The DS Disgaea remake. I had to wear earphones while playing it at first - even with everything at maximum volume settings, that game is much more quiet than it should be! Furthermore, some of the voicing was cut for some reason, which just kills the effect the voices had in the original (yes, I once owned and played the original Disgaea: Hour of Darkness for the PS2. This was back when I still had a PS2. I did not lose my PS2 + PS2 games by my own will, either). All in all, just a bit disappointed.

Also, with all the nostalgia I had about it upon purchase, I had forgotten how absurd the leveling system in that game was. >.>

On a huge nostalgia kick, so been playing this at the current second, along with plenty of other NES games.

God, old school gaming really brings me back.

Also, some post on BG have piqued my interest about Aion. I'm almost tempted to try it. Too bad I'm frigging broke and I can't really start up another MMO. God damn, I wish I would just win the lottery so I could stay home all day and play all the video games I want.

You'd be more likely to get rich by setting aside money to buy the next lottery ticket when it comes out, but never actually buying any tickets.

I really just like how it looks, honestly. I don't know if the gameplay is any good, but I've heard good things. It does look amazing graphically though.

Chrono Trigger DS. Because it's still a fucking amazing game and the DS version is even amazinger. And Xenogears interrupted my DS playthrough.

got a few things going on.

Still have LifeLine in my to-finish pile. Need to get on that.

Put Sly Cooper away. It's a pretty good platformer. The problem is that at some point someone said 'you know what? fuck platforming. let's do VEHICLE BASED MINIGAMES.'. Which control terribly, are needlessly difficult, and frankly detract from the entire game. I'm glad I played the platforming bits that I did, but these missions are just too much.

Playing Max Payne. Not much to say about it. It's much cheesier than I was expecting. And Chapter 2's prologue is just a pain in the ass. You have to walk along a very fine line, with very little in the way of good visibility on camera (unless you're constantly manipulating it to keep it in line), and if you stray in the slightest, you fall off and must repeat it. Other than that it's pretty tolerable.

Also started Robot Alchemic drive. Much longer than I was expecting. And absolutely fucking hilarious. Especially when it gives you a chance to torture other characters.

Finished Devil Survivor's Neutral ending, gonna put it away and save the New Game Plus goodness for later. I get to keep all my learned abilties, the demons I ended with (fuck yes) and I think my Demon Auction progress.

Too bad I didn't learn how to fuse to make Metatron and Shiva, though, they're so kickass in these games. Ended with them in my team on Nocturne. I fought Shiva in Devil Survivor and got a threatening email from Metatron, but that was the best it got from them based on my progress. Yeah, Metatron apparently deals in email.

Moving on to Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and putting Etrian Odyssey and Devil Summoner 2 back in rotation. Its hard for me to commit at time to a PS2 game given the hours I have scheduled at work, but I want to get through Devil Summoner 2 soon.

Also started Robot Alchemic drive. Much longer than I was expecting. And absolutely fucking hilarious. Especially when it gives you a chance to torture other characters.

Freaking loved that game. It's one of the few games I've actually played that gave you a real sense of scale as to how big a giant robot actually is. Between that and the unique controls, it's one of my favorite giant robot games out there. Wish they'd come out with a next gen version of it, or at least some sort of sequel/remake/re-release. I need more RAD in my life, and nothin says lovin like rocket punching an enemy giant robot and then dancing over his lumbering corpse.

Finished my "full" playthrough of CT DS. The new dungeons were pretty neat, the new quest lines were par for the course (lots of time traveling to help people) and the new bosses and ending dumped some major Chrono Cross semi-spoilers on me. Not that I didn't ask for it - deep down I knew what I was getting into. But it raised more questions than answers, so they don't really "spoil" it for me. Downloading CC right now, I need to know what that was all about. I can't put off playing it much longer after seeing all that stuff.

Finally finished up Mad World the other night. The last boss was perfect, absolutely perfect for the game. The credits were quite an amusing novelty as well. Overall I'd say it was a satisfying game, even if it was a bit short.

Now I'm just slogging through FFTA again to kill time. I should find something else.
