The site goes on to say that Wii should be easy to remember for people around the world, no matter their language, and that it will avoid abbreviation. The "ii" spelling is intended to represent "both the unique controllers and the image of people gathering to play." It may also be worth noting that "ii" means "good" in Japanese.

This sounds like several people I used to know in creative writing class trying to explain their overwrought allegory.

Back when the original Playstation was announced, I thought it was the stupidest, lamest name ever. It probably still is, but I'm used to saying it now and I like my Playstation, so I don't notice anymore. It'll probably be the same with the Wheeeeeeeeeeee, but I still wish they called it something else.

Yeah.... with a name like "Wii" in the US... That'll fade just about as fast as the old sex jokes have, so when are those old sex jokes going to fade???

Don't know even in normal conversation 3rd party catches ear of it at the right time and they'll get the wrong idea...

so if I were to play with two consoles side by side... would it then be fair to say I was playing with my wii wii? ><

I'm getting one, I don't really see the point in the XBox360 or the PS3, games have been getting prettier every year, but the vast majority have been really stale. I can only think of 2 games with great graphics that I really enjoyed. Zelda WW (while not outstanding, the art style was cool) and Gran Turismo. The rest of the games I really enjoyed were DS games or stuff with nice depth but not much zing.

I can't wait to look like a retard everytimeI forget to close the blinds in my apt. and start up a game like Zelda or maybe something Bushido Blade-ish )hopefully Star Wars, and run around the room swinging my sword er controller.
