Still on Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition and Dissidia for the most part, fell off-track with my Zelda marathon and intend to get back on that this week. When I get in a fightin' mood, its hard to get back out.

I've started deferring to Guile as I always seem to do better with him than most characters. My Chun Li needs serious work and I'm considering taking up El Fuerte just because his whole style is crazy and I never see anyone playing him online.

I also remodified my match setup. I found that if people know they have up to 3 rounds with 30 secons per, they'll just run and turtle in the last 10, so its now one full length round and one only. Also, no rematches for shototards.

Still amazes me to know end that they're adding two more shoto characters to Arcade edtion when they could be brnging over more characters from SFIII like Elena, but I digress.

Also, BOOOOO no Dissidia DLC this week.

Beat PE, gonna try out EX Mode and the Chrysler Building for the game's real ending after I finish up with The Last Remnant.

I'm finally getting close to being able to take on The Fallen. That thing is sheer BULLSHIT, sucks to AV & PW.

finished 999 on DS, and about to start Monster Tale (on DS) also playing FFXIV again... because I got tired of where FFXI was heading. Me and my friends also played and beat D&D Tower of Doom (arcade)

Finally got back into XI after about a month-long rage quit over Carabosse. Still not getting on regularly but I'm going to try and get a dedicated group for Carabosse and if not, probably going to quit until lv 99 patch because the game's just not fun for me if I can't play my favorite job & be awesome at it. And it's not like Masamune's even hard to get, the real challenge is getting people to help.


I beat Portal 2 and TLR, though I still have 1 last fucking achievement to get (Dismantle 500 monsters... fuck me running I hate this achievement with such a passion) before I can finally bury that game for a good couple of years if not longer. I mean I love it, but between the battle rank system and the fucking ridiculous beyond measure trolling with the components system, I've about had it.

Basically it goes like this - You want to upgrade to the next weapon, which requires 3 components, usually mob drops but sometimes harvested if you're lucky (except in the case of Necrotic Metal... oh fuck you Necrotic metal...). And most of the time, 2/3 drops are very easy to get.

Oh, but that last component? Yeah, like 99% of the time it's a drop that requires either The Daily or Weekly magazine, which are rewards from guild tasks to even have a chance of dropping. Thus begins the vicious cycle of gathering component A so you can obtain component B, which will allow you start the quest for component C, but not actually obtain C yet which is then needed for yet more components....

Yeah, it's a very poorly thought out system that just makes the game needlessly complicated and geometrically more frustrating. Never mind that the really high end stuff costs you a metric fuck tonne of gold to make on top of the rare components, and gold does not come easy in TLR by any stretch of the imagination.

It seems like ever since FF8 SE has been getting more & more annoying with their equipment systems. Why the fuck did they even have to put in rare mob spawns in TLR? That shit's annoying enough in an actual MMO, we don't need it in an offline one. Zoning in and out of an area & sometimes clearing out pre-requisite 1-time only rare monsters just for a fucking chance of the one you want to spawn for hours on end is not fun.

Thank fucking God that for the most part if you're willing to grind out and jack up your BR, your leaders & soldiers will upgrade their shit on their own, usually by borrowing spare gold from you if you didn't farm the components they need (and honestly, SE can shove a lot of those up their ass especially Jewel Steel & Demon Manes)


So now I'm just trying to find a good horror game to play. I thought about Amnesia, but I just watched some guy's live recording of it on youtube instead that was actually fairly entertaining. I wish Silent Hill 6 was out already

If you enjoyed that and have a DS, check out Radiant Historia. The team that made Radatia Stories is also involved with that one and some Persona 3 team members were also on the team. Its got a really fun battle system and explores time travel in pretty cool way, hopping back and forth between two timelines. And the composer from Kingdom Hearts does the music.

Monster Tale is also pretty cool, its sort of Metroid meets a monster-raising sim. That's also on DS.

I've also been doing Muramasa on Wii, Okamiden on DS and lots of Dissidia Duodecim and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition. I'm trying to get back on track with my Zelda Marathon, but Street Fighter isn't helping me much.
