Just got back from the second Kid Icarus Uprising event at GameStop. Nintendo rep gave me five packs of cards, each with ten randoms this time. Last time it was a fixed pack of five cards, which I have multiple duplicates of.

Sadly, I still didn't get Medusa, Medusa (Rare) or a Hades card ._.

Like I said, a lot of people hated on 13 because it was the thing to do. By no stretch is it the best game SE's ever made but they've also made far, far worse before (World of Mana says hi)

For me the game was Chinese water torture because you're given this great battle system built for THREE characters and for 25-30 hours of the games you're forced to manage these mismatched pairs and only two of them have a worthwhile personality, three if you count the chocobo chick.

A good rule of thumb is to never break up the band when you're only a couple hours in, you wait a bit for that. FFVI and FFX made it work, FFIX just slipped up on the Mist island by not warning you to nog put a bunch of mages together on the second team. But that didn't go on for 30 hours.

Fang and Snow were needed much earlier for thier roles or and other roles hocked sooner, but you're drip-fed it all like you're some moron.

Everything FFXIII does wrong Xenoblade Chronicles does right. Pacing, gameplay, openness and the characters are not as annoying as shit.

It was my bday this weekend. It was crazy fun. Gf rented out a karaoke set-up and had 20+ people over to my old apartment. Lotsa Jell-O shots. Good times.

Anyway, I ended up getting a amazing amount of future gaming hours this weekend. I haven't bought any games since Skyrim and mainly have been playing Dark Souls for a bit now. But this weekend I got:

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (which means I have to play Assassin's Creed 2 - played 6 hrs into it then save got corrupt)

Batman: Arkham City

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition

I'm overburdened with games. I've not even finished Skyrim really. So many games ... too few hours in the day.

1) Happy bday! Nothing like Karaoke battles to have some fun.

2) You really need to play AC2 before you start Brotherhood, it really gives it way more meaning. Things like spending time just rebuilding Monteriggioni and watching it change to actually getting the Armor and weapons you start with in Brotherhood. And then *censored due to heavy spoilers*

So, yeah. Play AC2 first, and start with AC if you haven't played that one yet. I personally liked AC's setting and Altair waaaaaaaay more than Ezio and the Renaissance, but Ezio is also awesome.

Thanks, Ray. It was a blast.

I played AC when it came out. Great game. I was enjoying AC2 and had gotten A LOT of that rebuilding process done when I came back to the corrupt save file. I just haven't worked up the courage to dive back in from the beginning.


I'll check out the vids when I get home. Work won't let me watch anything, basically.

Minecraft 360 Edition. I now know why this game is a time killer and why people enjoy it (my laptop is crappy and couldn't handle it even at the lowest setting).

A shame some grief players/trolls (friends of a friends friend) joined and destroyed a tree house one of my friends put some time and effort into making (it had waterfalls and a "lighthouse" and etc).

Capcom rethinking DLC policy following fan feedback -Destructoid

But Dragon's Dogma may be the worst of Capcoms DLC practices yet, it has pay walls and pop-up like DLC pitches. Oh well, I kinda wanted to pay off some 3DS games and get Minecraft and Fez on XBL anyway.

From what I heard, it only explains part of the ending. Lightning does get double jobs in it (SHA-BLA is the only one I can remember from a JP screen) And the Valkyrie Lightning is the best COM in the game (gets Armor break and Break Damage limit on top of superior stats)

Maybe, MAYBE if they release a GotY edition with all the DLC for $30 or less I might consider buying it.

Otherwise no. And wtf, it's only going to partially explain it? Where'd you hear that, because when asked about 13-3 they flatly said it wasn't happening - they can't just leave it on a cliffhanger like that (on top of charging extra for the DLC). What the fuck is wrong with Kitase?

Kid Icarus: Uprising - Aside from torturing my wrist with the stylus, I'm enjoying this game a lot. There's so many good things to say about it... though I am not using the 3D.
