Denying the vast majority of the planet access to a game due to pure greed and profiteering is one of the major issues in gaming. The majority of the people, and this the majority of gamers on the planet live outside of the US and Japan. Region Locking has to go and is killing interest in a lot of great devs like Atlus. It's also one massive contributor to piracy. If you can't obtain a game under legal means then what other choice do you have?

The cheating on The Last of Us is beyond the pale, wtf.

I'm getting killed by Molitovs while behind cover (last night 1 hit the wall in front of me, yet I still died... but I can't catch a guy with one that blows up right at their feet? Da fuq is that?!) I got Shiv'd a few times from the front, without any smoke bomb (again wtf) what else...


Oh yeah, the game not giving Shiv prompts despite being right behind someone, people putting down bomb traps behind them right as I'm about to catch them (no possible way they know I'm behind them with covert training & strategist...) getting "Superman Lunged" with Melee weapons, people not going down from the Machete or even modded melee weapons at times, hell at one point I was right in front of the guy swinging at him and the hits didn't even register, but he beat me down with his fists. I've also had this happen while actually hitting another guy with a 2x4, another guy shiv'd me from the front while I was swinging a modded melee weapon at him....


I swear to God it's insane. The amount of bullcrap I had to deal with last night was just unreal. I wasn't lagging either, so I don't know if there's just a lot of cheaters out there or if Naughty Dog's netcoding is complete garbage.


EDIT: OH yeah, and 1 other guy beat me down with his fists while I was pumping 9mm into him, at least 8 bullets and I didn't even drop him. He was NOT wearing armor, I was, and I had full health. Explain that to me.

Choice Band Scizor can OHKO Xerneas with Bullet Punch after Stealth Rock Damage. Forretress can also survive a hit with Sturdy and immediately hit back with Gyro Ball for insane damage.

Pink Blobs, Tyranitar and Terrakion also hard counter Yveltal. Watch out for Focus Blast though. It also has a Stealth Rock weakness so will be losing 25% HP on each switch in.

Random matches are probably not the greatest indicator. But my +Sp.Def Sylveon is a beast. Get off Calm Mind a few times and it just wipes people in random.

Played a little more Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. I've been told that it apparently gets better after Month 1, where people actually arrive to the village andthe Animal Crossing style mechanics kick in, but I find it hard to get past that month due to sheer boredom. This is definitely not a game that respects the gamer's time.

Since I have the plague, I used my day off to finish Remember Me.

Such a good game. So very very flawed, but holy cow does that game make me feel like a terrible human being. A+, would recommend.

Just got to the part of FFVI where I get Strago and Relm. I like Strago mostly because he's the guy I have to worry less about assigning magicite to. Plus he and Terra can pretty much shred anything with magic.

Terra, Sabin, Edgar and Strago could be my endgame team, but I'd probably switch out Edgar or Sabin just for Celes and Runic.

Even all these years later FFVI simple brushstrokes lead to great emotional impact and laughter. Its hard not to be charmed with the game, especially after RPGs have gotten so serious, dark and borderline on the pretentious, sometimes falling over the edge. I think that's also a big reason why I loved SMT IV. It never got in as deep as Persona on the story and there were some seriously dark moments like FFVI, but plenty to laugh at during the journey as well.

Everyone at SE today would do well replay FFVI before just making a dumbed down iOS cash-in out of it. The flow of the story and gameplay is so elegant it doesn't really need tweaking beyond maybe some adjustments to the spell learning rate on Magicite.

Agreed. Remember Me got such a very bad reputation from word of mouth and reviews that it honestly did not deserve. It's definitely flawed, but what it does well, it does exceptionally well.

I was kind of saddened by the fact some people wouldn't play Remember Me because the female protagonist kisses a guy for concerns it would "make them feel gay." These are the same people that have no objection to a fixed male lead game after game after game, but the second there's a fixed female lead, they need a male option so they feel comfortable

Remember Me is something I might get around to when I get another PS3 - if only because its a cyberpunk game - but I'm not incredibly fond of the art direction.

So as usual, my bro bought the new CoD, because it's the only thing he plays along with the annual wrestling games.

MP is an unplayable lagfest, as I expected and I'm currently playing the Campaign just for the Hell of it (meh, it's something new. The Dog is actually kinda cool, though once again the story is written as some impossible bullshit that would never in a million years happen.)

I genuinely do not remember that happening.

I don't believe those people exist outside of theoretical scenarios and a few crazy people in the Bible Belt. I choose to believe this because the alternative is justification for purging the world of humanity in a hellstorm of fire and blood.

The art direction is pretty top notch. It might not be your taste, but it's exceptionally well done. I particularly liked how they seamlessly integrated the game HUD into the game world. It's pretty slick.
