Coming up on the end of FF4: The After Years. Can't decide who to give Dualcast to, though it doesn't matter really since I"m not using any of the 3 that can use it anyway lol. I wouldn't mind giving it to Porom to replace Rosa, but Rosa is already around lv 73 and Porom is 25 rofl.


Might do a completionist run afterwards (basically grinding my finished tales to max out items/stats and then import those to restart the final chapters again) but idk.

I have to say the Band system is one of the best things SE's ever done and I would love to see it come back. Not since FF6 has SE made an RPG with a large (but not TOO large) cast of playable characters that are largley worth using and mixing around.

Quite a few bands are gotten from story events however, which is rather annoying. @_@ they even added one called "Final Fantasy" (not kidding that's what it's called) with Cecil Rosa Kain Edge & Rydia all attacking together dealing damage based on everyone's current HP. It's kinda shitty though tbh, as even though it has Limit Break (does over 9999 dmg) it consumes 75 MP from every member, takes a while to charge since it basically requires the full party and leaves you open to attack while waiting on it which will basically lower the damage it does.


Still, the plot was OK (not their best work but passable) and the cast was decent. I hereby demand however that SE make Holy Dragoon a class >_> Kain is freaking amazing now.

As I said before modern games are starting to piss me off..... bad releases, poor quality, and most of all glitchy releases by lazy programers (talking about you Dead Island)...... so I decided to go back to my roots as a gamer and start my collection of retro consoles and games........ My first system, the TG-16 (still looking for CD addon -.-)

Well my Turbo Graphix 16 has arrived, so what am I playing right now?

Picked up Star Fox 64 3D Friday. Solid update to the original overall, though your milage may vary in regards to the optional gyro controls. I think they added more to Zelda than Star Fox. The 3DS really seems to shine with flight based games and shmups, so I guess its good that Ace Combat and the spiritual sequel to Nanostray hit 3DS in November.

Playing Space Marines and enjoying the awesome, bloody carnage. Kind of hard not to play this without a huge grin across your face as you heroically obilterate wave after wave of orks. The online action so far is fun as well and I'm usually the last person to enjoy online FPS's so this was a welcome surprise for me.

While I didn't play more than the demo for Warhammer, I was rather impressed with the polish and production values the game was displaying for being the licensed game that it is that usually gets pure drivel given its based on a tabletop/pen-and-paper game.

It felt pretty basic as hack-n-slash stuff goes, but I guess I can be happy for its fans even if its nothing something I'd rush out and buy myself

Went out and bought Deus Ex. The trailers enticed me a while ago. I'm liking the detail of the world. I've had a hankering to play a 1st person. I like that it's more about sneaking around and figuring out how to deal with the baddies. Found out I'll have to re-train myself to save-save-save-save... all the time. Anytime I get past anything... save. I'm kinda unimpressed with the CS quality. The people you talk to are all twitchy like meth addicts. I kinda expected better on the CS front. They aren't terrible. But they kinda remind me of Too Human CS which was absolutely panned even though I enjoyed it. Idk... I'm not very far at all. I'm hoping that I like it more and more as the story progresses.

The Diablo 3 Beta is officially up, though it's in a "friends & family" mode atm. Hopefully public access will be soon...

I used to be really interested in Diablo 3 ... but that was back about 6-8 yrs ago. Wish they'd come up with a console version, myself. I know that a majority of Diabloians might not go for that though.

About 15 years late but I can finally beat Streets of Rage consistently (on Hard, even!). I didn't have the necessary brain cells to figure out how to beat the bosses without losing multiple lives back when the Genesis was relevant.

Look up Streets of Rage Remake, it is pretty sweet, but you have have to hunt for it now, Sega made the creator take it down.

Joking aside, I'm still not quite over DX:HR. Pretty much every time I start up another game I start reaching for it, thinking about all the other ways I could approach it.

I felt like I was forcing my way through Mass Effect 2 for a while after playing DX, but I finally go to some of the loyalty missions. Characters still aren't quite as fleshed-out as they were in DA:O or KOTOR, though. Probably the result of Shepard having a voice (well two, actually). I liked the bickering of Allister and Morrigan and the regular sadistic chiming-in of Candorous and HK-47 better. If the protagonist shutting the fuck up brings that part of the Bioware experience back, they should go for it.

I gotta say the Australian (or Brittish... arguably) accent on every character is refreshing, ahah

Gotta love the repetitive "Eh" that characters will say when an enemy is resistant to their attacks... you basically have everyone going "Eh" multiple times a second, after a while it feels like the developers were just trying to mess with your head...

But i gotta say its one of the few voice overs in english that i find especially well done, even though the dialogue is cheese as JRPG's get.

After Skyward Sword is out, I'm pretty much modding my Wii for imports. I'm done waiting on Reggie.

If they come the US anyway, I'll see about supporting them when they do. I just want to see Xenoblade, The Last Story, Pandora's Tower and Earth Seeker all make it stateside.

In the meantime, there is Solatorobo for the DS fairly soon. Xseed brought it over.

Side note: Persona and Persona 3 Portable (both for PSP) are on sale this week on PSN for $19.99. I needed digital versions for whenever I'm getting a Vita, so now's as good a time as any, I suppose.
