Getting Closer to the end of Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army. Moving on to finish Digital Devil Saga's side quests and boss after I finish that.

Think I'm only a quarter of the way into Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, but enjoying it quite a bit. Lotta stuff here they haven't done in the other Fire Emblems. Not going back to online play til I max my characters since Nintendo chose to not balance for players to be the same level.

Not getting spammed with White Ball takes all the fun out of that fight. Exdeath is manly as hell, he can kill you twice with one attack.

If it makes you feel any better, it took me 10 tries to beat Omega. Rocket Punch/Encircle counter is such a cheap ass move.

On topic, I played the new Wii version of Pikmin at Best Buy and immediately purchased it, brought it home after work and played it for several hours. Why did I not know Pikmin is the sex?

Getting pretty close to the end of Star Ocean 4. I'll probably pick a day soon and spend a good 10-12 hour chunk of time playing it and likely finish it then. I dunno if I am gonna bother with any of the extra content though, it's usually my favorite part of these games but I am really turned off by having to switch disks to go back to previous areas of the game. The only other game I know of that forces you to do this is Legend of Dragoon, but extra content wasn't very big in that game so there was scarcely a reason to go back to older areas.


Also made 2 new characters in Monster Hunter. One I have sworn will only use Greatswords (doing pretty well) and one only Dual swords (should shoot myself for thinking this was a good idea). Good times.

I loved Star Ocean 4. Got a friend of mine to play it, and he put it down after he got Lymle because he didn't like her.

As for Monster Hunter, I recently created a character that will use nothing but a sword and shield. It's working out quite good considering you can use potions and items while having them unsheathed (in MHF2).

I hate Lymle too. I'm tired of the "little girl frozen in time" character getting thrown into every recent jrpg, and her voice is terrible. I don't care if she's supposed to sound like a traumatized 6 year old, I am tired of listening to a traumatized 6 year old.

As for Monster Hunter, I originally started with sword and shield too. I was terrible at the game at first and wanted to just give up on it, but I saw some videos on youtube of a guy doing Kut-Ku training and I learned2play. I use mainly Hammers now, but I wanted to learn GS and dual swords so I figured the best way was to start fresh and use only them.

I like greatswords. htey lv3 charge you in the face and doesn't afraid of anything. Being able to guard in an emergency is also cool.

DS, not so much. They require a LOT of work to use well, as well as a lot of item support (infinite stamina drinks and a fckton of whetstones) and all the starter ones are really bad. Very small amount of sharpness, not many options in the way of different elemental damage and they require a lot of the more uncommon parts to make.


In other news, picked up RE5 last night and played up to El Gigante (or whatever they call him in this one) before me and my cousin passed out. Quite enjoyable, and a good deal harder than 4 was.

I found the entire Lymle thing to be a very touching story. Sure the "kay" got annoying every once in a while, but she acted how she was supposed to.

Ending Spoilers

I admit that I got a little teary eyed at the end of the game when Lymle nearly began to cry. After the entire game, showing next to no emotion, even after he grandfather died, and then getting to the point of crying when she sees Faize in the end, it's very touching.

As for Monster Hunter again, I enjoyed playing as a longsword user for a decent amount of time, but after a while I wanted something new. For Rathian / Rathalos hunting, I usually bring a hammer of some sort (Onslaught Hammer) to stun the hell out of them for an easy win.

And Resident Evil 5... Playing through on Professional. Ugh! The El Gigante is a pain in the ass! The moltov thrower to the left takes 1/4 of the vehicle's hp when hit. Getting punched or stomped by the Gigante himself takes 1/2. Getting shot by a crossbow is 1/10. And the boulder he throws takes 3/4 of it.

Never died to him even once before facing him on professional.

Become immersed in compelling gameplay that incorporates new Gundam characters and storylines, such as those from Gundam 00

As far as I know Gundam 00 characters/suits are not in this game....Good job Best Buy!

I gave up on Professional mode for RE5... largely because I was playing on my own and do not trust the AI worth a god damn. That and mission 2-3 I believe it is that's the rail shooter is just too much.

Also returned the Last Remnant 4 days late last night >.< still barely into disc two (thank you ridiculously long side quests). I'm conflicted over what version to buy though as each as pros and cons.

So for now, I'm gonna get back to Onimusha 2 and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia.

At any rate, my next step was to synth some weapons and accessories to boost exp and head over to the Seven Star Dungeon to get my ass kicked gain a few levels. I havn't used Arumat yet. My party is Edge, Meracle, Reimi and Sarah. Berserk and Focus on Meracle and Reimi, and have Reimi use Savage Sparrow (wipes out half of the battle area) while I control Meracle and Drill Spike / X-claw the area to death. I beat Gabriel Celeste at level 135 with 1 party member dying, due to the fact that I could point-blank Blindside him, then juggle him into Rage mode, then run until it wears off.

Also, you should probably look up Lymle's ending too, unless you feel like re-playing it to get it.

I was thinking one day that it'd be pretty cool if they made a Dynasty Warriors: Code Geass. Since there weren't enough Knightmare to really have in the game, it'd have to be partially Knightmare and regular outside of suit melee combat. Musous would be pretty awesome, especially with Geass abilities involved.

Actually, Lymle wasn't that bad (she's the 2nd best caster in the game) and I might have liked her if not for the " 'kay " after every sentence. That and she often spoke like she was retarded, not a kid. Meracle is atm my current favorite cat girl EVER though.

Sadly no, it's a visual novel based on the first part of the seires instead*.

Before playing Valkyria I was thinking an RTS would've been good, but after Valkyria I think a Tactical RPG would be a much better format. Now add Persona 3-like School/character interaction and it would be epic-Altana-level-godly-win.

Some of my gaming wishes have become true so I can only hope something like that will happen when they release a new R2 (or even the whole series) game.
