My Squall is 92 now and I've mastered almost all of his abilities. The only ability I haven't tried is his Revolver Reel (or w/e it's called) but omg he is so much better with Speed Boost ++ and Midair Evasion Boost. I almost don't need to dash anymore because of how fast he can run now.
AI still likes to block/counter/evade like a mofo though and it pisses me off. If I get blocked or attacked just after evading, there's nothing I can do. But the AI magically gets to keep evading or counter instantaneously which is BS. I don't mind tougher/more skilled opponents, but it's just not fair when the enemy is allowed to do things players aren't.
Oh yeah and Rough Divide FTW >.>b
I've even gotten to like Fated/Aerial Circle again. I wasn't so keen on them before because of the slow speed, but it's really great how it cancels almost any magic attack, and when the AI is just being a little bitch dancing around you & not attacking the AoE effect is great.
We need to get the developers of Devil May Cry 2, Xenosaga 2, Parasite Eve 2 and Baten Kaitos 2 in a conference room together and have them discuss how to not completely fail at life.
a) I'm apparently one of the few people who enjoyed DMC2. Things I didn't like about it, yes, but lots of stuff that was very cool.
b) Didn't play Xenosaga 2, but I think the biggest complaint people had was with its length. That's funny, because I like short games. >_>
c) umm. So is it true about her butt or not?
d) This assumes the first Baten Kaitos was any good. I remember being soooo pumped about the trailers and when we actually got the game, it was just constant let-down. Granted, we're not big fans of card-type games. But mainly, we were uninterested in the plot and the horrendous voice acting that sounded like it was recorded at the bottom of an oil drum.

I think the biggest complaint was that it sucked. After the opening it was just a slow, largely irrelevant to the story and universe, boring trudge to the end.

It's shortness was a blessing.
That and the horrible voice acting.

a) DMC2 would have been okay if it weren't called DMC2. If they removed Dante and just called it something else and had Lucia be the main character, alright. As it is it feels like someone tried to make a clone of DMC and at the last minute decided to just make it DMC2 and toss in a (poorly) redesigned Dante.
b) See Mhurron's post above, spot on.
c) It is, but it isn't. Just from looking at the games (don't know when they were first released) it seems like Parasite Eve 1 was made very early in the PS1's life whereas Parasite Eve 2 looks like it was made much later. Aya's model is very basic in PE1, there is pretty much no detail on the curves her body should have. In PE2 the graphics are very obviously far more advanced and her body actually has curves where they ought to be. I guess you could say they made it huge* in PE2, but I'd attribute it to the fact that in PE1 she was pretty much a 3D stick figure with textures attached so it just seems much larger in PE2.
d) Fuck you, Baten Kaitos was awesome!
Alright, I like card games in general and I can see how someone who doesn't wouldn't enjoy it, but I enjoyed it quite a bit and the plot takes a few unexpected twists. I agree with you about the voice acting though, whoever thought recording in an oil drum was a good idea should be kicked in the throat.
*What sort of man complains about a bigger butt? I call that an upgrade!
Here are some comparison screenshots of Aya:
Parasite Eve 1
Parasite Eve 2
A very obvious difference in quality, PE2 might have the best graphics i've seen from a PS1 title.

Reason: Screenshots
Gonna have to agree with Tickmeoff on this one. I don't see no giant ass. More like the first game had her completely assless. And just looking crude in general.
I agree. That is not an overdone butt. I think perhaps the person telling me that just wasn't used to a PS1 game (our most realistic video game experiences at the time) having something approaching realistic graphics.
Though wtf is up with her face in PE2, screen shot 1? Her mouth looks like something out of Silent Hill.

Ace Frontier... and that's about it. Still trying to get the last 3 S+ ranks to unlock the limiter. Other than that really haven't had much time to play lately.
