Nice Caspian, your right you do need a component stand BADLY!! LOL Another thing you might want to be careful about is where you put it. Watch out for heat from the fireplace and the heating vent on the wall.

Yeah, I was going to slide the bookcase over and nestle it in b/w it and the tv. Thats why I was wondering about putting the subwoofer in the stand itself to free up some room. Heat from the fireplace hasn't been a problem yet. Its angled away from everything so it really doesnt get any warmer there than anywhere else. Just have to get a stand, put one of my Ansel Adams prints above the tv and I think it'll look alright.

Clean up? NEVER! I have a bad habit of putting a movie in the dvd player and just leaving the cases strewn about. I do need to clean up a little bit soon. My friend's (who owns the house) family is coming in sometime to help with remodeling the bathrooms and another room or two.

Yeah FC, if I dont build one I'll definately pick up one of those in the next month or so. Just have to try and get it all figured out first. I may swing buy Oak Express Saturday and see if they have anything decent now.

Bit late but haven't had the time to get any pictures. Only thing that's changed is the 360 and ps2 are vertical and the original xbox moved elsewhere.
Nothing special with my tv, flatscreen panasonic.

Suprisingly the ps2 has held up well. Got it the day they were released here in the US and never had any problems with it. Pretty sturdy too.
I also mentioned in my original post that the ps2 and 360 were vertical so below is a picture.

What it will be hooked up to when i get it is into newly finished basement.

Got a HD projecter, NEC 260, supports up to 1080i, and is my entire wall, can be up to 120 inch, it's about half my wall now in widescreen.

Surround sound totally setup, base, speakers, everything.

I'll get a picture another time.

You can use your current POL account to play on the beta as far as I can tell. You can't however if you registered your account no the JP version. Like me for example. I can access my friendslist and stuff but can't play the actual game with my content ID because of this.

As for a cheap HDTV. I'd save your money for when price comes down, and not settle for a "cheap" one now. You can really noticed the difference in quality for HDTVs. Cheap ones being the lesser in quality.

I don't want to turn this into a debate over which is better so lets not do that. All I will say is that if your looking for a budget friendly hdtv and still want to retain decent quality, go for a DLP set.

There are CRT's which are your basic tv's that most people have. You can tell these by how deep they are....and heavy! LOL Also make sure you get a widescreen one like pictured below. All of the pictures show you a widescreen aspect tv.



Then there are DLP's which are still fairly heavy but they are thiner than their CRT cousins. I personally have a 61" DLP tv and love the stuffing out of it. About the only thing I would change is to go to a LCD next time but only cause I'm a tech whore!




Then there are LCD's which I'm sure your familiar with from computer monitors. They are thinner, lighter, and high quality. You can also hang it on the wall if you like. These are also pricey. I use a 23" widescreen HDTV tv for my computer monitor. I paid $1100 for it.



This is how thin plasma and LCD are:




Another high quality hdtv is plasma that you can also hang on the wall. Again they are thinner and lighter but they also burn out faster (faster being relative since it takes years). And if something goes on them they cost a good penny to fix.





Also when it comes to this new MMO they are talking about, we won't be seeing it for years! So feel quite safe in purchasing and enjoying another MMO. You'll have plenty of time to enjoy it before even thinking of buying this newly announced one.

Fyi, Gamestop called me today. My 360 is finally in. Going tomorrow to pick it up. I'll have a gamertag for you as soon as I get it all taken care of.
