Played the Half-Minute Hero Demo on PSN the other day. Its an RPG for the Wario Ware attention span and is kinda cute just for that. You seriously have 30 seconds to grind levels, get new gear and save the world. But there's a goddess, a goddess of time, in fact, that will reset to clock for you for a fee. She inflates that fee every time you ask for help. So she's actually a greedy, materialistic goddess of time.

Its all eight-bit style too, but feels more like a flash game.

Honestly, I don't know why, but I liked the Japanese Yuusha 30 demos more than the Half-Minute Hero demos. Maybe it's just because I now have a clue what the hell is going on, maybe it's because they added some graphics which are instructive, but which clutter it up a bit (like flashing "You > Evil". I also don't remember the L/R to flee instruction, but I'd have to check), but somehow it feels slower, and clunkier, like they took a ninja and put a suit of armor on it.

Still looking forward to it, though.

Finished Momohime's story in Oboro Muramasa and Batman: Arkham Asylum over the past week. Next up is Kisuke's story and whatever extras I can do after finishing both stories.

I've been working on getting the good ending in Valkyrie Profile for a little while, so I think I'd like to finish that up next. After that I may eventually finish Parasite Eve 2. I start my first quarter at UC Irvine next Thursday so I'd like to finish up the games I've been working on recently before then.

How's Oboro Muramasa? It always bugged me how slow/clunky/awkward Odin Sphere's gameplay was, but Oboro Muramasa looks button mashy as hell from the little I've seen of it.

On the easier difficulty it is probably pretty button mashy, but you have to play pretty carefully to survive on the real difficulties. It's definitely better than Odin Sphere although for the most part I liked Odin Sphere too.

Everyone but Oswald, at least. Fck you, Oswald.

That's good to hear. I liked Odin Sphere as well (although I've only played around 6 hours of it) but I sure wished the gameplay had been more fluid. I'll definitely have to check out Oboro Muramasa then.

^^ mastered Squall, Shantotto, Warrior of Light, Firion & Luneth (I refuse to call him Onion Knight) and attempting to gain some half-decent gear so I can beat Inward Chaos... god damn that thing is hard.


GameFAQS is hosting some kind of tournament this week... a lot of ppl labeling Shantotto as Low-Mid tier... I dunno, I think she has potential to be in the top. She just has a steep learning curve. The consensus seems to be however that Zidane & Tidus are nigh-unstoppable and after messing around with them for a bit I'm beginning to agree. Tidus opens a lot of his attacks with a dodge, and Zidane is just so insanely fast (Free Energy FTMFW)

Shantotto, played right, is rather high tier.

Bio, for example, is a fun tool. You can buffer it into dashing toward your opponent if you have controls and abilities set upright. If they block that you can do Retribution or A Couple of Attacks, which will wall rush or chase them. If Bio dashing works you, sometimes you can sucker them in for an HP attack while they're at low Bravery or lower their bravery with more melee attacks.

Long range play with Shantotto is more like Kefka, you want to lure them into dodging one spell so you can hit them with others. Even so, Shantotto's close range HP attacks are where they are the deadliest, much like is the case of Terra's Tornado. In fact, put Spirit Magic Air to the Square button as your default HP Attack. The reason being is that its a draw-in move and if they're close, they won't be able to get away from you unless they EX Break it.

Gamestop called me yesterday to come and pickup my ODST at the Midnight Launch tonight. If only midnight launches came out when I had a day off, lol I'd definently go pick it up.

They are however opening at 8 AM rather than 10, but BLEH means I don't get to join in on the midnight CO-OP fun.

And yes BBQ, Aero spam with shantotto is fun >;3 (not sure what you mean by the bio rushing though) Someone put up a guide on how to use Shantotto and there was 1 thing he put in it that I really agree with 100%; If you're on the ground, you're doing it wrong. She belongs in the air >.>b
