It's called down-time my friend. Those times where you don't see me posting... you know... those long stretches of time. Yeah... during those... I work in the Operations Control Tower. I'm BUSTING MY ASS with work. This site... and the times I get to play games here... those are my cooldown moments. I get them from time to time... and im allowed to do as I wish with that time. It keeps us from wanting to blow our brains out.

Oh no... no. That's the Air Traffic Controller.

ATC is to the air as Operations is to the Ground. I work with the planes/crews/flight crews here on the ground. ATC deals with them in the air. Those fuckers are lazy.

Pretty sure most plane accidents occur on the ground.

If they happened on the ground people wouldn't have to deal with the 30,000 foot drop. Plane accents happen in the air, they end on the ground or in the sea.

Tales of Abyss, 3rd playthrough.

Brought over everything but Artes, Gald and consumable items. Picked Expx10, Galdx2, Arte usage, AD skills, and FSC levels as well. Playing on Very Hard/Unknown. Switching back and forth depending on the boss, since some on Unknown only let me do 1 damage a hit...I am not smacking something 100k+ times. About 1/2 way through, characters are level 78-80 and all have their ultimate weapons* already. (cleared Advanced Coliseum battles on Normal once the coliseum was opened). Main party is Anise, Tear, Jade and Natalia, controlling the spunky, greedy Fon Master Guardian. Only fights that concern me are the Cameo battle on and the Catalyst Weapon boss on Very Hard. (Beat them on Hard a while ago).

*There is a better weapon in terms of magic attack in the final dungeon for Jade. Natalia can get a weapon from Din's shop that has the same strength as her coliseum one, but unlocks her ability to use Noble Roar.

Getting my rage on in Battlefield 3 still, but Uncharted 3 is tonight. I'd better hurry up and finish the SP campaign at least!

I've been playing EQ2 on their Extended (F2P) service since the beginning of October. I've been having a really good time. Fun game*, great community, and the F2P model isn't particularly restrictive at all, unlike other F2P MMOs I've tried where nearly everything is locked down.

*edit: To clarify, this isn't my first time playing EQ2. I played it at launch back in 2004 for about a month, then again for a month in 2007 when the Echoes of Faydwer expansion came out. Both times my interest had waned before the first month was even up. So far that hasn't been the case.

I take it you're dealing with the same shit I've been? It seems like every freaking lobby I get into I get paired up with all the morons who don't have mics, don't work together and worst of all no one ever freaking tags enemy soldiers.

Oh yeah, and there's always that level 1 dumbass who has no idea what he's doing but goes ahead and takes the tank and/or jets CONSTANTLY.

Pro-Tip: Stay the fuck out of the driver/pilot's seat if you can't control the vehicle properly.

I had a buddy in college who played EQ2. I used to think that I was addicted to MMOs until I met him. To his credit... he maintained a 4.0GPA and a reletively attractive (see also: supportive/real) girlfriend in the process. When he wasn't doing something productive in RL... the guy was GLUED to his PC at all times.

I tried to get into the game... but it never did anything for me. Strange... because I always thought it'd be up my alley.

I couldn't get into EQ2 either of the two times I played before. But the changes they have made in the year since have made it an awful lot of fun.

He was in fact really into EQ1. I have his old install discs somewhere I think. He gave them to me if I ever decided to "play the classics".

I was far more interested in EQ1... but I would have been climbing into it way too late in the game. It's like starting FFXI for the first time... now. I credit those who want to take on the task of being largely overwhelmed by everything... it just wasn't something I wanted to stack on my plate along with college at the time.

I'm sad I never got into it. I was always more of a Baldur's Gate/Diablo fan anyway.

It is similar in spirit to FFXI in that it is primarily grindy. EQ2 is more like the WoW Model (though EQ2 came first) where the bulk of your exp comes via questing.
