Exdeath is actually pretty good once you can do something besides the faggy teleport attack. He's more of a guard-and-counter type character so the slow movement isn't as much of an issue for him.

OK, Dissidia is just too damn addictive. I seriously have not lost track of time playing a game like this in a while. I finished two Destiny Odyssey paths, then started a third and got half way, then I want into Quick Battle Mode and just levelled the crap out of Cecil Harvey. Six paths down, four to go before I go romping through the Chaos bit.

This game also gives you the ability to record, edit, make pictures from and covert replays into AVIs. Then you can trade cards with friends profiling your favorite character and it will emulate your playstyle and move set when they challenge them.

I guess I'm probably the only person here playing Fat Princess and the Transformers 2 game a lot huh?

While the movie may not have been much, the Rotf Multiplayer is incredibly fun. And with the DLC adding new characters and maps, it should be that much more awesome. Though I still have to pick up the new Batman game, as it's a work of art from everything I've seen.

I saw the new DLC trailer on gametrailers, that does look pretty awesome. How many peeps do you play against online and what are the game modes?

Also, I bought The Megas's new CD where they collaborated with Entertainment System called Megatainment. They did most of the themes from MegaMan 1 except Cut Man and Guts Man, but the ones they did were as good as the ones on the "Get Equipped" album. The Dr. Wily theme though is kickass and I really liked it. When I get home I'll check youtube and see if there are video links for the music.

You can have up to 8 people online at once, either in ranked pre-set matches or make your own rules hosted ones. It's basically the same kind of MP fights you find everywhere else, Team Deathmatch, free for all Deathmatch, Capture the Shards (allspark shards are scattered around the zone and you have to bring them all to your base), Control Points (5 specific spots on the map your team has to take) and One Will Stand, where a random team member will either be Prime or Megatron, and the other team has to kill the leader before being able to take out everyone else. If the leader is alive, the rest of the team can respawn, but once the leader dies, everyone else will stay dead.

You'll find the most competition and hardest fought battles in Team Deathmatch, unless you have a group of friends to play with. And with the ability to be any one of a number of movie based (and now G1) bots, all with unique weapons, abilities and stats, each match can be real fun. Sideways (the silver Decepticon Car) and Grindor (the tan helicopter) are two of my favorites when it comes to the game. Sideways because his small size and sniper rifle and Grindor because of his pop out turret and maneuverability. Though with Movie Jazz in the line up, I may finally have an Autobot I'd enjoy playing as.

Can someone please for the love of God tell me how to play defensively in this game?

I feel like I'm just flailing uselessly every time I try to block or evade an attack (especially in the air) while the PC just seems to cheat to no end blocking every god damn attack I try @-@ (and no, I am NOT new to fighters; I was a pretty hardcore MvC addict back in highschool and SFA3) I love Squall because he rushes in for close (and deadly as hell) melee attacks but it's so aggravating when the AI just either blocks every swing or magically jumps around me. Don't even get me started on Golbez and that cheapshit lightning move he uses every time you get even remotely close...

                      • Re: What games are you currently playing?

There's a certain amount of patience needed with some fights in Dissidia. Some enemies are move evasive because they have the Abiliites set to move more quickly than their initial manikin forms. Especially rare board pieces (they appear in gold and have some ramped-up stats. Its really just a matter of finding a part of a level where its hard to just flat-out evade an attack, especially where its hard to avoid draw-in or launch maneuvers.

I'm rather partial to Cecil's basic draw-attack, as well as Firion's because they link up nicely with other bravery attacks. But even with Squall, you'll want to find similar skills so you can back off and play a distance game when you need to. I don't know if Squall has any draw-ins early on, but he's got launch moves.

I play on the hardest setting, but don't see too many blocks, just lots of misjudged ranges on my part.

Also, I hate Bartz. He does have one of the easier EX Bursts, though.

I got an mognet email regarding Benjamin the Moogle's quest to find out who robbed him He thought an animal-like person did it, so I chose the option for him to look into "those catgirls" and he met Nanaa Mihgo. He said she was too cute to be capable of something like that. Ha.

I've been playing Fat Princess a bit. it's pretty fun

                          Other stuff I've been playing:

                          FFIVDS

At the Dark Elf battle. It's pretty annoying since I need to grind due to the stupid equipment restrictions and there are no areas open right now that really give any worthwhile exp.

                          Warhammer Online

A friend of mine introduced me to it and I thought i'd give it a try. it's a fun game though FFXI is probabaly still my favourite MMO for now. Right now I'm just messing with different classes on it. You can have 10 characters per account. So far I've enjoyed the Bright Wizard, Sorceress and Shadow Hunter jobs. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue once my trial is up though it does make a nice change to FFXI all the time.

