And yes, Quina is a better character than Vaan or Panelo. Both of them are such garbage and contribute about as much or less to the game.

Who the hell wants to grow up and be a criminal when they're a kid anyway?! At least Reks was likeable and did something that mattered. Too bad they fragged him right off the bat.

Yuna was a bit too quiet, reserved, and glum for my tastes. (Of course, I'm not taking X-2 into consideration since I haven't played it.) Considering her circumstances that's perfectly natural, but it'd be hard for me to fall for someone like that.

Meh, Lulu was my pick. She had to put up with everyone being dumb except for Auron and Khimari. Plus she walked around a dress made of dozens of belts. And she's voiced by Paula Tiso.

I recently saw she voiced Sylvia Christel in No More Heroes, which surprised me. Everyone hates her Fuuka in Persona 3 for some reason, apparently a mousey, shy girl needs to not sound shy and mousey.

That was the immediate assumption when development pictures of the game were first released. But Lulu ended up being the most normal and sane member of the group. I wanted Yuna to stop being so cloyingly pure, Wakka to stop acting like a douchebag, and Rikku to stop being childish in a cartoony way. One can appreciate the way Lulu was able to explain Spira to Tidus in nice, simple terms, and the way she was able to think critically about the worship of Yevon.

So what if her boobs swing left and right during her victory pose? That's a J-RPG for you...

I do think Lulu is the most likable of the group but it always bugged me she dresses like that. From what I remember she was still getting over her past love and wasn't really interested in a relationship with anyone, so...? But aside from that her clothes just never seem to fit in in Spira. She doesn't dress like Yevonites or Al Bhed, but no none ever stared or did a double take.

And then, despite being the most normal AND well-endowed character, they replaced her for X-2 with someone less attractive. That always bugged me even more than Yuna in hot pants wielding guns.

Paine was the balance of the group since they wrote Lulu to be pregnant in even before FFX-2 thanks to the Eternal Calm epilogue tacked on to FFX International. I also liked her better than Rikku and Yuna.

I liked all of the female cast for FFX, I just have a soft spot for the thief girl archetype and I think everyone in the D&D group knows how much fun I have with playing my Rogue. Getting to bluff the entire party that there was nothing of interest in the huge treasure filled room was one moment I had a blast with.

As for Fuuka, the problem I had was that her lines were not very well directed. She was a new VA at the time and TBH the director should have known better than to just have her read out the lines as they were and expect the same standard as a more experienced VA.

She was a lot better in P3P though when they redid the lines for the female MC's game though.

I recently picked up Dungeon Fighter Online on Steam. It's kind of an interesting take on the whole MMO thing. Rather than do the typical MMO combat it just drops you into a side scrolling beat 'em up, which I have to say is extremely satisfying. Nothing like taking a gigantic wooden cross and bludgeoning everything to death. Priest class is totally where it's at.

Speaking of MMOGs I was checking out microVolts (I hate you and your temptations Steam!!!!!) Fortunately it doesn't have Japanese voices, because I wouldn't have been able to resist installing it if it did. <_<;

Just finished my 1st run through of Metro 2033.

Gotta say despite its (many) flaws, it was a solid game with a decent plot. The sequel, Last Light, is looking fantastic too and is due out later this year.

Just a note, the video does contain obvious spoilers since it's 1 year after the events of the 1st game (including telling you which of the 2 endings is canon) so don't watch it yet if you haven't played through the first game and want to. I picked it up for $10 as part of a sale going on until the 22nd at EB/Gamestop. For $10 you could do a lot worse, it's definitely worth buying. Just, mind the stealth segments... ugh (and the supernatural bullshit which thank god, seems to be gone in the 2nd game)


Now I'm starting up Mass Effect ^^ (Yes, I'm super late to the party - bite me. My local store FINALLY got a copy in, and it's the Platinum Hits edition so I got the bonus content!) Saved $10 too (it's still like $30 on XBL which is a rip off)
