Really the only hard part is if you run out of lives.... you gotta restart FROM THE GOD DAMN BEGINNING.

^_ ^ I beat inFamous today for the 2nd time, finally got my 1st Platinum trophy. Not sure if I want to bother with the comics though, as the game left a bad taste in my mouth after beating it the second time.

Not because it wasn't fun, but they really, really fucked up the Karma system. I'm not going to spoil anything, but I beat the game being Evil 1st and Good the 2nd time (also did medium difficulty then Hard for good) and well...

All it really changes is maybe 5 minor scenes and a bit of in-game dialogue with Zeke and Trish. The story at it's core doesn't change at all, which is what killed it for me. The only real difference in the ending is the state of the City and how people react to Cole.

It's a shame too because the game was very fun (stuns were a bitch though. Don't try to get all 21 as evil, good powers make it LOADS easier) and I really did enjoy the plot and the characters. The platforming could have been a little tighter though, and the game has a really nasty tendency to just spawn 10+ enemies on you from out of the blue.

You also get shot from every conceivable angle while outside of your own firing range, and perhaps most aggravating of all is being hit with rockets; You take 1 hit and suddenly you're free-falling and can't do a god damn thing about it (usually results in death due to your inability to retaliate or defend yourself)

They could have expanded on some of the characters a little more too. The way the game ends there is room for a sequel, but I have no idea how they'll pull it off without it feeling tacky/stale.

Anyone else who played/beat it care to comment? It was a very good game over all, just had some particularly bad hick-ups.

I used Concrete Shot plus a little Rush, yes. But finding the right combination and the right positioning and the right timing to get past that part took... way too much time than I care to recall.

Running out of lives isn't a problem if you keep a saved game with 9 lives. Don't restart, just reload.

I didn't have any of the problems you did.

      - Enemies do tend to spawn in huge numbers if you don't do your homework and claim territory via side missions, but that's the price you pay. Plus you can always just run/climb away. If you get caught by a mob out in the open that's your own fault for being stupid and not keeping some cover handy at all times.

      - Enemies can never shoot you from outside your own range aside from rockets. Precision Shot has as much range as all enemy rifles/guns.

      - Speaking of rockets, I never ever had a problem with them except on the bus/helicopter missions. Just Shockwave them away before they get close. It's not like Shockwave costs an arm and a leg to use.

      - I thought the platforming was close to perfect aside from a few cases where there's a lot of potential handholds/grips and Cole picks the one you DON'T want. The main storyline tasks you with only moderately difficult platforming, and you can't usually fall to your death (except when there's water below you), and there's plenty of creative platforming to be had in the course of chasing down blast shards.

Only real problems I ever had with the game were a couple of times when the game glitched and I fell through the floor and died for no reason.

I claimed every last territory I could between the main missions. The game still spawned hordes on me during the main events and I often died because bullets were flying at me from impossible angels.

My major beef was generally if you're using static thrusters there's a very good chance that even if you let go at the right time, Cole will still fail to grasp the the ledge. I also got camera-screwed a few times but those were rare instances.

This happened to me only once. I was running in an alley and all of a sudden Cole started sinking through the ground and died... I didn't know how to react other than scream "WTF?!" in my head.

        Lastly;

That part took me all of 10 seconds to figure out, but then I'm a mega man junkie and am also well-versed (more so than I'd like) in Capcom's unique brand of Sadism.

Stunts in general seem to be a lot easier to complete on hard. There's an abundance of situations where you can complete the stunts, whereas on other difficulties those situations were extremely limited.

The guns and rockets can definitely be a bitch. They can either pepper you or put you down, there doesn't seem to be an in-between. They'll always dodge your LOS by hiding behind ledges or in allies, making it a little more difficult spotting them to take them down. I get hit with rockets more than I care to, and it always stuns me, opening me up for finisher from the others.

I beat the game playing as good the first time, and I'm hoping evil differs in a few key areas. I know it can't change too much or it might affect what sequels they've left open for consideration. Considering who's supposed to be the 'real' bad-guy, and who's still alive, they're probably planning another big twist.

Still playing Ryu ga Gotoku 3.

Man, it's so sad when a good game's minigames are lightyears better than games completely dedicated to the subject.

Sadly they are shorter (because they are mini-games) but so far I have yet to find a mini-game I haven't enjoyed playing for hours and hours.

