Oh come on, Xenogears. We were having fun! Then I got to disc 2 and now it's like you're practically playing yourself...

I heard it's actually that they ran out of budget, but I don't know how much truth there is to that.

Honestly at that point I was about 70 hours into the game and I kind of appreciated jumping straight from one part to the next. I wish they had actually presented some of the plot points instead of just narrating them though.

I want to say it was a little of both actually, but yeah that game could have been 100% more epic then it already was ;p

Lets see playing White Knight Chronocals II and Disgia 4 ^.^ both GREAT!

Well, I finished off Dragon Age 2, getting all achievements in it, and now I'm wrapping up the very end of both Disgaea DS and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

I'm also playing a ton of Dead Island, trying to at least beat it with one character before I pick up Gears of War 3 next week.

Due to having out-played everything else, all I've been playing is Team Fortress 2. Now, a question to PC-gamers in here:

I think I'm still having trouble finding the right mouse sensitivity. I've noticed I tend to overshoot my targets a lot, especially with the Sniper or my Ambassador-wielding Spy (I have the Enforcer but dammit, I have the most sexiest skin for that gun). I assume it's too high but then there's a lot of people who circle-strafe and I swear there are times where it's just not fast enough!

              Ever found a good medium?

I know that for shotgun blasts Scouts leave their crosshairs idle while they zip around side to side and wait for the target to align with the crosshair rather than trying to move the crosshairs into the target. Maybe that translates to shooting people with the Ambassador? I don't know.

Got Kirby Mass Attack today. Fun little game, moreso than usual for an touch-only game. Hal Laboratories did a good job with it. Its sort of like if Lemmings was action-based and you could just throw the Lemmings at things by flinging them around, except its a cute mob of Kirbys.

Its just the thing I needed, I've been in the dark-and-gritty territory of late. Deus Ex, Mass Effect and now Dragon Age: Origins and Demon's Souls. And then Devil Survivor Overclocked and all this gloom and doom, though that does have some zany stuff, like Midori.

Hoping to get Bit.Trip Saga soon so I can have another more colorful game to break things up a little. I fear all the Ico/SotC collection is going to do for me at this point is make the wait for Zelda: Skyward Sword that much harder. I watched a few gameplay videos and felt like I've already seen too much.

I've pretty much kept myself in the dark for Deus Ex, Dark Souls, Zelda and Skyrim. Its so easy to ruin games for yourself these days with all the video posted in advance, so I just don't watch it.

Also got another copy of Monster Hunter Tri recently since all that talk about the 3DS version has me a bit excited.

All in all, I have plenty of dragons and massive bosses to deal with.

What I'd heard was that the game was meant to be five discs long but they couldn't do that so they had to compress a lot of the story into those segments where 1 character is sitting in the chair narrating with Elly's pendant swinging in the background (I forget the name of the track that plays but I know it by heart lol - I have the OST)

It's 1 of my fav tracks in the game too.

OK, just read Game Informer's extensive hands-on with Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Well, I skimmed a lot because I didn't want too much spoiled, but here's some interesting points. They're actually things I've always want fixed in Zelda:

                      - No more stupid fucking compass. When in dungeons, you get the map and it does the compass' job, too.
                      - The overworld is full of mysteries and puzzles, many sections are practically mini-dungeons to themselves.
                      - Collecting Rupees means something again thanks to the weapon-upgrade system
                      - You can place waypoints to your destination on the sky map, flying is faster than Wind Waker's sailing.
                      - You can store bombs from bomb flowers in your bomb bag for later use

I realllllly appreciate the overworld getting more love and attention, I kinda feel like that outside of Majora's Mask, Zelda post-OOT has neglected the overworld and made it just something to travel across rather than poke around and explore it.

Also, for ground areas, rather than just slap an arrow on the hud, story objectives are sensed via "dowsing" with the sword. You point the sword and if the Wiimote rumbles, you follow it in that direction. I think that's a nice way of letting you feel like you found it without having the game assuming you're stupid and pointing it out to you.

                      WANT NAO. Gimmie.

yeah I have moved all my reserves to games next year, Zelda has become my only interest, mainly because I know it will be good.

Got a few new games for the old collection (no NES yet though -.-) Final Fantasy and Super Mario Bros. 3 ^.^

Right now though still playing White Knight and Minecraft

You crazy. No love for Dark Souls, Battlefield 3, MW3, or Skyrim? I've been playing GoW3, and while the campaign was disappointing, Horde mode is as good as ever. I rarely feel like such a bad-ass while playing video games.

I'm getting Dark Souls and Skyrim at launch, but I may leave them sealed for until after I play Zelda.

Part of me is doing this so I can catch up on Demon's Souls now and not constantly get invaded by Black Phantoms every time I want to progress with my corporeal form. All the Black Phantom action will migrate to Dark Souls, I figure, so there will be less griefing in Demon's Souls.

On that note, its been found that those that get Dark Souls early via broken street dates will be invaded by Black Phantoms controlled by the development team. Really powerful ones are murdering reviewers right now.

Zelda was the first NES game I ever played, so it holds a bit of meanign to me......

BF3 and MW3.... done far for shooters that much, I like them but, not enough to buy them ASAP

Dark Souls?..... I still have not played Demon Souls, and I want to play/beat the first before the second

Skyrim, cool game, but I never could get into the elder scrolls games, I feel way to lonely in them.

Besidest........ the mood I am in, I would rather buy 10 retro games for 60 bucks then a modern one.

Dark Souls isn't a sequel to Demon's Souls, so there's no plot you'll be missing out on. If I remember correctly, they planned on shutting the Demon's Souls servers down at some point, but I don't know if that actually happened. I imagine Dark Souls will be an upgraded form of Demon's Souls, and maybe we'll see sequels on from that point.
