At the moment on Balmung you can't get a party as a DD if you aren't a BRD or SMN. Everything else gets refused or is outright blocked from Party Finder groups for Extreme Mode and Coil groups. WHM is also the only healer that gets invites due to it being able to solo heal most of the endgame now. BRDx2 and SMNx2 is the norm now and it is always by PLDs that don't know how to Shield Bash or Spirits Within.
Also if you haven't already got all 3 Extreme cleared you can't get an EM group. The leader will always queue Ifrit EM just to be sure and automatically kick you if it gets blocked due to you being stuck on Garuda EM or Titan EM.
Yeah endgame on this server is full of cunts who refuse to invite you if you haven't already got it on farm status and don't play the most overpowered classes! So if you're missing FFXI come to Balmung. It's going to be exactly like playing FFXI again! =^_^=
"LF 2 DPS 540+ link achiev"
Basically meaning, "show me you have done this fight and you already have the gear from this fight in order to do this fight."
Oh it's even worse on FFXIV trust me. They introduced the concept of "Greed Parties". Needing an item, even one you actually need and is an upgrade results in an instant kick. You need to declare an item to greed on, regardless of if your class can use need on it.
Basically the only classes you can be invited on now in XIV endgame is PLD, BRD, SMN or WHM. It's just plain fuckwitarded as well as the classes are extremely well balanced in this game, so there is literally no reason at all to be shunning the MNK, DRG, BLM, SCH or WAR other then plain and simple idiocy.

Come to Excalibur then. It's nothing like that over here.

Same thing on Excalibur except swap SMN for BLM. It's infuriating...

The job potentials might be very balanced, but I hear some of the favoritism tends to come from how easy a job is to play. Like I hear MNK can be rather difficult to play well in the endgame setting.
Still, I can't say I miss the job favoritism from XI, and I definitely won't miss it from XIV.
God I knew there was a game I need to get back into o_0! How many hours? feck!
I beat the game at 146 hours. I just found out how other people manage to beat bosses so fast. There's a feature built into the game where you can recruit other players' characters as summons. During battle, you're capable of choosing an action to upload for other people to use once. What a lot of people do is they will buff up one character to the extreme, then choose to send one of their character's Special abilities (basically Bravely Default's version of Limit Breaks/Desperation moves/Overdrives/Trance) for other players to use. For a lot of bosses in the first half of the game, it's basically an I-Win-Button if you manage to get decently strong summons. Not too uncommon, since the entire point of it is pretty much to show off your eSchlong.
You can also rename your Special abilities and attach modifiers to customize it to a degree. Right now, I've uploaded Red Mage Tiz using the level 3 Sword Special which I've named "Riot Blade" and it's Super Effective against dragons...I guess that makes my Tiz a Fairy-type!
I knew about it, but never really made optimal use of it until the final boss. Because he was just pissing me off with his obligatory party wipe move.
EDIT: There's also a feature involving rebuilding a village that would let you buy endgame gear very early in the game if you manage to streetpass a lot of Bravely Default players.

I really, really wish SE would get off this horseshit. It was bad enough with Mognet in the FF3 remake, and then the Facebook connections in Lightning Returns. Stop tying social media in with sidequests in a goddamn single player game it's fucking annoying.
I can understand your feelings about those. But StreetPass is kind of one of the major features of Nintendo 3DS. I'm pretty sure every game I have utilizes it in some form or another. Platformers, rail-shooters, RPG's, they've all seem to have incorporated StreetPass in some way or another.
Now that I think about it I really should have picked up FF3 (digital) while it was 60% off... I didn't at the time because, well, I didn't want to purchase a game I already owned even though my DS is on the fritz.
But ugh, AFAIK the PSP version doesn't have the bogus mognet crap where you have to message people to unlock Onion Knight and get the master job gear from The Legendary Smith.

Sure, but it doesn't have to be some gameplay cheat either. They could tie it to a sidegrade or something cosmetic. Hell, I enjoyed getting bottled messages in Wind Waker HD and that didn't change the gameplay at all.
