So yeah, Xenoblade has something like 441 (I think?) quests in all, a few of which are mutually exclusive (multiple-choices in 1 quest leads to 1 and locks out another. only a few of those though) and yeah, this game is murdering my OCD.

Seriously, if ever there was a game that could be the standard bearer for OCD, this is it. The reason I play JRPGs is to get AWAY from excessive side-questing; I like to have a few sprinkled intermittently between major story segments, not epic journeys that can easily overshadow the main story.

Oh well, it's giving me plenty of opportunity to raise everyone's affinity with each other (which, honestly wtf @ most of the heart-to-hearts requiring so much affinity to begin with) as well as each town. I *just* got Colony 9 up to Rank 4, hoping I can get Shulk's 4th Skill Tree now.

I'm not sure how that's productive. Regardless of the size of the world or number of quests, JRPGs usually make you do all sorts of time-sinky bullshit for 100% completion. I think you'd be better off jumping to a different genre.

And now you know why I stopped playing Xenoblade. It's not that I didn't like the story, or the characters, or even the gameplay (I do have some "this is clunky" issues with the skill activations, but they're minor). Seeing unfinishable quests in my quest log just stopped me cold.

Moved on to Mass Effect 1 for PS3. Sadly, even running on the Mass Effect 3 engine, the ridiculous loading times in the Citadel elevators are still present even in the PS3 version. That's definitely one thing I miss about playing the PC version, but I'll live.

Astra - Strike five times at half damage % = Skill/2, so 23%
Lethality - Fell an enemy in one hit, % = Skill/4, so 11% rounded down

This isn't even accounting for the his usually two attack turns, one of which usually crits naturally. I don't know the formula for crits but I know they also commonly activate during Astra and sometimes cancel the remaining hits. this is before I even get to some of the kids. I could probably safely beat normal/Classic right now

Heropon has had no trouble with quests! Riki and sidekicks do good!

Seriously though I haven't had any issues yet. They give you plenty of time to do the timed quests and avoiding the uber high level aggro mobs isn't that hard. There are things that *really* help in that regard, having Quickstep and Cloak Gems (so far I've gotten by just fine with just the Quickstep though - I have Shulk using 2 maxed Tier 3 gems for +24% movespeed and legendary heropon adds another 5% ^^ the 7th character adds another 4)

Unless they've changed it (and it looks like they haven't), the weapon's Crit chance + Skill/2 - the enemy's Luck.

Astra is pretty awesome but it chews up your weapons faster than comparable class skills. At least it works on everything though, unlike Lethality which may not work on boss characters.

If I could be bothered to reclass everyone through Mercenary for Armsthrift, I would, but I just will probably load Lon'qu and anyone as powerful as him with bronze weapons for the most uses unless they just have really, really low strength like Maribelle. I just picked up her son reclassed him as war monk. He picked up Heal Touch and Miracle from her and Rally Luck and Astra from is father, Gaius.

About Metal Face & the Mechon

Xord is clearly Desiree's father, and some ass hat spoiled Fiora for me. What I'm curious about now, and I'm pretty sure I'm right (was amazed I didn't see it coming sooner lol) but... is Metal Face Dunban's buddy with the claws from the intro? I was thinking about it while playing the other day, just getting to the High Entia Tomb and the Mechon attack starting on Alcamoth (well in the CS anyway, the town's still fine and I JUST finished the tomb yesterday) and when I saw Metal Face in the CS I noticed his claws and that's when it donned on me.

EDIT: Yeah so nvm the spoiler thingy, I guessed right lol. Was obvious enough once I saw it coming. Face Nemesis reminds me of something else but I can't quite place it; At first I thought it was one of Elly's Gears from Xenogears but no, the model isn't quite right...
