    Playing through Pokemon Soul Silver and having mixed feelings about the whole thing.

      I managed to play about 30 minutes of Sacred 2 before it up and crashed hard, and I just couldn't be hassled to try it again.

      I agree 150%! Not as pretty but absolutely challenging and immersive.
      Speaking of metric elephant-tons of hours to finish, have you actually looked at what a pain in the butt it really is to farm the stuff you need in this game? It got so bad for me that I had to come up with a creative solution for farming, because sitting there for 30 minutes at a time killing stuff over and over to never get the drop I needed was getting old way too fast.

      (So instead I spent hours farming for the energy hexes I need to connect enough terminals on Level 4, 5, and 6 together... I now have most of level 4 and 5 connected, with x1.5 and x2 normal item drops, x2 combat charge rate, and x2 rare item drop in effect. Need to advance a little more before I can activate the purple terminals and recolor them to green and add a Double Terminal Effect multiplier, at which point I hope things will improve dramatically.

        12 hours into Chrono Cross. Game went from sorta reasonable plot to WTF? plot in about 2 minutes after the epic scene on disc 1.
        Burning questions are burning: Is jenova_9 really a girl and is she cute? Does she talk like that in real life?

            Nope, this is my first play through, so everything I see will be a shock to me.

              Awesome! Enjoy it and stick with it even if it seems to drag at some points. It's worth it.

              Then go through it with a guide and see how many characters you can get. :D

                Finished Zelda Spirit Tracks and Okami.

                That brings me up to six games finished so far this year.

                My PS2 is now clear for Sakura Wars tomorrow.

                  Picked up Grim Grimoire. The first 5 days in the game go from very easy tutorial stuff to 'survive this onslaught for 20 minutes.'

                  It looks pretty neat so far though.
                  I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

                  HTTP Error 418 - I'm A Teapot - The resulting entity body MAY be short and stout.

                    got MadWorld; $8 new through Amazon. Also picked up Cursed Mountain and P4 (YES BBQ FINALLY I KNOW) from GS; probably not going to touch P4 until after Final though, since I know I'll get way too absorbed in it. One month 14 days. COME ON

                    Also MadWorld is pretty bitching, although it's pretty damn frustrating to have to repeat a level when you fail the boss-- they're fun to explore the first time, but after that they're pretty stale. It's definitely not No More heroes B&W Edition, it's got a wonderful style and gameplay all its own. I'd rate it ever so slightly below NMH, in the same way I'd rate Zelda ever so slightly below Okami.

                      Downloaded Torchlight on Steam for around $5 the other day. It's essentially Diablo with different graphics. Point and click hack and slash where much like Diablo the fighter type seems to be the best choice. It's cheap fun for 10-15 hours worth of gameplay.

                        Bad Company 2 and Final Fantasy XIII at the moment. I started playing FFXIII the day it came out and didn't get back around to it. I made it from chapter 2 to chapter 6 yesterday lol.

                          Its also made by the creators of Diablo and Diablo II, so there's a reason for the strong gameplay resemblance. Meanwhile "Blizzard" i going to take forever to get Diablo III out and probably release it in tiny pieces like they are StarCraft II.

                            Because it's not the product that matters, it's how you package it.

                            In MadWorld, got past the annoying boss Frank. He's not so bad once you learn his patterns, and he's cake once you find out how to get the 1UP balloons on the stage before him. Getting to him was a close call though-- I fucked up the Death Press II Blood Bath Challenge, only got like 57k points out of it. Had to go around trying to get the rest of them the old fashioned way, only had a few minutes left on the timer by the time I got to him. Only lost one life on the stage because I did something stupid and got myself squashed in an instant death trap, though, and only lost one life on the boss. Afterwards I beat up an overly-endowed Vampire and ran over greys. I then killed a guy by throwing my motorcycle at him.

                            So yeah, it's not NMH, but heck if it's not a worthy cousin.

                              Ya Torchlight is awesome hack and slash fun! I unfortunately bought it before the awesome five dollar price tag.

                                Because it's not the product that matters, it's how you package it.
                                Breaking up each race's campaign as its own "expansion" in Starcraft II is a bit much. When you take it that far, how you package really does matter.
