    Playing Farcry 3.

Pretty much sums up what I've been doing.

Going to the Mage's Tower first was a terrible idea. I was so lonely in the Fade without my party members jabbering at each other.

That's where I started my current playthrough before getting sidetracked By Skyrim's Dragonborn expansion and Mass Effect. I intend to get back to it soon, but I liked The Fade segment.

I really have to be in a particular mindset for DAO, though. I like the character interaction better than ME, but the interface is cumbersome, the level design is mediocre and "exploration" is touching an obvious sparkly thing. Can someone sit Bioware down with some games that do this stuff better? I feel like they stayed behind in the 90s on this stuff and there were more progressive ways to do that stuff even back then.

That aside my Shepard is still grumpy.

I was wondering if he PSN version of Mass Effect will be able to transfer Save Files over to the pre-trilogy PS3 Mass Effect 2. Relieved that they left all that stuff intact.

PSN Mass Effect is still a bit buggy at times though. There was one really bad case on Virmire where Shepard and that Asari did that weird sideways glance thing prevalent in Mass Effect 3. And sometimes the subtitles would indicate there is supposed to be dialogue, but there is no sound.

I'm pretty sure even when ME remained exclusive to Xbox that the hooks were still planted in the PS3 version since the 360 and PC versions also have the 15 minute prologue available to them. Then again, Bioware has never been terribly honest about what really went into the PS3 versions of ME2 (which they said was built on ME3's engine - a total lie) and ME.

I just know the 360 Trilogy version of ME1 feels a bit more choppy than they Platinum Hits version I played earlier this year. This is more often when you have multiple targets on-screen and it makes it a pain to play as a Vanguard or Soldier. Its hard to aim when the framerate clogs up when so many targets pop up.

                I didn't know that you could Tab to make important things sparkle until, well, I returned back to the Mage's Tower. I felt like I missed out on so much then. ><;

It was built on ME3's engine - an early version of it, not the final product. That's why it still looks better than the 360 version but not quite as good as ME3.

The trilogy version is diff from the Plat Hits? The hell? They didn't just port over the source code?! lol fail...

At least PS3 owners can finally play all 3 games, and AFAIK yes you can transfer Ketaru.

On the version I have, they're already sparkling. No tabbing required. It does feel kind of cheap. But no more so than Mass Effect, where you just look at the top of the screen until the greyed out Examine box appears to show you something all the way across the room. Sometimes, exploring in that game is just going to the middle of a room and turning 360 degrees until you see the box appear.

Yeah, I said that. It isn't readily apparent though. When I finished Mass Effect, I was expecting it to ask if I wanted to save. I've now got a file stuck at the point just before the Geth turrets part of the Citadel climb. Instead, I just started Mass Effect 2 for the sake of continuing on and just selecting all of my choices through the interactive comic thing and was pleasantly surprised to find it asking me if I wanted to import a character. I really hoped that was what was going on when I started up 2 and it started updating the game. The only decision I still had to make was who I decided to be the human councilor. A few bits of dialogue are already different here and there, which is nice. They also changed the command menus into a radial form. If the videos I've seen on YouTube are any indication, they used to be way more involved than that.

The biggest thing I find distasteful about 1 though is the inventory management. That and the damned Mako.

I bailed on ME3 somewhere during the return to the Geth part of the game. Started hearing about all the downer endings to the game and got discouraged. I know they added an ending or two in the patch. I'm assuming they didnt add anything approaching a happy ending, correct? I really need to finish it just for closure at this point.

The endings got fleshed out and explained a bit more, but didn't get happier, the so-called "best" ending was still a bit of a downer and they added a fourth ending that was rather brief, but I lived it.

I think in hindsight people were just expecting too much of the endings. Five years of games, spin-off novels and comic books and fan theorycrafting and anyone from outside the fanbase just knew the core fans would implode anyway. I see ME3 like The Dark Knight Rises - it was tasked with following up a very incredible game and its only crime was not topping it, but its rare that any trilogy-ender does. I'm more nit-picky about the odd design choices them made from ME2 to ME3 than I am the story since I don't give a rat's ass about the novels and comics.

Though I have to say that ninja dude was totally pointless and adds practically nothing to the story aside from giving the Illusive Man a new flunky. Too Darth Maul/Jango Fett filler baddie for me.

Yes, it does import into PS3 ME2.

Mass Effect has always had glitchy audio and subtitles here and there, so this is nothing new.

I say again, it's because they let the one guy basically write all the endings on his own without any approval etc. I mean WTF - ME3 was also rushed, and even the extended cut didn't do much. And don't forget about ME4, which is why I feel the "bad" (Destroy/Red) ending is the only real one as it's the only one where Shepard lives...

I mean shit, they basically told us to hold on to our save files shortly after 3's release. No bioware, you're not fooling anyone.
