    SSX demo is meh.

New control scheme sucks and there's no space to build momentum between jumps because they just throw jumps at you everywhere every few seconds. Also a ton of Brit-pop in here, not that its bad, but its not very SSX, even if they toss in bits of Run DMC's "Tricky." Also the trash talking, frequent commenting from the SSX cast is now just replaced with generic "attitude." I don't think they even got people to reprise their old characters, plus they lack the creative looks they all had in the past, everyone just looks so earthy now. Zoe and Moby were my favorites and now they're both pretty boring to listen to and look at.

The flying squirrel suit element is an interesting twist, but it doesn't seem have a lot of places to be used.

Its SSX without any of the charm it once held, they don't even bother to have an announcer there for commentary this time. I wasn't expecting Rahzel again, but it couldn't have hurt to have him back taunting players.

    Very disappointing.

If you want to give it a spin its on 360 Marketplace now and should be up on SEN later tonight. But don't expect SSX Tricky or SSX 3 out of it, its not nearly as good as those two.

Rented The Darkness 2 three days ago, and already have 1000/1000 on it.

Wow. Very, very short game, but aside from the story - a huge step from the first. Feels awesome just shooting at guys while releasing a swarm of locust to distract the heavy-hitters, while throwing poles to impale the weaker ones. The "Kill 5 enemies in different ways in 30 seconds" achievement has never been so easy - because you're always in a situation where you're surrounded. The difficulty is good too, assuming you go Hard (Hitman) or Extra Hard (Don). Gives you a good sense of Godhood without it being a bore.

But the story, pacing, atmosphere... ouch. Nowhere near as good as the original. I could complain about the change in graphics but I like cel-shaded, and it's quite good seeing it through your own eyes and not a screenshot/video.

Glad I rented it. $6 over $60 and I had all the fun the game could give me. Ha!

Now to find something else to do while I wait for Mass Effect 3... sigh.

Well, MGS SE3D does have the achievements from other versions, but they excluded the Easter Egg oriented ones like the "Problem Solved, Series Over" one. I guess they just did this being mindful to those in the Nintendo audience who haven't played the other games or something. The easter eggs are still there, though.

This game doe have the dreeaded "one save" but considering how much is packed into the 4GB cart I'm willing to let it slide, plus it was designed for multiple playthroughs anyway with the different "I like MGS X" options, which all remain unlocked unless you decide to do a full data reset (and the option is there, so those fussy about the one-save have a way out).

I've now guessed that one of Peacewalker's unlocks would be the banana since you had to do a mission in that where you held up guards while only having a banana instead of a gun. I guess we'll see if that holds true. It was a good gag. I could see myself doing an Extreme Mode with the banana.

I've also found the perfect Photo Camo that works with almost anything. The game rates it as good for green environments, but its also given me 95% in brick and 100% when prone in brown environments. And to think I just took a picture of my DS lint cloth. I guess we'll see how long that lasts me before I have to switch.

The frog statues are now replaced by Yoshis and they make the saddle-up noise from Super Mario World.

The cutscenes do get a little choppy in placees, but its often on par with the PS2 version on framerate. The gameplay has no framedrops at all and I've been sneaking and playing through like a boss so far even without the Circle Pad Pro.

Yo, I played Asura's Wrath last night. How in the world did this game get 90% from Joystiq and a metacritic of 72%? This game is awful, shallow, and boring. Everything, save the graphics, are just horrendous.

... If only the entire game looked like that, rather than the cartoony stuff they have going on. I would love for some HD WoW.

The game play, story line (No main story line quests.), and graphics options are a huge put off for me.

There are plenty of storyline quests, they're just zone-oriented more than toward the whole picture. A bunch that are expansion-oriented, as well, like the Wrathgate series which resulted in a pretty epic cutscene. The graphics used to be a turn off for me too, but some of the game is just gorgeous, even with the toony aspect of it. I was pretty surprised when I started playing just how nice the game actually looked.

I don't think its bribes. There are just gamers and reviewers ashamed of the their medium and wish them to be more like movies and TV shows.

Heavy Rain wanted and failed to be a suspenseful crime drama.
Asura's Wrath apparently wants to and will fail to be Dragon Ball Z.

I just get annoyed but games like these because I'm tired of developers, journalists and gamers who want their hobby validated in the eyes of the mainstream. Meanwhile they don't champion LA Noire, Ace Attorney, Metal Gear Solid, Rockstar's games or even Bioware's games because they have those annoying game elements in them.

This is why I wanted a Fahrenheit (Director's cut) remake instead.

I will agree that there are story line zones, and the graphics are really beautiful.

But, the wall-of-text format they did was a HUGE put me off for reading them. I can see if one or two quests that are zone oriented are like that but... every... single.... one.... No, no thanks. I like having a large in depth quest, but you don't need a farmer telling you the whole history of a brigand that is destroying his farm. At least give it to me in pieces, and not one large chunk, and have a nice boss fight at the end that gives good gear at the end, over a couple zones. Not just kill these guys, and never hear from me again type of thing.

I like the whole story line that they do in XI, and XIV. I like offline game type of story lines, yet I want to play with people online, trying to accomplish the same goal. WoW is too.. "Sand-boxy" for me The only reason I played it was for the PvP really, then I just changed to Rift, which has a very good battle system, and is challenging. People may call it a clone, but it isn't.

Maybe in your opinion. It got stellar reviews across the board, and it's only real failing (other than not being able to skip the intro, dear lord that would have been nice) was that one particularly bad plot hole.

Got all Red Rings and Challenge notes in Sonic Generations yesterday. Unhealthy game for...I don't want to say perfectionists. More like obsessive people. But I find myself restarting Acts again and again because I missed a jump, carelessly took damage, or just plain had an unplanned loss in momentum. Just restarting again and again because I just "know" I can do it better to see what my best time ends up being. Especially in Crisis City. Cool zone design, but one huge death trap too.

So now that I've "beaten" Sonic Generations, started on Uncharted: Drake's Fortune today. Never seems to be a dull moment in this game, huh...

Beat Resident Evil Revelations and Never Dead, loved both, Tried to play Radiata Stories, but I just can not seem to get into it -.- I really dont know what to tackle next, because next Month I have Tales of Graces F, Armored Core V, and Resident Evil: ORC...... so I don't want to play anything like then as to burn myself out.

I wanted to play Phantasy Star Zero, but it seems hardly anyone play it anymore, so then I thought about Soul Caliber V, but I am just not in the mood for a fighter right now...... the only thing I am doing is playing FF:CC Echos of Time with my Nephew, me on Wii, him on DS. I can only play it with him though and I get to see him about 1-2 times a week lol -.-