Call of Duty World at War

I've been playing this a lot recently mostly to just finish the game and I've been pretty underwhelmed. Multiplayer is meh and the single player is either ridiculously easy (any level where you are given a flamethrower) or ridiculously hard (any of the dark gloomy greyathon Russian levels).

The main issue I have the the game is the title to start: World at War. Everything about the game implies an awesome epic WW2 game yet you only ever play as the US and the Russians. That is it. According to Activision they were the only people involved in WW2. Where are the British? The Canadians? Australians? Polish? The game is called World at War yet it imples that fighting only ever took place in Stalingrad, Berlin and Okinawa. What happened to CoD? In the old games you would see battles in most of the thretres in WW2 and you would be playing as different forces?

The old CoD games also made you grow attached to your squad members and youactually cared if one died. in "World" at War you honestly never give a toss about your squad members because all they are good for is running into walls repeatedly, running into machine gun fire repeatedly and running into sniper fire repeatedly which is OK because they respawn for some reason and then they magically appear beside you when you did all of the fucking work to take the heavily fortified buker on the ridge that several hundred of these respawning sqaud members have been killed.

The game also claims to be realistic. I took this with a suitably large pinch of salt but as soon as I saw a message saying: "You were killed by an exploding barrel. Red Barrels explode when shot" I lost all faith in that. The game also implies that the entire Japanese army were armed with SMGs and the only time they bothered to carry a rifle is when they wanted to charge at the guy holding a very large flamethrower. Well done Activision, well done.

Multiplayer is also underwhelming. It has that rank up system from CoD4 but unlike CoD4 where only a few weapons were locked out WaW goes in the other direction. You wanted to be a machine gunner? Oh sorry you need to gank some people for the exp. You wanted to snpie? Oh sorry no you aren't teh leets enough until you gank more people for exp. Wait you wanted to start with a weapon other than a shitty little pistol? Oh dear we at Activision hate you, you won't even get the M1 garand which was the standard issue rifle for the US in WW2. No sorry Activision apparently thinks that Uncle Sam hated his troops and only gave them random Japanese pistols until they went out there and shot some Japanese.

The AI just seems to cheat at a baffling rate sometimes...

I had a battle where the DP condition was win without taking damage in Firion's path (and btw, holy shit is he a lot more bad ass than I thought he'd be. His default attack with that lightning grip thing is ridiculous O.O) against an Emperor manikin. Well, I scored a brave break almost immediately and knocked him down to 1 HP... and it just went all to shit from there. I could not land a single god damn HP attack with that Bow of his; even after tripping him up with some brave attacks (to force him into dodging) and then following up with an HP, absolutely nothing would hit.

I also thought it was pretty cheap how Straight Arrow can't break through Flare, but other attacks can break through mine... the hell?

                            Finally, sometime later today I (or you can if you like BBQ, just SOMEONE) am gonna start an "official" Dissida thread for discussing tactics, friend cards, the plot etc. The good news is SE is already considering a sequel because of how well the game sold in Japan. There are a lot more characters I wish they'd add, and maybe a few changes they should have made to the original;

                            - Why Ultimecia? Ok, she's the "main villain" of VIII, but IMO Seifer would have made a hell of a lot more sense since they are going for people with close ties.

                            Characters that would be interesting to add;

                            - Zack, to further flesh out things between Cloud and himself (and because he's just bad ass ^^)

                            - Seifer, same as above but between him and Squall

                            - Galuf (maybe dig into his past a bit more?)

                            - GoGo (only because he'd be very interesting to play as)

                            - Beatrix (either her or Leo, but I vote Beatrix)

                            - Gau (similar reasons as Gogo. Most of 6's cast would be great actually)

                            - Kain (make him a good guy, but keep the tension between Cecil and himself)

                            - Yuna (and maybe Seymour? idk)

                            - Cid (but which one? We need a Cid lol!)

Seifer would have been yet another sword-wielder and the game was already short on mages and very heavy on warrior types. Granted, each character has been given their own specializations but it would have still been nice to see more class variety.

Zack would just be another Cloud/Sephiroth type, I think Vincent would be a better choice, you could set him up against Hojo-Weiss. I know that's reaching into the compilation a bit, but there weren't really any other mega-baddies in the original FFVII worth picking. Plus I like the contradiction of bringing in someone that can turn into Chaos, but on the side of the heroes

Yeah I figured they went with Ultimecia because of the different playstyle, but thematically Seifer was the better match up by far. And I just plain Zack over Cloud, he's so the better character X.x
