a significant difference between the graphics of the 1st gen system and the 360 on most games. No, I'm not a MS/360/Xbox lover either because I prefer my PS2 but I can be objective.
