FF 4 was too ez. You just gotta know the tricks to each boss fight =3

I hated it at first, but OMG is Darkness so much better now that it functions like Soul Eater. Especially since you can teach it to anyone after Cecil becomes a PLD (Kain abuses it so hard with Jump & Limit Break it's not funny...) Personally, I found the 3D was better done than it was in 3 and the voice acting was top notch. Kain's voice was perfect.

*sigh* there's nothing terribly new/exciting due out soon, so I'm stuck with FF XI and Halo Wars. At least until I feel like finishing onimusha 2 and starting 3.

What can you expect from a game based on a movie? Gears of War, pretty much. It plays almost exactly like it, though with seemingly a lot less thought put into it. Each opportunity to actually play the game is entrenched in cutscenes, which can sometimes be skipped depending on what kind of scene. Dieing is something that should be avoided at all costs. After a long load you're thrown into the game at an odd moment or tossed straight back before a sequence of long, unskippable cutscenes. For the most part, the game is about engaging either flying robots or spider robots in different settings. Occasionally, you're attacked by something not so run of the mill. The graphics aren't terrible, but the animations are rather plain.

Why would anybody play this game? Well, if you're playing on the PS3, each completed mission rewards you with a gold trophy. Completing the entire campaign is another gold trophy, and completing it on hard is yet another. Attaining every gold trophy rewards you with a platinum trophy. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, your co-op partner CAN NOT log in to receive credit for your hard work. Lame.

Ok, I can almost understand the obsession with getting achievements on 360 for the sake of gamerscore, but why in the world are PS3 users so obsessed with getting trophies? And raging over every game that doesn't have them.

Maybe it's because I've never used a console with an achievement system, and the ones that I've seen in games seem like fun diversions at best, but seriously. Why the big deal?

Personally, decided to give my PS2 a break and do Majora's Mask. Maaaaaaaaaajoraaaaaaaaaa's Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaask. Completed the first cycle and saved at an owl statue. Almost wondering why the classic controller didn't go with a six button layout, though. Would've fit N64 and Genesis games perfectly. Oh well, still a great game, even if the controls are a bit awkward.

There's a score or level associated with your PSN ID as well, and they display the amount of trophies you've attained as well. Most of the time platinum trophies are awarded for completing huge lists of trophy-worthy tasks, but here the list of tasks is extremely small.

A lot of trophies will also unlock various room decorations for Home so if you play Home you have a bit of an incentive to play other than for E-Peen.

Oh and: Pokemon Diamond I haz it. If anyone else plays and wants to know my friend code let me know via PM and I'll send it to you as soon as I reach the point where I can unlock my FC.

Home is pretty damn pointless. It's basically a place where friends can group up before launching into a game.

I could never be bothered to download Home so i honestly wouldn't know. I can never be bothered with achievements anyway. They have practically ruined online gaming. There was a time in Gears of War where people would be screaming down the mic at you if you didn't let them kill the last person they needed to kill with X weapon for some more e-peen. It ruined an otherwise genuinely fun game to play online.

I have no idea if it's still prevalent as my 360 has been bricked since October and currently serves as a £300 book end since M$ will only fix RRoD'd 360's for free. It's a shame since I can't play Mass Effect or Portal anymore (since Valve screwed up with the PS3 port) but I'm fairly sure that I can cope with not being able to play two whole videogames though not being able to try out Left for Dead or Last Remnant does suck a lot.

I downloaded Home only to realize I couldn't make any purchases (back when MX wasn't supported), and although I wasn't really interested in buying anything at the time that kinda restrictions along with the lack of content just killed it for me.

Now MX is supported, but it's already too late.



Which reminds me I have to delete Home already to free up some HDD space. Well played Sony, well played.

Home I think was Sony's "Mii" concept merged with a lifeless version of Second Life that lets you do Wii Sports-like activities minus the Wiimote. I really don't know what Sony was thinking when they thought this was a cool idea, but its not that cool of an idea.

I knew some people that got excited that they added poker tables to Home.

Really. It was sad.

I was excited about Home up until the point they went Second Life -1 with Games. Clothing and other things for purchase but nothing of actual gaming worth.

Customizing my room with a bigger TV or getting that really cool (and statless) chair? Yeah! Every gamer would love to pay real money for that!



Although I admit I haven't logged on recently so I don't know if things have improved. But if I was to compare Home to any other game that'd have to be Matrix Online.

Lots of clothing, but no substance. And a crappy client/inteface.

I was referring to the fact that 'knew' is the past tense of 'know'. As in, "after that, I couldn't stay friends with them.".

Picked up Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia and my copy of Steal Princess came in from Amazon today. So far very pleased with both game. Steal Princess actually has a map editor in which you can share levels via NWFC. The game itself had a limited retail release, so best to order it online if it piques your interest at all.

Still, I'm curious why Marvelous Interactive didn't publish it themselves, its got a lot of charm going for it.
