The music of Sonic 4 Eps 1 would make better ringtones than video game music. A lot of them seem to be nothing but 30 second loops.

I just ate two camps of Imperials and a den of vampires. Now I'm naked, sweaty, cold and don't know how I got in this cave!

      Thanks, lycanthropy!

          And a mean bellyache.

Maxing out my werewolf perks is proving pretty easy. I need to go quest the totems for max benefit.

          Also, I just made this:

I make the crossbows that make the ppl fall down.

Right now I am playing FFX.... I am a bit behind, I will be honest, I do not care for FFX/X-2/XII.....but starting now, I will be forcing myself to play them.

I have 26 action/adventure/shooter games in my gamefly list, I will have them along with playing the FF games and Last Story for a good while.

Don't see why. FFX was epic, and FFXII's battle system can be quite fun if you don't go overboard on the gambits.

Well I honestly do not understand why I have put off playing them so long..... ever since 10 (not counting 11) I have not really liked the FF games. I guess because they moved away so much from what I was used to (FF 1-9) but to be hoenst as I play more and more of FFX I do enjoy the story..... just not the battle system, and I am sure it will be the same for X-2 and XII, then I have move on to.... *gulp* XIII and XIII-2 .....those I really dislike...... but again maybe after playing the PS2 games and opening up more to "modern" FF titles, I might see XIII in a different light *shrugs*

FFX had a better battle system than most FFs that came before it. Just kinda sucked that you could pre-charge Overdrives before boss fights and that your characters start converging into the same thing if you grind at endgame. I've heard X-2 was actually even better in terms of battle system but much shittier in terms of plot.

X gets points for a character's speed actually being a factor in battle. Fast characters just didn't really benefit from ATB. And X-2's story isn't the most horrible plot ever. It just had a lot of sparkles, glitter, pop music, and a fashion show-inspired job system. Basically, it was very, very difficult to absorb without gagging.

The plot in X-2 wasn't bad at all, if you are into Japanese idols and their adventures. Otherwise it would be pretty flat for you.

In english though... well, like I've said before they should've renamed the game "Hooker Barbie and her friends visit Spira", and it should've been way more accurate considering the "acting". X-2 is a very good example of content that is not suitable for localization because there is just no cultural equivalent here.

And yes, the battle system was great. Costume change was just a nice bonus, but I'm cutscene addict, so whether it was costume or GF summon I'd always let them all play. (Though there's the option to skip the cinematics of course.)

That was pretty nice, but I consider its greatest triumph over ATB to be the fact that you can actually plan ahead.

It's probably because at the time I didn't know what an idol was, but everything about X-2 suddenly makes a lot of sense. I'd probably still gag horribly, but now I understand.

I found that XII had a good combat system that was completely destroyed by the insane random battle durations, frequency, and downtime. It's really telling when you cheat your way to level 20 in the first 3 hours and then proceed to get further into the game in 6 more hours than you would in 20 straight hours of legitimate gameplay.

X-2's battle system was interesting, but I personally never got into it, and towards the end it basically was "how fast can you go through three costume changes and HAAHAHA OH WOW NOW THIS IS NOT VERY DIFFICULT"

XII I loved pretty much everything, except for how thin the plot became from the time you kill Cid until you storm the Bahamut. They clearly got in a rush toward the end; which was a real shame, since they already had those big beautiful areas made up, and practically left them abandoned. Heck, iirc, the King Bomb is an optional boss, and Nabudis and Nabreus are behind him. You can skip the fight, and those areas entirely. Even people who do go there are often times just running in to grab Zodiac Spear, and running out never to return. Apparently this was originally another place you were supposed to visit, along with that giant crystal thingymajig.

I still honestly don't understand why all the hate towards Tidus. He wasn't *that* bad, in fact I've seen far worse. Plus if you played Dissidia 012 (which most of these people probably haven't) you gain a deeper insight into his relationship with Jecht and can appreciate them both all the more for it. 10 definitely could have used some better writing here & there but overall I still don't think it's nearly as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. I still say Vaan's the worst the character they've ever done by far.

I think my favorite combat systems they've done so far that were at least partially out of the norm were Crisis Core and Last Remnant's. Crisis Core proved that they can take an FF styled battle system but make it apply to an open field with full movement etc (I suspect they had some help from the Enix side of the company with that game, specifically anyone who's worked on Grandia) and if it wasn't for all the other horrible aspects to the game I'd be willing to do another run of TLR but after I got that last trophy, eh...

I do want to see SE revisit that IP though - or at least some of the ideas they tried. The Morale & Unions systems were great concepts I feel and would be especially amazing in a FF Tactics setting where you could place multiple jobs in 1 union for various strategies & effects.

FF13 and 13-2 were also pretty good as far as battles. I'd like to see them bring back the chaining bonuses from 10-2 however to add another layer of strategy to the mix. It's sort of in there as it is but you can't really just set up combos the way you could in X-2, it's more about filling the meter and then Launching an enemy and spamming away as opposed to coordinating strikes.

Where'd that come from? I don't see anyone hating on Tidus.
