Last game I played was Smash Brothers Brawl a couple of days ago at a friend's place. Been working on my Yoshi a bit - nobody ever expects the Yoshi spike the first time around~.

I'm still playing Red Dead Redemption. The single-player is good, but the multiplayer is another story. The best way to gain experience is by repeatedly running through gang hide-outs as fast as you can. This is really no different than running the same instance over and over in WoW. They even give you the option to repeat from the beginning. Competitive games are pretty painful. Every firearm in the game can be wildly inaccurate. I stress can, because it's really up to the game whether or not your shots hit, and whether or not they're head-shots. So playing competitive multiplayer is really hit or miss.

In one game we had a few guys pinned down in a barn. It was difficult firing at them through the open doors with pistols and rifles, so I went and fetched the sniper rifle. I was able to put each one down with a head-shot, mostly because they weren't expecting so much accuracy from any single player. They would hang out from the door, firing wildly, completely unaware that I had a sniper rifle. After that, I climbed up a tower and was picking them off, one by one. I was removed from the bulk of the map so I had a good distance to work with.

In another game, the mexican stand-off went horribly wrong because not a single player on the other team could be killed, or at least it seemed that way. These things usually only last a few seconds, but it timed out on us and not a single person on their side was dead. That's impossible, seeing as how we start off standing in front of each other. A few people, if not everybody on one team, dies at that point. Eventually people scatter, but not before people on both sides die. I, myself, but two cylinders into a guy from my revolver and he didn't go down. The rest of the match went basically the same way. Shooting, hitting, not killing. It was shit.

It's basically Modern Warfare 2 in the west. It's mostly shit.

P4 update: Did some grinding. Icemage, I tried to fuse that persona you recommended, something happened, Igor mentioned a "Wild Card", and I got some stupid powerful Starfish instead. Was pretty nice, although I still used Black Frost for most of that boss fight since it added about 50 points of damage to each Agidyne. Summer break etc. etc., looks like I start Naoto's dungeon in a couple days.

What's to get? TLR's battle system is actually pretty easy to grasp for the most part.


However, what I learned is despite what the game tells you you actually want to avoid long "levelling" sessions and building up a huge battle chain (unless you're going for the achievement) because that raises your battle rank, which in turns makes enemies (and more importantly Boss Battles) much harder.


The only time you should really grind for anything is skills with the Rush Grind Trick, which I suggest you look up over @ GameFAQs or w/e 'cause I can't remember the details other than it only works on the 360 version.

I guess it's more along the lines of enemies (especially at the lower levels) get to do crap you the game doesn't allow you to, i.e. Gang up on one member of the union, therefore killling that particular member and crippling the union itself.

Also, not allowing me to use potions/herbs/healing spells when a union is down to half HP really frustrates. >.<

As for the level grind, that's probably why I have rage quit the game a lot. It's a shame because I've enjoyed the story but I get into boss/rare monster battles and seeing enemies annihilate multiple unions with one attack really pisses me off. I may try start a new game and just run through it to see if it really is easier... but it's a habit to at least grind for a few hours here and there.

I'll look up this Rush Grind trick, I try to stay away from guides etc until I've at least finished a game once but TLR... yeah you get the idea.

Feba if you get the chance, create Lachesis, Clotho and Atropos and keep whatever AoE "Auto" abilities they learn (like Auto Masukukaja)- put them toward a three-way fusion to create Norn (see what they did there?)

Having Norn with the three AoE auto abilities for the party is hot because Norn also exclusively learns Debilitate, which lowers all three stat parameters on enemies. This makes the first three rounds of any big fight extremely advantageous for you.

If you can, find a way to fuse Null Zio onto one of the three sisters before fusing Norn - that or just have an item that nulls it - lots of bosses love to use lightning toward the endgame and Norn is weak to it. Even with the weakness open, though, Debilitate is worth the trouble of earning.

I'm on the true ending path to Order of Ecclesia now and have about 72 stars in Mario Galaxy. The fifth dungeon of Twilight Princess has also been faily amusing. While on one level, I'm not fooled by the "find the X number of people/items/enemies to advance to the core of the dungeon" motif this particular Zelda is sporting, I do like that they tried to make the dungeons feel like more than some dank, dark hole a bunch of monsters just happen to be guarding an artifact in.

This "dungeon" is a mansion were two yeti live, they are fairly friendly and even give me soup for all the wild goose chases the yeti wife sends me on.

I finished the main game in Mario Galaxy 2 and am now collecting all the optional stars. I put over 20 hours into it over the memorial day weekend. It's... really really good.

Actually no.

Anyway, beat Naoto's dungeon on the day it opened up, thanks to Maxed Yukiko S.Link. Fused a persona with Divine Grace, Diarahan, Medirama, and Samarecarm. Spent most of the fight using physical attacks to save MP for healing (since my SP was around half going in to the fight). Had a harrowing moment near the end where MC and Yosuke were nearly dead, Yukiko and Teddie were out, but managed to recover nicely. Don't think I used anything but a single Snuff Soul and maybe a couple Balms of Life. Only stopped by the fox once or twice; and that's including some farming in Void Quest.

100 stars into SMG2. Total blast, but some of them are getting pretty brutal. Prankster comets in Special World are downright evil. 21 left to go until a whole new 121 to collect.

Favorite so far was the Star in Melty Monster Galaxy where you had to do the whole thing as Rock Mario, rolling non-stop to the end.

I died SO MANY TIMES ON THAT ONE! Finally beat it; by the time I beat it I had 999 star bits lol.

I died a lot on it too lol. Ironically, the time I beat it, the cosmic guide had popped up, which added to the joy of getting the star.

I heard Grandmaster Galaxy is a doozy. I love a good challenge.

Yep, need all 240 Yellow and Green Stars to get it. It's Prankster Comet needs 9,999 Star bits in the bank to show up. ("The Perfect Run", Daredevil comet for Grandmaster Galaxy...eep)
