Bought FF8 and FF9 for PSP the other day... downloaded them onto my PS3 cuz my PSP lacks the space. Still haven't had the gumption to start up the FF7 I bought a while ago. Still have never played it. My favorites still are FF1, FF4(2US), and FF11. Maybe it's too hyped for me and it's beyond the time the game was revolutionary, but I wasn't enjoying the bit of FF7 I played. But I feel guilty for feeling this way.
FFVII is a pretty slow starter, to be perfectly honest. You're more or less stuck in Midgar for the first seven to ten hours of the game and the enemies you get encounters with are seldom anything remarkable. And then when you finally get to set foot into overworld, you're shoehorned into the first nearby town and asked to digest another half-hour of cutscenes. Seriously. its that long because the game asks if you want to take a break and save.
In 1997 perhaps this was a riveting cinematic experience, but even at the time, it didn't wow me

And yet the same drooling mouth breathers who found this perfectly acceptable in 7 decry 13 for doing the same thing. Yeah OK then guys.
Freaking AWESOME! Just need them to port ME1 to PS3 and I'm set since as I understand it, you can port your finished save data from ME1 to 2. I was gonna try both games for 360 and do some more achievement hunting but fuck it, may as well wait for the superior PS3 launch.
The fact that they're using the ME3 engine for that scares me.
Because by the comparison videos - it did not make a lick of difference. Hell, the graphics looked worse!
Also, impossible for ME1 to be ported over as copyright from Microsoft Industries gets in the way. The PS3 version of ME2 will, however, include a 15-minute comic-book style intro that will explain the central plot points of the first. It even gives you a chance to make decisions that will transfer over to ME2 and 3, like your love interest or such.

At 76 stars and counting Mario Galaxy 2 and of the 33 galaxies done so far, 28 are totally completed, though I don't think I've gotten to the green star stuff yet. I rather like that his and DKCR are by far some of the most challenging games Nintendo has done in a long while. They're just really generous about 1-Ups and give you hundreds of ways to die. Totally fair ways to die, though, so I don't end up flinging the controller, though that purple coin tree trunk slide came close.
Pretty much settled down and just focusing on this and Muramasa for now, gonna go back to DKCR when Mario is done.
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (decent, finished)
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (good, finished)
Kirby's Epic Yarn (sweet enough to induce insulin shock, not finished)
Metroid: Other M (Samus is a chatterbox? Who knew?, not finished)
The Sly Collection (3 games in 1, a triple platinum trophy, and some throwaway PS Move trophies, finished)
Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom (amazing gem of a game, finished and highly recommended)
Currently playing:
Rock Band 3 (flawed but awesome)
Valkyria Chronicles 2 (I want this whole squad to die...repeatedly)
Demon's Souls (gah, soul-sucking difficulty but I can't stay away...)
On tap soon:
God of War: Ghost of Sparta
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (utter garbage GoW clone that even Sir Patrick Stewart couldn't salvage)
FTFY.
Been playing more Star Craft 2 lately, still don't feel like getting back into League play though. I think I'll wait until Heart of the Swarm is out and expansion units totally change the playing field.
Castlvania LoS, imHo was damn good. GoW falls flat for me. Kratos is one of the most predictable and boring one-note characters I've ever played. Flame me... still won't change my reluctance to force my way through the same story already told twice only dressed this time in a "III".
