I genuinely do not remember that happening.

I don't believe those people exist outside of theoretical scenarios and a few crazy people in the Bible Belt. I choose to believe this because the alternative is justification for purging the world of humanity in a hellstorm of fire and blood.

The art direction is pretty top notch. It might not be your taste, but it's exceptionally well done. I particularly liked how they seamlessly integrated the game HUD into the game world. It's pretty slick.

I don't remember a kiss scene in Remember Me either?

In other news: XCOM is pretty damn good. It's like I discovered an itch I never realized needed scratching, but now that it's being dealt with it feels so good. Yay for tortured metaphors I guess. Seriously though, it's desk-gnawingly frustrating at times to the point where I'm quicksaving at the start of and replaying every mission, but it all fits together in a frantic terrified panic that's wonderful to behold. Resource management coupled with final fantasy tactics gameplay set in a sci-fi setting with the whole world going up in flames...it just works really well. It boggle my mind that this game was a side project rather than what the company was focusing on from day one.

Hah. Wait until you see the aggravation that is Ironman mode at Classic or higher difficulty. Then you will know the true meaning of terror.

No, I've long since learned to recognize bullshit difficulty settings and just ignore them. There is such a thing as making a game too difficult.

I mis-remembered. Maybe I was hacked? At any rate, the game was limited from going from where it really did want to go and the developer had to fight tooth and nail to even have a female protagonist in it. They were going to give her a romance and it was dropped because some suits feared they'd alienate the male audience for having her get involved with a guy. That cut did happen and that's sad.

This is nothing new with Capcom, either, WayForward got hit with this all those years back when they made Shantae. Capcom told them to change the protagonist to a muscular male. That pretty much would have killed what made the game unique at the time.

Then there's the Ellie thing in The Last of Us, Naughty Dog had to fight to keep her around as a relevant, useful character in that game.You'd think all these years after Metroid and Tomb Raider it wouldn't be so hard to have a leading lady in a game.

I think a romance would have been out of place in that game's story. If they were going to shoehorn one in then I say the game is stronger for having some constraints placed on it.

Not once, but 3 times in a row on The Last of Us some cheating asshole hit me with his stupid nail bat killing me while I was spraying him with the flamethrower, which is normally an instant kill and takes priority over other weapons. The 2nd time it happened I was just livid, but the 3rd was just pure rage because I WAS BEHIND THE ASSHOLE, AND HE MANAGED TO HIT ME WITHOUT EVEN TURNING AROUND!

In other news, FFXIV is still dominating my time. Endless runs through AK for philosophy and mythology, did finish out my Toxotes set, so slowly gearing up. That and rewatching Chuck on Netflix despite the fact that I own all the seasons and could just as easily be watching it in hd.

It has a very compelling (but flawed) MP with a great take on Uncharted's MP. Sadly, due a mix of lag, cheaters and just straight up bullshit/glitches it's infuriating. I'm at the point where I'm seriously contemplating trading it in towards my PS4 for the extra 90% credit. I've only got 18 rounds to go until I finish the Firefly side and get my Platinum, then I'm done - I don't even care about the single player DLC coming next month (why the Hell did it take them so long to get that ready anyway seriously... the game's been out for months.)
