I... just can't take DQ stories that seriously. I liked the tone they set overall in DQ VIII, if they keep it on that level, I'm sure it will be fine.

Well, right now I am playing Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, or SBCG4AP for those in the know. Reminds me a bit of Space Quest from back in the day. Also, the 5th chapter made me actually laugh harder than Peasant's Quest, which is hard, considering it's based in Peasant's Quest.

I don't take them that seriously, myself. I mean, look at the monsters. Skewered peppers, really? But DQV actually did seem to have some darker elements to it (10 years of enslavement rises to mind), and I'd hate for them to be ruined. DQIV was too campy. Things that could have been serious fell short because I just do not go in for camp and OTT dialects. And since IV, V, and VI are all being redone as a project and whatnot, I fear a similar treatment for all three games.

As TGM has established, I'm a picky bitch, and one thing I hate is lost potential. I hate unlived up to potential more than bugs or any other actual problems. If I see what something could have been, and then realize dev decisions killed it, it kills my drive to play faster than any bug ever could.

I never did play DQVIII though. Never got around to it. Brother owns it, but I never bothered.

Tales of the Abyss. Need to get the nasty taste that Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World left in my mouth and replaying the first one can only do so much.

I loved Tales of Vesperia, if you have a 360. I actually just got Tales of the Abyss for a Christmas present but haven't had the time to play it. Let me know what you think of it.

I was going to make Wild Arms 3 a frisbee for my dog, but even she didn't want to play with the disc.

In other news, SMT: Nocturne and Persona 3 are officially the first two games to be made a part of my newly created "I actually wasted money on this" list.

I wish nothing but bad things on you. That's like playing Wild Arms 1 to the end of the Prologue when the Golems get stolen, then saying the game sucks and putting it down.

Anyway...

Actually started playing Halo 3. I bought it with my 360, played it only a little bit and didn't touch it till this weekend when I went to visit the parents. Still have to finish the Campaign on legendary, but overall between that and Multiplayer really enjoying it. And the Halo community never ceases to put a smile on my face sometimes with their, uniqueness lets call it.

I loved Tales of Vesperia, if you have a 360. I actually just got Tales of the Abyss for a Christmas present but haven't had the time to play it. Let me know what you think of it.

I loved Vesperia (see gamertag in sig lol). Poured 81 hours into it on my first playthrough with just to 200 man fights left to do.

About 20 hours into Abyss atm. Its fun and different from the other games. Quests you do effect the prices of items/equip in town, though there are lots of missables. The battle system is kind of a mix of Vesperia and Symphonia. Everyone has their own overlimit bar and Mystic arts are triggered just like in Versperia. The main character is an obnoxious brat for the first 15 hours, but he is supposed to be. If I had to rate right now, top 3 would be Versperia>Symphonia>Abyss (though, the only other one I have played is Phantasia).

Also from what I've heard, you can only get everything out of the game if you play it a second time (Lots of new bosses, a 2nd Mystic Arte for everyone and Easter eggs)

I would be playing CSS/TF2 if my internet would support it. Or a slew of other games if I owned a next-gen console. Or ffxi if it weren't so frustratingly laggy.
