  • Re: What games are you currently playing?

I haven't currently been playing anything actively, but, up until recently I've been playing Radiata Stories and i plan on starting FFX as soon as my lazy brother gets around to bringing his copy to me.

Please don't ruin any of the story for FFX for me. This will be my first time playing through any game in the FF series... so I want to learn everything as I go.

Should I finish Radiata before I start FFX... or is FFX going to be more fun to play and more worth my time?

Gee... its a good thing I have no idea who that is yet... considering I haven't started playing... but I have a feeling that you just gave away something important. If that's the case... I have only this to say to you:

        You sir... are an ass-hat.

If I'm wrong... you can replace that with the following:

You sir... are not as much of an ass-hat as previously thought.

        That is all.

Well, the speed boosting part, the shinesparking stuff isn't as in-depth as it could get in Super Metroid and Metroid Zero Mission.

Of course not, but I wasn't about to complain - I was just happy to have it back.

Welp, I need some help guys. I have a decently sized backlog of games I need to play. Here are a few of them:

                      Crisis Core
                      Dissidia
                      Final Fantasy I & II
                      Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
                      Kingdom Hearts RE:Coded
                      Bioshock
                      Blazing Angels 2
                      Gran Turismo 5
                      Final Fantasy VI
                      Persona 4

                      Which should I start first?

                        Hello,

Aside from Final Fantasy XI in the evenings & on my days off, I occupy my downtime with Pokemon SoulSilver.

                            Which should I start first?
Well, if time-wise, I'd say Crisis Core was the fastest to complete as well as being very enjoyable in the process, its about 20 hours to complete.

Dissidia.... I guess it depends how much you want to see the story, only levels are going to transfer over into Duodecim, so you could probably knock out the story just as quickly as Crisis Core if not just a few hours longer than that. If you skip some of the other character stories, you can see the end of the main storyline a bit faster (The Inward Chaos stuff that comes after isn't worth the effort), but I think you have to beat all 10 character stories to challenge Shantotto and Gabranth to unlock them, though.

Final Fantasy VI I'd play before the other two FFs on your list - of the three its the one that's aged the best.

save 358/2 Days and Re:Coded for later, ya got time before DDD and BBS Vol. 2 hit.

I'd make Persona 4 a priority over all of them, though, if you've not played Persona or SMT games before, its quite a different and refreshing experience from many JRPGs. Great story, fun combat system - but a bit grindy in places. You can get about 80 hours out of it.

Do any of the Persona games tie into each other story wise?

Also, thank you for all the info. Really helps me narrow down my decision

                              • Re: What games are you currently playing?

Eh, with SMT and its Persona spin-offs there's really not a direct conenction between any of the games, only allusions.

There will be some Persona 3 references, but nothing that's going to impact the main story.

However, I would warn you that if you're going to play Persona 4 before playing Persona 3, make sure its Persona 3 Portable that you play as a follow-up. I say that because Persona 4 got a lot of refinements to its gameplay system and P3P got those refinements as well.

The PS2 version of P3 is very hard to go back to after playing P4 or P3P. Plus you can pick between the male and female protagonists for P3P.

The real turning point of the Persona series comes in P2 Innocent Sin and P2 Eternal Punishment. Saying how it affects P3 and P4 would be a tremendous spoiler, but rest assured that the characters in P3 and P4 don't know a damn thing about what happened there, either.
