^ I really do wish they'd start putting MP trophies into their own category - games with MP trophies should have platinum for Single and MP.


I think the worst case I've ever seen was still back in Halo 3 when one of the achievements was to get a Perfection in ranked play on 1 of the specific map packs (so 3 maps out of the entire rotation) I mean WTF?!

I would prefer it if they took out MP Achievements from games entirely. It gets annoying when you lose games because random player xxxsgtbluntweed666!!11oneoneelevenonexxx has to be muted because he screams at you in his prepubescent voice that he wants the achievement to get 100 kills with the sniper rifle and he can only manage one o nthe game because everyone else wants to actually play the game.

Prototype is proving to be an excellent way to let off steam after getting fed up with the bullshit boss fights in Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut. It's been a long time since I played a game where just moving around the level felt so rewarding.

Funny, I hate Prototype's open world implementation. The movement powers are indeed awesome, but you never get any downtime to just explore because every few seconds enemies are popping up and taking potshots at you. Also, Alex Mercer is a douche.

I think if you approach Prototype as anything other than a means of cathartic slaughter then you're probably doing it wrong. Maybe it changes later, but so far I've had no trouble just ditching pursuers and then proceeding to explore all the rooftops unmolested.

Achievements can change the way you play to help keep the game fresh. I think there's a few proper ways to implement them and then there's the achievement whore way to implement them.

Started up Guacamelee! recently. Are the seizure powerup screens really necessary? I mean, true, getting access to some of them can totally turn the game on its head, but still!

The game is inundated with amusing pop culture references, but also has some good humor of its own (I found myself rolling laughing at the "No Power!" gag). Also for a beat-'em-up the gameplay is simple and interesting--which is basically the exact opposite of most beat-'em-ups I've played, with (relatively) complex maneuvers that your button mashing couldn't care any less about.

No, I played and beat both and found Prototype to be dull, poorly written and ultimately uninteresting.
