    Worst Zelda ever IMO
I can't fathom it being any worse than Zelda 1 or 2.

Never thought I'd see the day when someone actually did not enjoy Majora's Mask.

It's great from a plot/atmosphere perspective, but the gameplay is tedious at best. I'm sure it's still an above-average game, but in a bad way, and I simply cannot stand playing around all the flaws.

Even Wind Waker's fetchquest, which turned me off from ever trying to continue the game, didn't ruin the gameplay. Majora's Mask feels like little more than a series of fetch quests to tie together a wonderful plot/world and mediocre puzzles.

Hey now! Us old gamers remember those two very fondly. Back in our days those were cutting edge graphics and suspense filled plotlines!

I think its OK to admit that in terms of the series, Zelda 2 was a low point. The original started it all, though, so it can't be faulted just because its a little old now.

Majora's Mask actually had one of the stronger stories of the series and I thought the "Groundhog Day" aspect of the game was very interesting. See, I like the time loop concept, "Deja Vu" was one of the best Trek episodes and Groundhog Day was a great movie, so playing a Zelda game that explored the time loop concept rather than the "past/present" concept made it interesting.

It was one of the first games aside from Shenmue that had a fully realized town where people had their own schedules and lives to attend to rather than just be some character in a town wandering back and forth in a set area.

The dungeons weren't simply a token dungeon with a particular theme, but massive undertakings to themselves. People complained that there were only four, but put together they were larger than most of the dungeons in OOT combined. Once you learned the songs that affected the passage of time, the dungeons were a pretty reasonable undertaking.

And rather than saving a princess, its a story about companionship. Zelda isn't really that big of a storytelling franchise, but it has these small moments of great impact. That particular theme gave the story a level of maturity that few obtain just for getting away from the princess cliche for once. This was right up there with hearing Ganondorf speak of his history toward the end of Wind Waker.

              That aside...

Offered up my level 20 Turtwig for a female Eevee and got it. I'm currently breeding a legion of Eevees and have since gotten a new Turtwig in trade, a Chimchar, Crandios and a Chansy.

Figured once I caught that shiny Meditite that getting a female Eevee in trade was a given (JPs seem to like collecting the shinys, even though they're just a pokemon with a different color and no statistical advantage). Now I just have her and my original Eevee crankin out babies nonstop.

Also got premium cards of Piplup and Chimchar from Burger King. Only part of my order they got right was the cards. Did I get my Angry Whopper? Nooooooooo. Normal Whopper.

              Jerks.

I actually agree with all of this.

And man I haven't had BK in awhile. My entire family hates it, and I'm not a big fan. About the only reason I ever have had to eat there is sheer boredom or lack of other options (either because of road trips leaving you away from anything better, or food courts, especially at airports)

I wanted to enjoy Majora's Mask. I really did, but the constant going back 3-days and having to re-explore a dungeon completely if you screwed up really pissed me off. Honestly that was the breaking point for me. It was good as far as a Zelda game goes, I just simply did not care for having to constantly restart.

I need to find the Pokemon Name Changer.

I keep getting all these JP trades and thus get names in japanese text, so I don't even know Pichu's name.

Yeah, I could have caught one later, but I work a lot these days and I'm lazy.

                    Today I got a Happiny.

My Eevee breeding strategy seems to be working, one day I shall catch them all!

Just a note of curiosity, does Pokemon allow you to enter Kanji for names in the JP version? Not that I think BBQ should learn hiragana/katakana just so he knows how to pronounce the thing's name.

Personal note, worked through my backlog. Kinda. Played Kill.Switch, it was ok, but the controls seemed pretty bad, not to mention being literally painful. On my fingers. Maybe the Wii's pointer has just turned me into a pansy, but the aiming seemed really eh. Not to mention you're expected to kill a lot of people through haze based off nothing more than muzzle flash. Got to a stage where you're expected to clear it in seven minutes, with too little ammo and parts of the stage designed to make it easy for the enemy to get behind you, and make it hard to defend yourself. Fuuuuuuuuuck that, I'm not repeating a stage five hundred times because you put too damn many enemies in and not enough health. An hour and a half for $3 isn't bad anyway, and I'll be reselling it.

Also played Shadow of Destiny. I've never completed a game for the first time in four hours before. VERY fascinating story, very well woven world (for only being one town). It's basically an interactive movie; there are zero action parts (see QTEs in Shenmue, Fairenheit/Indigo Prophecy). And dying is actually part of the plot, the only time I managed to actually GAME OVER was by Time Paradox!ing myself out of existence. One of the top pieces of interactive fiction I've played; up there with Shenmue, Metal Gear Solid, and Indigo Prophecy. It might not even be a 'game', but it's one of the disks I'm most glad I ever put in my PS2.

Kana only for pokemon names in the JP versions.

I played Shadow of Destiny back when PS2's library was growing at a snail's pace. It was I pretty interesting game, though at the time it didn't really strike me along the lines of an "adventure" genre game. The concept was fun and I did manage to get all the various endings, Konami should try to get the team that made that to explore the genre a bit more.

And if you like that genre, there was a release this week called "Flower, Sun and Rain" which was a game the guys behind Killer 7 and No More Heroes did way back before those projects on PS2. Its not the prettiest DS game ever, but if you like the genre, it may be worth a spin. Reviews are mixed, but I may pick it up in a few weeks, SMT: Devil Survivor takes priority for now.

Yeah, I've heard of FS&R, not sure what to think of it. Don't have a DS anymore, though, so I can't imagine buying it unless they release the PS2 version as well, or port it to Wii or something.

Picked up Condemned 2 for $10.00 and I gotta say Yahtzee was waaaay off >.>

It's just as good as the first game, if not better. I'm on the 4th or 5th level now and there have been a few points that really fuck with your head. Some of them you have to look for though.

                                Playing through right now:

                                Pokemon Platinum
Persona 4 - Trying a Max S Links run, thankfully it's more forgiving as doing one on P3
FFXII - Doing the enforced character class challenge from gamefaqs which makes the game a LOT more fun and challenging
Rock Band 2 - I blame the DLC from stopping me from completing tour mode
                                Rahal Gerrant - Balmung - 188 DRK
                                Reiko Takahashi
                                - Balmung - 182 AST, 191 BLM, 182 SCH, 188 SMN
