If you weren't obsessed with cheevos you wouldn't be playing shitty tacked on multiplayer modes and ruining games for yourself. I stand by my previous assertion.

First impressions of The Witcher 2 are bad. I'm barely into it, but from a systems standpoint alone it feels inferior to the first game. There's plenty that needed fixing with the first game, but it feels like instead of making those fixes and just giving things a tune up, they instead tried to build a new hybrid system so they could expand to the console market, which I'm sure is exactly what they did and exactly why it turned out how it did. The problem is that it feels clunky and clumsy on both keyboard and controller because it's not really designed for one or the other.

The dialogue options are now implemented in the standard guess-what-your-character-will-say-from-this-handful-of-words format, which I absolutely loathe. When I pick the option that says "very funny", Geralt should sarcastically say "very funny". What he should not say is "fuck you", because that's a completely different set of intentions from the one I selected. I blame Bioware for this.

No, I've long since learned to recognize bullshit difficulty settings and just ignore them. There is such a thing as making a game too difficult.

I'm fairly sure it was put in there to stop the fans of the original from whining about no Ironman mode and no other reason.

I've been playing BF4, LoL, and recently Chance of Rain. I'm also continuing to tool around in the Creation Kit.

Finally got that damned Platinum on Last of Us. No more shitty MP for me!


Not enough time to platinum Ni no Kuni or Tales of Xillia sadly, so I'll probably just hop between SC2 and whatever else I feel like until Thursday night. Might even hop on XIV for a bit of DRG leveling idk - still very little interest in endgame until I hear more about the next patch, which is the subject of the upcoming 10th Live Producer Letter.

Still trying to decide if I should grab BF4 or not... I enjoyed BF3 on the consoles, but joining the FPS crowd on PC will take some serious getting used to with KB/M. I still fumble around a lot even on single-player games. orz

In the mean time, I bought Rune Factory 4. I feel this game is gonna be sitting in my 3DS for quite awhile -- you can raise your sleeping skill? Waaat.

Still trying to beat PCB Hard Mode and Rogue Legacy NG+2. But I also picked up Evil Genius lately--good game, but quite a bit of micromanaging for my tastes.

Furthermore I intend to resubscribe to FFXI this month.

Dark Souls has become incredibly sadistic. None of the bosses I've encountered since ringing the two bells leaving Anor Londo have had bonfires anywhere close to them. At least one of them will probably kill you on your first try since you won't notice you're supposed to kill it as quickly as possible until it's too late. At this point I feel no remorse for just looking up the boss strategies.

I don't think there's any shame in looking things up on that game. It's merciless. When I finally got through the gargoyle fight I felt so relieved. Then I wandered down some back alley and the game decided to jump me. I haven't been back to that alley ever since.

On the fence with X / Y, but I dunno. I need a game to hold me over until XIV becomes more than Myth and Coil farm. Suggestions? Prefer online multiplayer games. (I get bored with SC2 / LoL easily.)
