Dicking around on Diablo 2 for shits & giggles.

3 still sucks, and with XIV down.... eh. I should probably pick up Resonance of Fate again and finish it but I just can't seem to do it lately.

Side by side comparison I watched at GT showed the PS3 version is still better though, just like with the other Konami HD remasters.

Every comparison I've read says the PS3 version is slower and the colors are more washed out. The PS3 version of Silent Hill HD collection was the only version patched, but it was still a shit version of both games to both platforms because it came from incomplete code and NOT the original source code (which is a huge problem).

MGS HD collection fared the best, but that's because Kojima Productions bothers to preserve their data and Bluepoint is the best of the best when it comes to HD collections, but they can only do their best if all the code is there. Even then, MGS HD collection suffers a bit in cinema scenes (particularly with cinema scenes that were highly dependent on motion blur and 30 FPS to look right (and ZOE2 used the same engine as MGS2 and 3 for cutscenes and gameplay). Bumping things up to 60 FPS universally made some of the presentation suffer and look like the game was stuttering when it wasn't.

At the end of the day, the Raydeus is right, the PS2 versions of ZOE and ZOE2 are vastly better, along with any HD fan mod on PC, most likely. Same goes for the PS2 versions of MGS2 and 3. Peacewalker can't suffer in the cutscenes since they were all handdrawn.

it just seems like sheer laziness on Konami's part, as the 1st party HD remakes (God of War most notably) are all quite good on PS3.

Currently playing the first Mass Effect since it was made available on PSN. I can see why people don't like the Gameplay as much as the latter 2 games. And it makes me a little uncomfortable how wet-behind-the-ears some of the characters sound right now. Not sure if it's because the voice actors aren't as experienced. Or if they were purposely given more of an edge in the later games (which would definitely make a lot of sense for a character like Liara).

It's finally nice to see how Wrex factors into the games though. He was a pretty important character in 3, yet I never really had the experience of using him as a squad member so there was always some disconnect.

Currently Playing Star Ocean 4, Skyrim and La Pucelle Tactics (throwback). Tomorrow I'm headed to the store to pick up Ni No Kuni and possibly Just Dance 4 (oh yeah... I said it).

Looking forward to the first weekend I have off in a while where there will be very little to do... besides tomorrow night since I got suckered into working.

Huh? Unless you're getting an imported version, Ni No Kuni doesn't release in North America until January 22 on PS3, and I don't think there's even a DS translation in the works, let alone releasing any time soon.

Sadly localization for the DS companion game never even began and knowing Level 5 astoudingly slow localization turnaround, US gamers would be waiting until DS was dead an buried. Seriously took them a year and a half to get Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask out west when it launched with 3DS in Japan.

Yet three of the Guild 01 games got in eShop fairly fast, but those were smaller, less story-focused games. I'm glad Level 5 decided to release them, even if they are shorting us on the blacksmith game from the collection. The producer claims its very difficult to localize because its so text-heavy and focused on Japanese culture - but that's not stopped many other games from ever making it to the west.

At least we're getting Crimson Shroud next week. I'm really interested to see how a pen-and-paper RPG pans out on the 3DS.

Ok, just started up on dungeon defenders and i have to say that is a great game that is free for playstation plus subscribers. Tower defense and RPG elements tossed into one is a win for me. Played it all day yesterday and couldnt believe it was a free game.

DA:O is an amazing game. The DLC with Shale is also pretty good.
