Just tried The Walking Dead ep 1 off XBLA.

It was a pretty short demo, but it certainly felt unnerving like the show. Being a Telltale game its still a point-and-click at heart but its got a nice, strong comic book look to it and the tone is consistent with the series. I think I can drop $5 on this.

Dark Souls.

I've gotten back into it with a vengeance. Took the character my girlfriend created but didn't play up to SL 80 so far. But I'm going to slow down on the lvl'n and really start upgrading my weapons and armour and getting through NG. Dark Souls is really such a amazing game, imo. The combat/gameplay is just so fluid and fun. I've found areas in this playthru that I never found on my 'main' character's NG or NG+ playthrus.

I'm trying to create a PvP character. I'm thinking I should go with a melee DEX build. Atm, I've upgraded a Balder Side Sword to +14 and I'm trying to decide whether to use the one Titanite Slab I have (so far) to upgrade the Side Sword fully or save the slab for when I get a Uchigatana. After getting invaded and killed so many times during this playthru, I've realized how awesome weapons that cause bleeding really are. Only thing is that the katana class of weapons have smaller hit-boxes and I'm not really used to them because I typically have been using Quelaag's or a Lightning Dark Sword on my other character.

I'm also trying to figure out which armor I'm going to roll with. I don't like the idea of having too many situational options cuz switching mid-duel typically means death for me. If I can get my END up high enough several pieces of the Giant's armour looks pretty nice.

Yay dead game for consoles... I guess. Oh well, I'll be right about that TWEWY2 thing eventually.

I'm going to give the original another chance sometime soon before KH3D is out. If I can stand Neku long enough to not punch the stylus through the screen, that is.

Its something I do - play through the referenced games and movies. Hunchback of Notre Dame might be hard to find on DVD, though. Tron Legacy I don't really need to see again this soon. It wasn't that good anyway.

Nicalis comments on Wii U, Cave Story+ on the eShop -Destructoid

Well, I guess the 3rd out of seven versions of this game will be the charm for me.

This version is the Steam version with the sprites put into 3D as opposed to everything coverted to polygons and put into 3D like Cave Story 3D was. Cave Story 3D did allow you to switch up to character and enemy sprites but the music and backgrounds were different from the other versions. Various areas became too dark and that version didn't make good use of the 3D.

If you already have the DSiWare version you will still be able to download it after its delisted, but Cave Story+ will be replacing it and if you want it for 3DS it seems you will have to buy it agam. Both NIntendo and Nicalis seemed to want to make it a simple update for those that had already bought it, but "logistics" (read: possibly Nippon Ichi, which sometimes publishes for Nicalis) prevented it from happening.

Bastion is $6 on Steam today. Get on it if you haven't played this already. Definitely among the best games of 2011.

While we're on the subject, Noitu Love 2 was recently added to Steam at $5. It's 2D indie game that was released about 4 years ago, used to be $20. Pretty interesting gameplay (WASD + Mouse on a sidescroller), good pixel art and catchy music. Check out the trailer and the demo.

Just played the Dragon's Dogma demo. Not much to itt, but I got to fight a Chimera and a Griffon and stab them all over, even ride them like a bucking bronco.

I spent more time making my character and its pawn than playing it, though.

from what I have seen, I might like Dragon's Dogma, I am currently taking a small break from RPGs, and playing Yakuza Dead Souls..... this game so much.

I was finally able to play STO... for a while.

But now I'm getting Disconnected from Server every minute in space. It's a shame really, I was starting to get into the game, but it's completely unplayable like this. I log in, fight for 30 seconds and get disconnected, then I have to log in again to try to go back into the fray... for another 30 seconds.

Ground seems to be ok though, but since most of the fun happens in space disconnecting every minute is beyond annoying.

Spent all evening playing Awesomenauts. Great game, lots of fun. And since I'm a Playstation+ subscriber, didn't even have to pay for it. Bonus!
