This week, Square Enix announced that two new Valkyrie Profile games are in development and scheduled for release next year.

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is a remake of the original Valkyrie Profile title, a game which has created quite a large fanbase with it's high quality RPG experience. If you don't believe me, check eBay and see how much a copy of the game is going for. I'm personally glad, since I don't have to spend $150-300 on a copy of it to play it again. Lenneth is scheduled for release on the Playstation Portable on March 2, 2006 (unknown whether or not that is the North American release). It will feature updated graphics, new FMV sequences, more game content, and a special link feature to Silmeria on PS2.

Valkyrie Profie: Silmeria is a brand new title, a prequel to the original game, which will take place some few hundred years earlier. Not much else is known about Silmeria, but it is scheduled for release in 2006, for the Playstation 2.

Silmeria's website opens up on Sunday.


Forgot to mention, both games are published by Square Enix, but Silmeria is developed by Tri-Ace, the gods behind Star Ocean: Till the End of Time and Radiata Stories.

Yes, I know who Tri-Ace is, I love them... Jesus, I can't wait for this. I passed up the chance to get a brand new copy for 20$ at bestbuy...
