Mine is (as far as I know, it was advertised as such) and whenever I boot up my PS3 I get a little window in the top right that says 1080p - my TV automatically adjusts to the max possible/best-looking resolution available.

Which I find a little odd when playing PS3 games since they aren't all 1080p, but I never see it switch to 720 like it does with my 360 (dashboard comes up 1080 but then it switches to 720 I believe, gonna double check in a second)

EDIT: Nope, nevermind, it stays at 1080p for 360 too. Only switches to 720 for regular TV.

Shizune path-not-a-dick done; have a save file after the be-a-dick option to go back and enjoy later. Yet again Katawa Shoujo shows it can be extremely class about the disability aspect, while also not ignoring it, and being perfectly lolclassless when it needs to be.

FFXIII-2 demo on 360 tries to be as seamless in everything as the PS3 version, but doesn't always succeed. If there's too many effects happening in a fully-rendered cutscene, it starts to get a little choppy. They seemed to to actually salvage this for the QTE bits, but not scenes where QTE isn't involved, which if this holds for the full game, is good because there are a lot of scenes where QTEs just pop up.

When too many effects are going off in the cuteness, SE seems to think throwing some bloom effects at it will make it less noticeable. It doesn't help.

As far as in-game stuff goes, combat and field navigation looks exactly the same. That's about it. So the PS3 version is better, but before anyone goes around making wild claims that the 360 version somehow affected the PS3 version negatively - it didn't. SE seemed to seriously try to make both equal as they could, but the 360 version is just a few paces behind on the frills. I guess it will really just matter to those people who care about FFXIII's story, because I sure don't.

Still I'm very interested in XIII-2 for its time-travel, combat and a load of mini-games we haven't seen since FFX-2. This time you actually get to raise and race chocobos instead of playing monkey matchmaker, though.

Speaking of XIII, I'm almost done with my 100% completion run. Just have to do the last few missions and then farm turtles for a couple years. 100% datalog too!

Games that I'm playing: World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy 9 , Final Fantasy 10 Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 And just dl'ed the Trial for FF11 (Yup never completed them games I listed, so still play them )

Why?

Well, it is a good question, haha. I usually like to be able to see all the things there is to see in a game. So if parts of the datalog are missing or "???", it makes it feel like I've missed out on something. Just a personal preference. Although I also completed an Excalibur II perfect game in IX, so maybe I am a little crazy.

Your point? At least the Trophy's are some form of reward/status - having a 100% datalog doesn't get you anything, other than perhaps a misguided sense of satisfaction

Kingdoms of Amalur has a online pass. Skipping it now.

Seriously, its a single player RPG and they block out seven quests with the online pass. This along with the ME3 armor that was supposed to be unlocked by playing the Demo, which amounts to false advertising in my mind (even if it was probably crap like all special armor).

I was hoping that this game would be an exception to the bullshit, but I guess there are no more exceptions with EA.

Its a shame, because this would have been a great action-based alternative to Skyrim, but now I doubt its going to get noticed when games like Skyrim and Dark Souls still have a great deal of hype and strong word of mouth and no online passes that take away features from gamers.

Shit, online pass? I was looking to get this for PS3, but I can't access the internet with my PS3 (launch PS3, no wifi, etc). That sucks. The game still looks like super fun though. Maybe I can scam a copy from a friend that works in EA.

I've been having an increasing urge to return to WoW. So many more bad memories than good, but it's the same few good ones that make the game seem so attractive.

It's EA, what did you expect? Even if the devs didn't want it EA undoubtedly forced them to do it.

So far the only game to have honestly shocked me with an online pass has been Uncharted 3 - didn't see Naughty Dog going that route