PS > Also, this game has the additional effect 'Enhances Kanji learning' so it's been 100% pure win so far.

Just finished utterly destroying RE5 (unlocking everything, finishing Mercs Mode, etc), and watching my brother beat Deadspace. Both great games, first play through RE5 was with a friend of mine, took 16 hours or so. Great stuff.

Really wanting to try Infamous, good to see people playing enjoyed it, but I'm on an RPG/MMO high right now. Got Suikoden and FF7 from the Playstation Store, been messing with that when taking breaks from FFXI. =P

Finished the DS remake of Rhapsody. Potentially the shortest RPG I have ever played, clear time of ~9 hours.

I'm indifferent about Infamous. It's a fun game but it's seems that most of the time I'm just platforming than bothering to complete any of the storyline missions. I'm closing to the end of the second Island, ready to move to the third and nothing really that interesting has happened yet.

I think I'll just stick to Crackdown for now. I think I enjoyed that more than both Infamous and Prototype together. Multiplayer + keys to the city mode = OMG IT'S 5AM!

Yeah, I haven't played that one either. <_<

Still playing mainly Ryu ga Gotoku 3. Now that game is probably one of the greatest games ever created.

I think my main problem with Infamous is they they tried to clone Resident Evil in plot development where you have to find files and the like to truly discover what is going on. While it works for fairly liner games like Resident Evil or Bioshock I'm not really that comfortable with a wide open sandbox using it as a way to discover the plot and background info.

Don't get me wrong Infamous is a fun game. It gives me my sandbox, platforming and superhero fixes in one it's just those nitpicky things that bug me and because I can't really find anything else that's truly bad about the game those little flaws are much more noticeable.

There is a massive thing that bugs me though. people respond to you differently depending on if a gang controls an area of it crime has been eliminated from that area. Having a huge group of people hating you then suddenly loving you as they follow you across the street and be extremely jarring at times.

                          Mana Khemia.

Yeah, GUST games can be kind of generic and they pretty much recycle the general style and concept of the games over and over, but I like what they've done with synthesis in Mana Khemia. Your characters don't level up like a traditional RPG, you have to synthesize certain items and then expend "AP" to unlock stat boosts or new abilities from the synthesized item.

One thing I really enjoy in RPGs is item creation and the things I can do with it, so I am really enjoying this game. The system itself isn't particularly great, but how they integrated it into character development is what I like about it. The only annoying thing is they decided to put the device for synthesizing weapons, armor and accessories in a different room than the device to synthesize everything else, so I end up having to run back and forth between the two quite a bit.

Found Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume on sale at Gamestop today for $19.99. I played a little bit and I actually thing VP works better as a strategy RPG than it did in prior installments. Its also got a twisted little hook to it.

Seems the hero essentially makes a deal with the devil (well, whoever the Norse version is) to take revenge on one of the Valkyries from the previous games for taking his father to Valhalla and leaving his family to suffer. Typical angsty antiihero, really, but the twist is the plume the valkyrie left behind the netherworld wants to turn into a weapon. It gives an ally ultimate power for one battle... at the expense of their lives afterward.

So to progress the story, win harder battles and learn skills for the hero, he has to kill his allies.

This is why he can't have nice things, but you have to admit that's an unusual twist on a Strategy RPG. I mean, yeah, sometimes I've had to decide who will die in Fire Emblem, but that's just collateral damage, what the guy in VP:OotP is more like murder.

Gonna get back to it after I finish Devil Survivor, well, relatively speaking, it has multiple endings. I'm on day 6 of 7 in the lockdown and so far my favorite demon to summon is Lailah. I've also learned the Pierce trait, which ignores physical resistance traits, goes nice with Physical Rise Trait and Mighty Hit.

It's how Resident Evil should be. Can't wait for co-op Dead Space: Extraction.

Finished Mana Khemia with the worst ending possible. Found out I would have to replay the entire game for a different ending so I have just marked it off as finished and will youtube the real ending(s).

My girlfriend then grabbed a game off the shelf and decided that I would play that game next, so it seems I will be playing Shadow Hearts 3 now. This is why every game needs some sort of synopsis option that will indicate what you've done and what you were about to do next. I had played SH3 for ~6 hours before and now I do not remember at all where I was supposed to be going. Pretty much the only reason I never finished Wild Arms 3 as well.
