Bioshock Infinite was hard? Didn't seem that bad to me. Not particularly great combat, but should have been very manageable if you're not playing on Hard or 1999 mode.

Sorry, I think I worded that poorly. Dead Space 3 was too easy. Bioshock Infinite was hard to care about. Once Booker starts hopping into alternate dimensions nothing seems to matter anymore, they'll just hop out of one problem and into another, leaving behind any progress or resolutions they may have just made.
So on Neverwinter I found out that Rogues can equip axes and they can be dual wielded. There is something quite satisfying about Sneak Attacking an Ogre with a pair of battle axes.

Way to miss out on the entire point... that's all very relevant to the plot, culminating in one of the best/saddest endings in the series.

Tends to happen when your games get all philisophical about infinite possibilities, have a multiverses and it all goes cosmic. Maybe you're just not used to that kind of narrative but I tend to enjoy that kind of thing as a fan of comics, Star Trek and Shin Megami Tensei.
we have games with multiple endings, but later canonize one path and forsake all the other possible endings, so I don't really see what Bioshock Infinite is doing as any different. Hell, to even have time to explain it all would probably require a TV series to accompany it. Or you could just accept it as a thing and go watch Dr. Who or something.
So I discovered how much of a double edged sword Auto-Combo is in Persona 4 Arena today while playing online for the first time. If you aren't careful you can end up wasting SP by accidentally continuing the combo into Persona Attacks, SP that you will probably need later for the burst damage to finish off an opponent. Plus due to latency you can sometimes end up activating an Auto-Combo by mistake when you were actually going for another combo. Still it's a nice addition and seeing Chie pummel people into the dirt with her's always makes me squee.
Thankfully Cancels are really easy to map to a button.
Also Chie's "Ultimate Attack" is Galactic Punt...Yeah I think I'm never going to stop playing her.
So, any advice on what merit awards to get in Ni no Kuni? So far I saved up and got the extra glitter-thingies one that makes the HP/MP balls drop more in combat, and it's really helping a lot.
But most of the other beginner ones seem like trash - should I save up for when the later ones unlock? I was sorely tempted to get the faster overworld travel one after I had to haul ass back from Al Moora or w/e to Ding Dong Dell just to get some enthusiasm... @_@;

The later merits only unlock when the entire previous tier is purchased, so there is no point in hoarding merit stamp points. Just buy each tier in order of preference. There's a really good one in the final tier called Jack of Hearts that improves your chance to charm a defeated monster. You should beeline for that and do as many quests as you can if you're interested in the completionist-type trophies.

The only real problem with Chie - and subsequently Kanji and Akihiko - is they're all rather weak in the zoning category, though Kanji players can surprise you sometimes Chie will have an easy time cracking Yukiko players as their zoning tactics are pretty predictable but Elizabeth, Mitsuru, Yu, Naoto and Youske have ways to keep her fairly locked out and off-balance. She's decent enough if you can get her right in someone's face, but that's the real trick. Between her, Akihiko and Kanji, its Kanji that can close the gap the best.
Sadly for Kanji, Mitsuru, Yu and Youske are much faster and more devastating in that regard - especially Mitsuru.

Great, thanks. One final question; With regards to feeding familiars treats, is there any real point in feeding the early guys? I mean how long is it roughly until I start being able to recruit the really good familiars? (I'm assuming the best ones are all obtained with Familiar Cards from the Sage Master?) Furthermore, since they reset to level 1 after evolving, again, any point in feeding them before their final evolutions? Basically I just don't want to go wasting a whole bunch of treats for nothing, particularly when I'm getting through most fights just fine.
