Helping a buddy of mine with a storage situation, I came across his old PS2, and I had a realization -- I have not sat down to play a video game in nearly three months.

So long story short, I'm borrowing his PS2 and a copy of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, a series I actually never touched. Hell, my first Metroid was Prime! Damn me and my choice of Sega Genesis over SNES.

Anyway, quite damn fun. Had to take a break when these damn bridges would keep breaking (with of course, floating enemy skulls making sure you mess up) and I would have to move through a loading area to bring them back and try again. I wish I had my childhood patience...

No seriously, it's a port as awesome as Irregular Hunter X. And it includes both SotN and the Original Castlevania Rondo of Blood.

No seriously, it's a port as awesome as Irregular Hunter X. And it includes both SotN and the Original Castlevania Rondo of Blood.

I second this. Not really a fan of the 3D look they gave Rondo of Blood on PSP, but the original version is up on Virtual Console if you prefer pixels to polygons.

Also Symphony of the Night really doesn't make much sense without Rondo of Blood for context.

Guess I can hold off on SotN and check that out. I did have the whip in mind when I popped this game in... Silly Alucard and his swords.

Just be ready to have your ass handed to you. Classic Castlevanias (pre-SotN) are hard as tits.

Also I forgot to mention the PSP version of SotN got rid of the terribad voice acting everyone loves. On the other hand the dialogue will probably make more sense. Decisions!

Yeah I pre-ordered it way back, love it.

Though while I prefer the new script for SotN, I liked Alucard's original VA better.

I've been poking around the Style Savvy Trendsetters 3DS demo. I figured I'd given it a shot since I only spend forever in create a character in most games.

Seems it largely disagrees with your fashion sense and prefers you stick to the themes it lays out for you. Pseudo-Tyra Banks was not impressed with my initial efforts, but I eventually put together a winning ensemble. It is nice to know that Nintendo put so much detail into a game like this compared to the shovelware Ubisoft craps out for girls. It takes the whole fashion boutique/customer service/runway modeling thing seriously and enforces the economic side of it.

My only gripe is it does stick to the beanpole body types, but at least the ethnicities presented in the game are not white-washed.

The lack of a nose on everyone does kinda creep me out, though.

(Edit: NVM the first part of the quest doesn't give much options because you have to unlock them as your apprentice gets money and experience.)

1 and 3 are hard. 2 was just plain broken, seriously it's one of the WORST games ever made. I would just skip it in all honesty.

There's less emphasis on things like make-up and jewelry and facial stuff, which is kept rather simple with certain themes to choose from, though hair styling and coloring is little more tweak-able with highlights and such. Its really more about layering outfits and working within themes laid out for you, whether its for customers or a runway show.

It feels like something the Animal Crossing team would make, though Nintendo doesn't identify the team making it. I'm actually rather surprised they didn't market this or the last one all that much, but the families I recommended the previous game to really seemed to appreciate it when I spoke to them later.
