      o.O what?

It's a remake of a game I beat and honestly didn't like a whole lot way back when. I found it much more enjoyable this time around though, and I really just wanted to be done with the trophy hunting so I can maybe get to Beyond Two Souls before Destiny is out.

I saw the good ending of FFX-2 also.

But that was because I YouTubed it.

So you didn't like the game when you played it before, but buzzing through it like a starving man at a buffet in search of trophies somehow made it more enjoyable? Yeah, I'm calling bullshit on that.

I do love it when someone talks about how much they hated a game after the absurd hours/years they told me they put into it.

"I put 400 hours into SMT IV and it sucks."

Nope, either you liked it or you have far too much free time to devote to hating something and it's time to set some life priorities.

A thorough analysis of most endgame/competitive scenes showed me a bigger problem with a handful of toxic players screaming the loudest than any game design choice made by a developer. The problem with those people was a failure to articulate why they were bible-banging particular strategies or advocating adherence to tiers. They don't look at things in context to the situation, but in absolutes and ideals, which makes the experience miserable for others due to thier inflexibility.

It was never ideal for my DRK friend to have a PUP/DRG and a BLM with an level 10 RDM sub fighting Ouryu in a capped BCNM, but it was what we had, but with a solid strategy, people listening, a good tank, a healer, items and me as SCH doing what was needed, we won. Someone else would have told my friend to wait for all the "right" jobs or to level the "right" job himself. He would have missed days or weeks of progress for no good reason.

The strategies and tiers were never about what was best, but respecting the hell out of everyone's time. The really good players or people that did the math and wrote guides? They know that is what it's about. The people that try to enforce tiers and strategies and ideal builds never had that concept and it's a recurring them across all multiplayer communities. Pokémon, Street Fighter, Starcraft - you name it.

The design might not be perfectly balanced and feedback is useful, but if you have trouble grasping respect for time, constructive criticism probably is beyond you as well.

I don't hate multiplayer, I just wish people would handle themselves better and I just don't have the time to wait for the stars to align, so I seldom do multiplayer now

                  ?????

The game's pretty easy honestly, until you start doing all the side stuff. But no, I just didn't like it all that much way back then - maybe 'cause I was younger idk the whole thing was just weird. Having Eternal Calm thrown in to explain how X-2 starts, as well as doing each and every side quest and seeing the story in its entirety helped a lot. Still not one of my favorites overall (especially the sluggish battle system - it's supposed to be fast and action based but it gets bogged down too easily) but I did like it more this time around.

Just finished Beyond: Two Souls. Much, much better game than Heavy Rain was I absolutely loved it. Kinda annoyed I don't have anyone to help me with the Duo mode trophies but oh well. I did my initial dry run for funsies, really enjoyed myself, and now the trophy hunting begins :D (not even that hard really, just need to look up the collectables locations)

I'm actually rather annoyed I didn't get "Uncontrollable" since I was deliberately being "bad" with Aiden from the beginning but just barely missed 2 out of the 6 requirements - and I was actively trying for them too which is the funny thing because again, it was a blind run; no prior knowledge about the game or trophies or anything it just so happens after I looked them up upon beating the game for the 1st time I realized "aww bullcrap, I shoulda had those!"

1 of them I missed by like a hair, and the other the prompt just never came up for me :/

I'm just happy that the acting was top-notch this time (love Willem Dafoe, the guy's just awesome) and unlike Heavy Rain, NO STUPID PLOTHOLES!

Well, except one but it's more of a case of moronic writing/suspension of disbelief rather than a straight up unexplainable plot hole (the end of the arctic level).

One thing that infuriates me is being treated like one of those guys for knowing and being happy to share what is the most optimal setup. I suppose it makes it all the more hilarious when they fail ,and I go into T6 with 2 BLMs and no BRD, and we one shot Rafflesia because the group are made up of players I know are good and trust will listen and go in with "subpar" setups.

You might actually like Hearthstone, the game is actually very well balanced. You see people running around in the Legendary rankings using nothing but starter decks just to prove a point. One thing a LOT of Hearthstone players like to do is see just how far they can get with gimmick decks.

Then again I am the person that still uses Jolteon competitively in Pokemon even though there are far better electric types out there in X/Y. God love seeing those delicious tears when my Jolty goes 6-0 against someone that was telling me I suck because I'm not using a better pokemon like Mega Manetric or Thunderus.

I wouldn't say HS is that well balanced.

It's not super out of whack or anything but the is still entirely too reliant on the RNG for my tastes. I'm really hoping they alleviate this in the future when actual expansions start coming out (not to mention widening the range of viable decks - so f'ing tired of seeing nothing but the exact same decks over and over except in the lowest ranks of ranked play).

More decks will come out as more cards come out. The RNG isn't too bad this time as well since it flat out gives you cards for beating the AI.

Anyone that has played MTG with me knows I like making gimmick decks that are a blast to play but will probably fall flat against something serious. As Cid and Taskmage about my Housecat Deck some time. I think Cid decided to be a dick with Hive Mnd shenannigans so I decided to be a dick back and threw a handful of White Sun's Zenith o nthe board.

                        The result:

In my defence I was dead on TM's turn anyway so if I was going down,, I was going down in STYLE. And covered in kitties.

Mal, you blame the RNG for everything since you learned the term.

One thing that infuriates me is being treated like one of those guys for knowing and being happy to share what is the most optimal setup. Yeah, it does stink when you get tagged as an elitist jerk for knowing the best strategies, but that's just proof how much they'll taint things for other people. I never really had a problem with BG, the staff, mods or the people that posted the data there and on wikis, I just had a problem with the 4chan-level degenerates that swarmed there and went around looking at everything through the lens of endgame and shoving it down your throat at the Delkfutt's Tower entrance camps, chocoholic races or wherever they could.

I want to try Hearthstone, but I'm waiting for the Android version whenever Blizzard feels like it.

Fun fact about Hearthstone: My "F2P" gimmick deck made up of cards you don't even pay a cent for is actually my most successful deck. Especially with the Naxxramas Cards to buff it.

Yeah I have similar thing going on with my Paladin deck. It pretty much revolves around Knife Juggler & Young Brewmaster to abuse battlecries. I did it in Paladin mainly because of the Hero ability but also Paladin has 1 of the best battlecry dudes in the game (Argent Protector).

Game is still too heavily influenced by luck for my tastes though. MTG uses random as a gimmick, whereas HS using it as a balancing factor and that annoys a lot of people.

Case in point I was playing against a warlock the other day and he was pretty much dead next turn unless he killed me right there and then. Dude plays soulfire with only 2 other cards in hand, 1 of them another soulfire and the other was scarlett crusdader. Basically a 50/50 on whether he wins or not and of course, it discards the damn scarlet crusdader allowing him to burn me for another 4 with 2nd SF and win. I hate losing to that kind of crap. If I made a mistake or got outplayed sure, cool, but when the game just arbitrarily decides who wins on a coin flip I get mad.

Even worse, buddy of mine was playing a game where he had a full board of 7 minions, other guy has Ragnaros out and somehow gets the 8 damage to hit my friend's face 2 turns in a row ending the game. That's a 1/8 chance each turn of that happening and he gets it TWICE IN A ROW?! Nonsense.
