I think DDS2 was honestly the worst instance where I was still willing to put up with it since I like SMT so damn much. I think the battle theme there helped it, too.

Don't worry about my Persona recommendations, though, encounters there are triggered by contact. If you get a back attack on a shadow, you get the pre-emptive strike.

Tried the demo for State of Decay, and I gotta say it's actually pretty cool.

Not sure if I'd buy it though - I find it odd that the game's strictly SP; the way it works just begs for MP. But then again, this is Undead Labs' first game, and they already said if SoD does well enough their next game will be a full-on MMO.

I could really get behind that, as SoD's survival mechanics and interactions with NPCs is pretty damned good.

Beat Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep last night - shit was epic. No vault at the end, which was kinda bullshit (they reserved it for the new Raid Boss which is a bunch of dragons and rather than the usual fee, it's goddamned 20 Eridium to enter) but it was so worth it.

I'm just sad that it's the final DLC for BL2. Guess I'll just have to play Destiny until BL3 is out - no idea how Gear Box can possibly top BL2 though in all seriousness. Needs more Mr. Torgue...

Oh, but as truly epic/hilarious finale to the game, something that was teased about at the very beginning of the game was at long last revealed to us, and lo the internet came buckets:

Still playing The Last of Us on PS3 off and on, and working on Muramasa: Rebirth on PS Vita.

Man, Muramasa is difficult on Fury mode. You have 1 (!!!) HP. Any hit that breaks your block or lands unblocked is an instant kill, and enemies are still just as hard as normal. Definitely one of the most challenging games I've played in a while. Feels almost as difficult as Demon's Souls in its own way once you get to Fury mode. It's crazy good fun, though.

Last of Us' online mode left me with mixed feelings.

I really hate the lack of zombies, no trueskill is EXTREMLEY ANNOYING (keep getting paired with other level 1~3 guys while the other side has folks with everything maxed out - good job Naughty Dog...) and some of the weapons/tools really need rebalancing (like armor saving people from Molotovs and people running up to you with a nail bat and 1-hitting you even while you're shooting them...), but otherwise I do like how it plays; Survivors is especially awesome since you each get 1 life per round. Makes me wish my stupid Turtle Beach headset wasn't busted.

Actually, CAD summed up my thoughts on that quite well with a recent illustration:

Finished The Walking Dead: 400 Days.

Wasn't as good as the earlier episodes, but I still liked it. I had 500 MS Points just lying around anyway that weren't going to be used thank to the jank of Xbox One, so I figured why not? Though I admit I'm a tad miffed that I have 100 points left and currently all the borderlands 2 DLC is 1/2 price... but no, just getting the main game was enough.

Back to TWD - You can play each of the 5 short stories in any order, and the choices you made in season 1 can affect them in small ways (as well as what order you play each episode in but nothing major, just little easter eggs mostly) and of course, being a TTG release, it's buggy as fuck.

Immediately upon trying to play it going off my finished save, it deleted it... set me right back to the beginning of the game, chapter 1, rather than loading the DLC. So yeah, I was kinda pissed. And there's countless threads on their support forums about how at certain points in the game they get a "storage device was removed/turned off" error notice while playing and then they have to restart and do so only to get a black screen that doesn't go away - the only fix for which is to completely erase the save file and start over.

So yeah, much as I love the game, they really need to get their shit together as they're making Bethesda look good by comparison.

Dark Souls makes me feel like a mortal. This is a curious experience.

Wrapping up my run on SMT Nocturne. Well, technically I already beat it the other day but I want to max my Compendium to 100% and then poke around the Labyrinth of Amala a bit more to knock out the 25 tombstone bosses.

Beating the game means I get the level cap pulled out on demon summoning of the next playthrough, but getting 100% now means I get a 50% discount on all demons summoned from the compendium, so there's also that. Beating all the tombstone bosses in fewer turns that my face-offs with them fetches me an extra fifth turn on the second cycle.

I'm on the TDE path (True Demon Ending), one of the six endings and after having seeing it probably one of the more interesting and compelling endings of the game. Last time I played I ran Neutral, which was also nice. Some of the others are rather RGB in the ME3 sense, but at least intelligible endings, but I've yet to do the plain Demon ending (technically the "bad" ending).

But here's the TDE ending if anyone's curious.

Well I made some progress in Dark Souls and then ran into a wall. They threw a nasty boss at me but with some practice I was able to get into the rhythm of it and start consistently dodging his attacks while scoring some hits. Then they decided to add a second boss. After spending all of Sunday grinding to improve my gear and then hurling myself at the fight for a few hours I had to put the game down. This shit is insane.

So instead I've now picked up Metro 2033. First impressions are very good. It's an interesting setting and the story has me intrigued. It somehow just feels very human, if that makes any sense.

Metro is an amazing game. It's heavily scripted, but still a wonderfully immersive experience.

Last Light was even better, I highly recommend both.

EDIT: Keep in mind that 2033 is based on the Russian Novel, while Last Light is a completely original sequel.

I figured I'd start with the original before dropping any money on the sequel, especially since it still has a hefty price tag on it even with the Steam sale.

Three demons left to fuse - Red Rider, Pale Rider and The Harlot (you know, the one that sits on the beast with the seven heads, seven crowns with seven points on each crown). So yeah, basically rounding out the rest of the Book of Revelations right now.

And of course the one place I need to go to get this done has locked doors I must have a certain level of Luck stat to get through. I neglected this stat in favor or maxing the others so now I'm downing Luck Incense as I get it and grinding up Macca needed to buy the Deathstones to fuse these fiends and then beat Lucifer so I can reap all the benefits of this work in Cycle 2.

Also so I can just focus on SMT IV and not look back at SMT III for a bit.

Yeah but it's worth it. I mean it's essentially the same experience, but with a new story and refined gameplay.
