Portal 2 is just as good if not better then Portal 1 and this is coming from a very non-puzzle person. Play the first, then wait a bit, and play the second, it was really good.

Just beat Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. Great game. Now playing Paper Mario. This game gets a lot of stuff right but also manages to be irritating in a lot of ways.

It's pretty solid. It comes with the remake version by default, as well as the original game and SotN remade/localized (though the script was a bit better, I didn't like Alucard's new voice - the original guy was better, even if the speech was a bit flowery)

So, regarding Uncharted, what do others here recommend? Is it a game series such that it should be played through from the first game onward? Or I can jump straight into playing the third one first?

Yes, start from the first game... I got a ps3 with Uncharted 3 and I bought uncharted1/2 bundle. I played 1 - 3 from start to end in like 4 - 5 days. They are phenomenol games... and I usually don't enjoy games like them.

Gabe Newell is talking up the idea of Valve having their own Steam-oriented console and stated that were it to happen it would be mod-community friendly.

ff this happens, I will never even look in the direction of MS and Sony again and I'm pretty they could get a lot of third parties on-board.

He pretty much destroys Ubisoft. Lots of valid points.

BG&E2 has become something Ubi holds for ransom every other Rayman or HD remake they release, yet never makes good on that no matter how well they do or don't do. And they were the geniuses that released Rayman Origins alongside a dozen other huge games during the holiday. The do an HD port of BG&E, but don't really bother to make it a proper HD port and leave text boxes and menus in their SD presentation.

Oh and Dungeon Hunter is a Vita launch title. For $39.99. This is a 99 cent iOS game. They always have a swath of crap ports ready for launch, 3DS and now Vita being no exception to that. I'm amazed they don't already have a dozen Imagine or Language/Quit Smoking Coaches out for the 3DS already - because crapping out shovelware is all they really do. I'm doubtful the Vita port of Rayman Origins even got any love and attention, though perhaps there's the odd chance it did, but its still selling at a price too rich for most people these days and its really only a price Mario can get away with anymore.

I sometimes wonder why people always say they can never find good games for the Nintendo DS - because there are plenty of amazing games out for it - but that would be because they're all obscured by the massive level of shit that Ubisoft cranked out for it. Have you tried to organize a DS section of a store? Jut about every other title you'll have in your hands is some crud Ubisoft pushed out the door for a fast buck. Its no small wonder people can't find Etrian Odyssey and 999 when this is what you have to deal with.

The last time I bought an Ubisoft game - and it is the last time - was Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes. And that's because as good as that game was it was actually just a swindle - a broken game serving as a staging point for a quick HD update that didn't even really fix all the game's problems. You would sooner find me with new EA games in my hands than one from Ubisoft.

The fact that they can also take what is regarded as the best Splinter Cell game and give it a terrible port is not helping them, nor is the fact that they've iterated Assassin's Creed to a level that makes Kingdom Hearts seem reasonable.

Just picked up MGS 3D Snake Eater.

Gameplay framerate is much more stable than the demo and 90 percent of the horrible aliasing the the demo is also gone. I had faith Kojima Productions wouldn't let this one slip out looking bad. The cutscenes are a bit more stable, though choppy in the places the PS2 version was. Character models are improved and the use of 3D really does give Mario 3D Land and RE; Revelations a run for their money.

I'm trying to figure out what the new easter eggs are. You know that bit at the start of Subsistence where you have the "I like MGS!" or "I like MGS2!" options? Those are in here, but they took it further than Subsistence and the HD Collection, there are easter eggs for MGS4 and Peacewalker, too. If I had to venture a guess picking MGS4 could unlock Octocamo or an iPod at some point, but I haven't seen a difference in what it affects yet. I have no clue what they could add from Peacewalker for reference.

Sadly my Circle Pad Pro did not come in today and won't be there til Thursday.

The Photo Camo feature is fun to toy with, if a little slow, but I imagine that's because it has to covert the photos from the 3DS camera channel and then analyze and rate that new camo for where it will be useful in the game. I used an image I saved from Mario 3D Land and Snake now has Bowser Camo.

Yay someone else who hates Ubi

Heroes M&M VI was the last purchase for me, at least until they prove themselves capable of making a good iteration in that series to at least match the quality of 3. V could have done it but they went and screwed up the campaign royally. VI just has all kinds of problems, despite some very good overhauls (like simplifying resources to 3 types instead of 7 and easing recruitment across your towns). The AI cheats worse than ever before, and don't even get me started on the DRM which is pretty much universally hated.

As far as AC goes, 3 is going to be the make-or-break point. After playing with Ezio for the last 3 games with only minor gameplay tweaks, they need to do something big.
