Re: What games are you currently playing?
This Black Frost fusion in Nocturne had it all.
Level 85 Black Frost
Strength - 31
Magic - 31
Mabufudyne (Heavy ice damage, all enemies)
Mamudoon (Instant death, high odds, all enemies)
Berserk (Random moderate damage, all enemies)
Megidola (Moderate unmitigated Almighty damage, all enemies)
Dekaja (removes all enemy buffs)
Sukukaja (Evasion/Hit up 25%, all allies, stackable x4)
Debilitate (all enemy stats down 25%, stackable X4)
Mana Refill (MP refills as you walk).
FUSION ACCIDENT
Level 74 Surt with vendor trash skills.
What's really goading is on level-up Black Frost would have likely been given the option to evolve a skill to the next tier, either meaning Berserk would have become Hassohappa or Megidola turned Megidoloan since all other skill tiers were maxed.. The latter would be preferable for its unresisted damage, but Hassohappa is still pretty sweet for enemies that have no physical resistance.Last edited by Omgwtfbbqkitten; 06-07-2013, 11:03 PM.

Wouldn't trying to fuse it again be seriously freaking greedy at that point? Re: What games are you currently playing?
Because buffs and debuffs really matter in this game, especially for boss fights.
Bosses can pull extra turns out of their ass toward endgame, buff theselves, debuff you and pummel you. If you don't maintain good builds it can get pretty rough.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Playing that iOS game, Final Fantasy Dimensions. Surprisngly enjoyable. Would be more if random encounters didn't happen every 4-7 steps.
One thing I kind of admire is the influence I believe Final Fantasy XI had on how the traditional jobs are approached. One thing that can definitely be said about XI is that the individual jobs are more complex and nuanced than they've ever been in the series. And a lot of its influence shows in games like the TA2 or Dimensions. Makes me disappointed more of the numbered series doesn't adhere to the traditional jobs anymore.sigpic

Not quite sure what that has to do with fusing away a creature that "had it all".Originally posted by ArmandoNo one at Square Enix has heard of Occam's Razor.Originally posted by ArmandoNintendo always seems to have a legion of haters at the wings ready to jump in and prop up straw men about hardware and gimmicks and casuals.Originally posted by TaskmageGOD IS MIFFED AT AMERICA

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Because it had Debilitate (lowers all enemy stats, stackable 4 times) and Dekaja (Dispelga). Sukukaja is nice too since it's basically Ninja Roll and Hunter's Roll combined and stacks 4 times. Plus is had some really nice offensive magic too. Mabugydyne hits like a truck and Megidola smacks anything that resists ice.
Eh just buy Notcurne and try getting anywhere in the game without using Buffs and Debuffs. It shouldn't take long before you tableflip.Rahal Gerrant - Balmung - 188 DRK

Re: What games are you currently playing?
So, my buddy and I *finally* killed our first Seraph Guardian on Borderlands 2, Hyperius the Invincible. Was an epic battle as we both got knocked down into second chance and died, but 1 stray shot from my buddy's SMG connected the second after he died and we got credit for the kill XD
Sucky thing is, I just found out since we're only on normal (we were both level 40 when we finally killed him) we don't get any goddamn Seraph Crystals. LAME!!!!

The freaking . . .
Where the crap in any of my posts did I imply that de/buffs weren't important in SMT? I get that, what I don't get is why BBQ would fuse away his Black Frost that already "had it all".Originally posted by ArmandoNo one at Square Enix has heard of Occam's Razor.Originally posted by ArmandoNintendo always seems to have a legion of haters at the wings ready to jump in and prop up straw men about hardware and gimmicks and casuals.Originally posted by TaskmageGOD IS MIFFED AT AMERICA

Finished Remember Me today. I get why it didn't review well, but this game is way better than the review scores would indicate. It fails at lack of polish, rather than a lack of inspiration.
Docket is now cleared for The Last of Us. Guess I'll work on Mass Effect 1 PS3 and Vita backlog until then.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Nocturne is a whole different ballgame from Persona in terms of Fusion and many combat situations. The Black Frost I'm doing is just a side thing for a side quest - one that fetches a very worthwhile reward and beating the dungeon also lets me negotiate with the deities there that won't negotiate with me now. its kind of important if I want to have Shiva on top of that reward. Shiva is a strong ally and while I have to work on Metatron and Beelzebub, he would be worth working toward as well. Metatron happen to be rather complicated to create. Not only do you first have to beat the them in battle to fuse them (and they're very nasty), they each have really intricate paths to creation. I have to create four archangels before I can create Metatron and Beelzebub has to be evolved after obtaining Beelzaboul in a rather tricky fashion.
Also this Black Frost kicks the crap out of the basic one I fused and levelled up. Better, more useful skills.
Just to give you an example of what this game - and Digital Devil Saga and SMT IV - would expect of you, here's a video of the previously mentioned Matador Fight:
Matador is a boss very focused on Zan (wind) magic, evasion/hit buffs and Taunt, which lowers enemy party defense. To guard against this, The player equipped a magatama that voids wind damage and has Uzume who is naturally resistant to such damage and Nekomata who absorbs Zan magic. You'll notice each time Matador deploys a wind attack, his second turn icon vanishes - this is because using an inefficient attack is punished under the Press Turn System. The party's use of Sukunda (enemy hit/eva down) and Sukukaja (party hit/eva up) in this fight was to preserve the fourth member and evade physical attacks as much as possible.
Persona's "One More" system is inspired by Press Turn, but does not directly emulate it. Press Turn gives you one turn for each party member present in combat. This turn can be extended one of two ways, by using Pass (as seen in the video) and exploiting an enemy's weakness or landing a critical hit. When these conditions are met, the Turn Icon that would traditionally be spent flashes instead, showing that turn has been preserved. After the second use, that turn will be spent.
Raising your evasion to the point the enemy can miss at times means they will not only use up their current turn, but lose the next turn they had as well. Nullifying or absorbing damage will cost them all their turns. This also applies to Repel status, which can be very damning if you get careless and leave you without turns to heal. Imagine an enemy that can regularly repel physical damage, for example and you went in to punch them, eating your own fist in the process.
The boss I'm facing in Masakados' tomb right now, as with many bosses there, is very physically oriented with some elemental magic ability. Damaging their ability to buff themselves and cast other magic, along with a strong evasion/hit buffing/debuffing build in your group is far more important to these fights that directly defending against a particular element (which would end up meaning like five different party builds for one dungeon and a huge time sink). Removing negative status is also a must here.
Also, the shitshow (MS E3 conference) is 12 hours away!Last edited by Omgwtfbbqkitten; 06-10-2013, 08:04 AM.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Quite possibly one of the most hilarious Ranked Battle I've ever had on Pokemon Showdown:
OU replay: Fstr vs. Rahal - Pokémon Showdown
If you want to see what happens in a Pokemon Battle when both people are screwed over by RNG then that would be it. Seriously, my Rotom missed 3 Hydro Pumps in a row...Rahal Gerrant - Balmung - 188 DRK
