Seriously, though... it'll never get made.

"If he gets done with all his other projects, it might be fun to work on." That's like saying, "I'll clean the gutters as soon as I'm done... uhh.. doing..stuff...."

They're constantly swamped with something new to work on, so rekindling an old flame for no reason isn't high on the priority list. And heaven forbid they give it to one of their under-developed "intern" teams like they did for the Nintendo-to-PS ports. That would just ruin it.

But, I guess it's fun to keep pluckin your string like Square has always done...

You get from the conversation that Nomura-san wants a remake. He wants to be the one to work on it. What I feel from the video is that its something he wants to do but SE has him doing so many other things that its not possible right now. So within the company there is a force that wants to do it but its the big guns holding it back.

Now if thats the case then its up to all of YOU to let them know YOU want it. Track down the emails of SE officials and spam it all over game forums. Tell people to email and tell them to give you what you want! If they see a HUGE influx of people begging for a remake of the game, they might decide to put it up higher on the list. Remember all that matters to them is $$$$$. If enough people pester them, they'll see the $$$$ and be more motivated to get it done.

I'm a firm believer in a remake. I just know, in my heart, that it WILL be done. There is just too much $$$$ to be made and I can't see a corporation passing that up.

You sort of make them all sound greedy when you say it like that. Talent like Nomura aren't in it solely for the money, but their bosses are. He who cuts your check plans your day.

Or maybe we just comment on the second part of the post that makes no distinction between Nomura or SE? "They" is such a descriptive term isn't it?

Why should she have to make a distinction in the second half of her post when the distinction was made in the first part?

And it was necessary. If you require someone to repeat something they said not 2 sentences before the portion you responded to, how can you fault me for thinking you'd need 2 clarifications? I was just making sure you understood. You needed the info repeated twice to you before, why not now?

I'd enjoy a remake, FF7 was epic. But I think coin's got a point. I'd rather he take that insane creative genius and make something on-par with FF7 but with todays graphics. Unfortunately for those that would rather have a remake, the big guns know they'd get more dough from something new and original than from a remake of even a game as popular as FF7.

Do you really want to pick a fight about this? The term "SE officials" used in the second paragraph could be refering to anybody who holds any sway in SE, such as the "big guns" and/or Nomura himself. I could continue on, but I'm not the one who finds joy in arguing over the interpretation of a post.

Ok seriously, this is silly. The first paragraph seperates the 2 just fine.

I think its funny there was actually something of an argument over that. Too funny.

I know there's a lot of money to be made from new games, but still, there are a lot of crappy games that come out, but they still put those in front of a FF7 remake. A remake is like guaranteed money. I know there resouces are limited, but put one of those "eh" games on the backburner and put some time and resources in this. Make money hand over fist, then come back to the "eh" game and make it better.
