Just finished Dragon Quest IV. I always get too into killing King Metal Slimes and end up overleveled for the last boss in DQ games. Was considering starting up Luminous Arc 2 next, but I think I am going to hold off on other DS games until Dragon Quest V.

Picked up Ninja Gaiden Sigma for some small amount of money at Circuit City last week so I'll probably work on finishing that before Star Ocean 4 comes out. Might be able to finish Lament of Innocence in that amount of time too as I am pretty sure last time I played it I was more than halfway through the game. Either way, SO4 will pretty much take priority once I pick it up so I don't want to get into another RPG that I wont have time to finish by then.

Well... I'm feeling a bit burnt from FFxi lately. Too many failz for stupid reasons. Kinda weery of always being the "helper" yet never the "helped" so ... I've been going back to the games I've ignored that I should be playing.

Fallout 3 - Unbelievably fun... course I loved the Elder Scrolls 3 & 4. I'm not very far yet but so far I'm really enjoying myself. I shelved this game for a few weeks on account of the horribly slow start... then when I finally emerged into the wastes all I saw was blackness. Why the developers even made it a chance you'd emerge at night, I'll never understand. I played a long time in that murky darkness and chalked the game up to "Meh" ... anyway popped it in weeks later and left to do the dishes, came back and daylight had come... Amazing.

Monster Hunter 2 - So my buddy who got me hooked on FFxi upgraded his PSP and sold me his oldie to take on my trip to NY ... Lovin this game. There's quite a few aspects I still have absolutely no idea what to do with but so far very cool lil RPG bereft of story (I guess) I'm only on the second tier of quests from the Mayor... I don't yet understand how to stack skills to use them or use ornaments or combine... So I'm a totally nooblet imHo, but still having a blast.

FFI - yes the first one... Played this decades ago. Glad to see I now get to play it again all "suped-up". Funny how they kinda added more story than the original... still the same events but more text to justify wtf yer doing lol ... I saw they also had a FF2 re-do but I wanted the packaging too so I didn't get that "must have".

Castle Crashers - When it came out, it was somewhat broken... I never encountered any of the flaws but I stopped playing when the the possibility of my buddies ever playing it dwindled to NEVER... damn them and their stupid twitch-skill shooters. Got back into it recently solo'n and it's deeper than I had thought. Lotsa unlockables and more importantly lotsa funny ass sh!t, quite literally. I haven't seen an animal yet that didn't have the squirts for some reason.

F.E.A.R. 2 demo - scared the BeJeebers outta me... damn hallway full of lockers made me squeal like a 6 yr old girl in a horse-glue factory. Won't be buying but I'm tempted to rent this. Tanking around in a Mech suit near the end was pretty damn nifty too.

Resident Evil 5 demo - a very pretty piece of retro imHo... never got into the series, wasn't impressed when I played 4 on the Wii and definitely know I will never will. Hated the controls. Too clunky. Won't get into stop/shoot crap. Really didn't like the discrepancy between the CS showing the zombie horde as agile running crazies, then the gameplay happens and they are slow and plodding. But even if they were the same as the CS, that would only make the clunky controls that much more frustrating. Mainly left with the impression of - Bring on DEAD RISING 2 already Capcom!!!

Geometry Wars 2 - By the Gods... Have I hated a game more than I do this one? ...yet why can't I put you down? I have invented swear combos never discovered by truckers or sailors for the evil EVIL developers. GeoWars has caused me more anger than anything I've encountered. So why must I constantly throw myself into the battle I have no chance of winning.... merely lasting longer. Ugh... I'm a slave.

Castlevania: SotN - Alucard, I u ... I can continue playing this like a familiar blanket til I die. 1st time I played this was at my buddies house when it came out. I thought I had beaten it... when it was re-released for XBLA I found out I'd only gotten through less than 1/2 the battle. Absolutely brilliant game... and incredible when you get to the "flip" side.

I'm in the midst of SMT: Nocturne's endgame.

Someone out there somewhere said that Dante sucked and wasn't worth a slot in your selection of PT members, that he'd be surpassed shortly by better demons.

I so don't agree. Dude can debuff enemies defenses and refill his own MP at the same time. He has some of the best moves in the game.

I think the guy just didn't like him because you couldn't share his skills with anyone else. I'm using Dante, Thor, Uriel, Black Frost and Daisoujou most of the time right now.

Now, I'm working on grinding macca so I can get the Kalilash magatama and quest the final magatama after getting it.

I think I can only get two endings from where I am and what saves I have, but no matter, the New Game + mode seems to have enough reasons for me to go back and do it all again. No level restrictions on Fusions and purchasing from the compendium on the next go-round will be quite helpful.

Just beat FFX. Game would've been twenty times better had they taken out the goddamned minigames and replaced it with more endgame content.

Monster Arena in FFX pretty much is the endgame content. Its where some of the best weapon synthesis items are. After a while, anything in there can rape you.

                  EDIT:

Fuck you Isamu and your crazy space cow, too.

                      Wrong.

I doubt there's enough room on the disk for dual audio/video (didn't look like they redid lip motions, but they should've), but even if there were, it wouldn't have fixed the game. The dub was poor, but it wasn't gamebreaking. The gameplay was.

There are, but at least they fail with style.

According to the Japanese players I know that did play FFX, the Japanese dub wasn't much better. The English dub had high points and low points (mostly Yuna), but most of the cast was fairly strong.

And I don't see what was wrong with FFX's gameplay considering the battle system was one of the strongest out there for its time.

Battle system was pretty great, but gameplay suffers from a lack of diversity, and absolutely appalling minigames (the chocobo race would've ALMOST been acceptable had the controls not been shit, as one example). The camera also bugged me at points. I mean, I cleared the game, and other than grinding through some pokemans, there's really nothing there for me; and I spent maybe three or four hours doing side quests.
