Also Spy Hunter on 3DS and Vita... if you still care about that after third franchise reboot. I don't, really. Retro City Rampage kinda undercuts that one.

I'm not sure whether to get this game for the PSP next month or wait till I end up buying a Vita down the road.

The difference is the Vita version is fully voiced (and relatively higher res graphics.)

Quick update:

X-Com: Enemy Unknown is amazing. I've only thrown about an hour at it so far, but every decision feels meaty and important, and there's no take-backs, so you live with the consequences of your decisions. There are also no right or wrong answers; every choice has an upside, and a downside. That's pretty awesome.

Retro City Rampage is hysterical. Played it for about 30 minutes and already have seen a ton of retro references... Mega Man 2, Skate or Die, Frogger, Back to the Future, Dr. Who, Ikari Warriors, and probably more that I'm simply too tired to take note of at the moment.

X-COM seems pretty good. I'm definitely getting it eventually, but with my backlog I can afford waiting until it's discounted anyway.

God I am so pissed that all the rental places near me have shut down. FUCK! I can't afford to blow $60+ every time a new title I want comes out - I've still got Halo 4 to pay off next month, and now this - not to mention the new transformers that came out back in August, and then there's AC3 and potentially Black Ops 2 (it DOES look good, but I wanted to rent it first... I refuse to buy any of those games outright, learned my lesson about that.)

I can't afford to blow $60+ every time a new title I want comes out - I've still got Halo 4 to pay off next month, and now this - not to mention the new transformers that came out back in August, and then there's AC3 and potentially Black Ops 2 (it DOES look good, but I wanted to rent it first... I refuse to buy any of those games outright, learned my lesson about that.)

Now you know what it's like to be a Gamer in the UK. We have 4 options:

1) Buying online from Amazon or Gamespot because of GAME group going under leaving us with the few places that sell games with little incentive to drop prices or sell games guaranteed to sell like CoD or FIFA due to no competition.
2) Switching to PC or Mobile gaming where games are actually reasonably priced by the retailers. But that involves having to get involved with programmes like Steam or Origin which are massive security risks.
3) Hack the device to play region locked games (sucks to be you if you have anything other than a 3DS and don't care about what little there is on the EU's eStore) and import from the US where games are actually more reasonably priced by the retailer.
4) Just pirate it.

I'm sure I'll grab Dishonored when it goes on sale, reminds me of the first Bioshock (which I still have to finish). I'm still waiting for my X-Com to be shipped; glad to hear you're enjoying it, Icemage.

I've never really tried it, but what about that GameFly thing? Didn't seem like a bad deal if you play often enough.

Problem with Gamefly is it's hard to guarantee you'll get a new release. You'll pretty much have to have the game on top of your queue months ahead of time, and even then, if you have another one in your queue that's immediately available, they will not hesitate to send you that one first. (Assuming you're using the 1-game only plan)

They also suck with delivery time, as they don't have many shipping facilities around.

Plus, GameAccess (the Canadian version) is like $20+ a month (not including taxes) and I just don't rent often enough to justify that. It's like, once in a while when a really big hit comes out I want to try (or a slew of games all at once like right now).

And I already burned my free trial period. I didn't much care for their service either. Goddamnit.

Didn't they bring Redbox to Canada recently? They usually have a good selection. Expensive ($2 a night), but convenient. From what I see near mine, they have Dishonored, Borderlands 2, and Sleeping Dogs available.

That Major on there ... feels bad man. That was a total clusterfuck of a terror mission. Outnumbered nearly 3:1 by chyrsalids before they even start reproducing is a bad place to be. I was lucky to get half the squad back to the skyranger for evac. India said gtfo and never come back, which screws up the continent bonus I was going for, but y'know what? Screw em. They can keep their facefulls of alien wingwong.

Actually, I think I have that wrong. Operation Empty Bell was the terror mission because I remember the awesome guy I lost was a support trooper and Mr Clean was support. Crimson Giant must have been the one where I, appropriately enough, got my face kicked in by mutons for the first time.

I'd also like to point out that the MoH Warfighter beta is kinda hit or miss.

It has some interesting features I like, such as the weapon customization and the different nationalities, but the game looks like shit (probably an HD textures pack coming like BF3 did) and well, the beta just wasn't that fun... I mean, it'd been out for like a day and a half and I was already running into no-life tryhards at rank 42+...

The fuck man, IT'S A BETA! And it's only the 1 map with the same mode, can't change the settings etc... I mean, it ain't that much fun. I was getting really discouraged when I kept running into people and then I'd be dead before I can even raise my sights, even when I got the jump on them like wtf...
