    Sorry guys. I'm first in line to be adopted by tgm. Mwuhahaha!

    TGM, with my toshiba 26 inch hdtv ($450 after rebate) and 5.1 speakers I bought recently, I'd fit right in right? ^^

      Yes, its true, fc is my adopted son. I am teaching him the ways of the dark side! Got him to buy an awesome new monitor and HDTV! Mwah ha ha ha ha!!! Now we just have to get Steve to move out fc........

      If I ever win the lottery, I'm going to build a huge ranch and invite gamer friends from all over the world to come vacation and game with me! I would like to start a local computer/gaming/lan party business. The area I live in would rake in the $$ but convincing my husband is not working too well. LOL

      Ya, its funny because when we decided to do the room over I promised my hubby that it would be free of computer, video game, anime, dragon, and Harley stuff. Weeeeeeeell....... I bought a glass dragon table, put the LoTR boxes up, bought to dragon wall lights, and.......well.......looks like the plan for a "normal" room just went out the door! LOL I've got all this paint, stain, wallpaper, moulding, etc for a normal room and its going to look so......so.................un-normal! LOL

      Ya a good component stand is hard to come by. I have have one from, oh lord, 20 years ago that I won't give up ever! Now they are usually metal and glass or some cheapie wood board. It's funny because I was just looking for one yesterday and found zip. Metal and glass but thats about it. Darn shame, wood is so much better.

        I was looking around for a new entertainment center a few days ago and saw these:

        $135 $150 $150 $170 $170

        Dunno what your budget is like, but these seem a tad on the expensive side... The $170 ones look interesting tho.

          Thanks fc, I do kinda like the one 2nd from the end. Where did you find these at? (I've also found you have to spend atleast 150-200 bucks to get a halfway decent one.)

                  That's a setup I'd love to have, saving up right now for a LCD or LCOS 40" HDTV. Along with the wireless 5.1 satelite surround sound system. Got it all planned out for the room it's going in, but damn that setup makes mine look so dinky. Guess I should of been trying harder to sweep you up

                    O.O Wow. Very nice....but holy cow! 850? I'd like for the things it holds to be worth more than the stand itself. I may end up either getting one FC showed, another I found on BestBuy's website (should have thought to look there, only went to the store and they didnt have crap). I still havent given up building one. B/w the table saw and drill in the garage I think I could pull one off, though I'll probably talk to my friend about it before I decide anything. May just buy a cheap one until he gets back and can give me a hand.
                    I'll try and get a pic of my current setup tonight. Theres currently just stuff stacked and laying on the ground, but give you an idea of what is going where.

                    EDIT: Also, should I look for a stand that could hold my subwoofer? Or is that a bad idea? It would free up about 12 inches of lateral space, but I've only ever had it directly on the carpet, and don't know if it would be bad to put it on a hard surface (lots of vibrations and such).

                      LOL Macht Don't worry when you get old and moldy you'll have quite the setup too I imagine. My husband really didn't want to do it but I insisted. When my father passed away, I took some money from his estate and went right over hubby's head! LOL Now he isn't complaining ONE BIT! He puts in his movies and cranks up the volume all the time! Then afterwards he laughs about how he don't need to go to the theatre anymore! So in a way this sorta bit me in the butt! The only way I get dinner and a movie anymore is a run to Blockbuster and ordering in pizza!! >.<

                      Now I just need to get a decent rack to put the rest of my systems and components on. Just like Caspian I don't want some pos either but I'm finding that they are rare to come by! Plus it has to be cherry wood with smoked glass like the stand my tv is on. Or maybe I should work on staining the woodwork, painting the walls, putting up the wallpaper, and getting the moulding up before I stick all of this stuff in the room! LOL

                        Nah, b/c then I'd feel worthless and have to go finish staining the swing on the front porch and start working on a GOOD stand. And I just dont have the energy.

                        EDIT: Ok, got a pic of current setup. Still need a component stand and such. Any advice would be appreciated.

                          Ooooh. Right by the fireplace. hehe. I still say that $170 one I posted is cool. After the holidays, I'll be shopping around for something myself I think.
