Killey is pretty cool his outfit reminds me of Vash The Stampede except for the hat.
Lorelai sucks though mediocre magic attack power and mediocre strength normally...

Belcoot is like Georg Jr. he parrys almost every attack then he gets doble crits.
Loading times will make you cry but it more than makes up for it with a great story.

Personally the series lost something when it went 3D. One and Two were great but the last three just do not compare. The series should have moved to the GBA to stay 2D if sony does not want 2D games on the PS2. They spend so much time and resources doing 3D and it hurts the games, because they can't do decent 3D. Number four was the worst, most areas were so barren looking. The areas don't feel as alive as in the first two.

(Genso) Suikoden fan here, too.

I've even bought them in the Japanese versions and bought Suikogaiden, too. (But I still can't translate the latter very well.)

I loved the original. (My very first video game so I have sentimental feelings for it, too.)

I loved II especially since they came up with an interesting storyline.

I thought Konami did a decent job with III translating the characters into 3D. Part of the storyline seemed like it was missing to me, though. >.> I guess they covered a little more in the manga.

IV seemed like they got so bogged down with improving the technical aspects (and dubbing) of the game that they forgot to put a story in! And what's with that angsty Troy? I think the 108 stars ending should've been Snowe smacking Troy upside the head for being an idiot. Also, I didn't really like many of the characters.

I'm still playing V and I'm enjoying it immensely. The faux 2D look is interesting (and didn't keep me from finding some hidden chests mwahaha!) but I wish the magnification went further. And I think Lym is adorable.

Um...am I the only one who enjoyed running around as Koroku? And decorating the house/bath/rooms?

I so hate voice acting. Lets turn less then a minute and half of reading into over a 15 minutes of cg with talking Atleast Suikoden V allows you to skip most of it, so you don't have to watch it 10 times when because you are tring different things on a boss. Not only is it longer when your playing but it takes so much more time for the developers that could be spent on better things(like a complete story).


Xenosaga I & II are the worst. I loved Xenogears but those two suck so bad, but thats another thread

I don't mind the 3-D it doesn't bother me at all and voice acting is a great thing when done correctly.

As long as it sticks to the Suikoden formula it'll be great.

I absolutely LOVED the first Suikoden, when my friend let me borrow it.

Then I beat it.

Then I became sad.

I rented 3 and hated it. Very much.

They should just remake Suikoden on the PS2. Keep everything the same, only update graphics.... nah, sprites.

Yeah.... It's so damn hard to find a copy of Suikoden nowadays..

Longtime fan of the series, here ^_^ I liked 3 (nothing compared to the first two, glitches or no), I stayed away from 4, and I just haven't had the chance to play 5 yet. I am looking forward to the opportunity.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Suikoden Tactics a completely separate (read: non-GS) game in Japan called Rhapsodia? It was my understanding that they took the distinctly mediocre strat game (with an admittedly novel take on environmental manipulation) and kinda shoehorned it into the GS world...Or was it just a spinoff? Any info on this?

4 was wholly unenjoyable and id advise those of you who liek the series to never touch it, however to all those who dont have 5 yet, you DEFINATELY need to get it, it ranks right up there with 2. tactics seemed ok, but that might have jsut been been because it took place in the same general area as 4 a few years later and everything i hated about 4 wasnt included hehe.

It is. After II, it has become one of my favourite games. It isn't nothing like IV, which is good. And it's better than III. It has memorable characters, good story and awesome music, I even bought its OST.

The truth is 5 is actually considered by many as good as Suikoden II, some even says it is better than suikoden II. I think the only thing that makes suikoden V not beat suikoden II was to play with the people from suikoden I lol

But well not like its possible since Suikoden V is a prequel again, before suikoden I. Frankly I love Suikoden V and plays it again from time to time over and over again. Georg Prime should be reason enough to get that game.

on a side note, they making a compilation of suikoden I and II on psp.

God I love the Suikoden series, though my favorite is 3, i'm in the middle of playing 5 now :D! I've got 1-5 and tactics, although tactics is a bit of a disapointment.
