An HDTV without 16x9 InuTrunks? tisk tisk. lol I love widescreen format. Still, you got a much nicer set up than some people. What's the best high def resolution you can get on that thing though? because 720p and 1080i are both widescreen resolutions.

I can do 1080i, it simulates widescreen for me, but without black bars. My tv converts it to normal.

Just curious, how much did you spend on your tv? I only spent 250$ for a Flat Screen, HDTV.

Well it was considerably more than what you paid, but still a pretty good deal considering the size of my set. It was $899 on sale that week. What's the size of your set though? doesn't look bigger than like 27inch. Mine's a 45 inch, and I'm spoiled, cause I don't wanna play on a smaller set now. lol I mean, $899 sounds expensive compared to $250, but when you think of plasma hdtvs, that are same size as mine, they go for thousands of dollars.

Yea, it's a 27". I wish it was an LCD because the damn TV weighs 200 lbs. Sadly, I'm only on vacation right now and I decided with finals right around the corner that I won't be taking my 360 with me =(

OMFG i had an Adven TV before, it soooo crapped out on me T_T. Then again i was changing the factory settings trying to "fix" it. Those Tv's are good and i wish i still had mine, but its just that the picture is slanted if your plaing games on regular component/composite/s-video and that would irratate the crap out of me. I've got the slant downt o barely noticable but then i tried to go to far and ran out of retrys T_T. Does your tv have that problem InuTrunks? If not when did you get that tv. I bought mine like almost two years ago i believe. I would by another one as a cheap alternative to shelling out 1700 (which is the price of a samsung LCD 32" HDTV screen i want) since Advent has all the hook ups like a HDTV would. The samsung mentioned has HDMI but no PC input (/sucks but you can use s-video just a swell).

LOL Its not even set up right. The room is being redone (hence the stark white walls) and the speakers aren't set up right. But with all this gaming going on, stuff around the house suffers big time! The setup is a 61" HDTV with 6.1 surround sound....when I can finally get it all set up! LOL Straight across from the tv I have an Italian leather chaise lounge to sit in when I game too. I am totally spoiled!! .........but then again after 25 years of marriage I better darn well be!! You'll see, when you all get older and the kids are grown, you'll be able to have the fun stuff too.

Wow thats a GREAT deal for a Toshiba that size! My Sony WEGA 23" was $1200!

Geez TGM, and I liked MY setup. (Especially a fan of the LoTR boxes on either side )
I need to get a component stand for dvd player, video game console (soon to be 360), receiver, and dvr. Once I do I'll post a pic of my setup. Hard to find a good solid component tower. All I can find are full tv stands. I have one of the full size 51" HDTV's with full speakers underneat, so its like 4 feet tall with wheels and all that jazz. Dont feel comfortable trying to hoist it up another 2 or 3 feet off the ground. Speaking of, does anyone know where you can get a good component tower (and I mean good, like solid wood, that particle board crap has to go, I'm almost to the point of spending the 6 months it would take me to build one).

InuTrunks, please answer my question T_T. If the Advent dosent have any problems, i wouldnt mind shelling out $300 right now for a HDTV fix and save up for the real deal later. Ive already eye'd a couple of Flat Panels but the ones under 2GRAND are LCD and i heard those wear out over time (imma do more research on it.) My main goal is a DLP, I saw this 42" Samsung DLP at Best Buy that wanted me to buy it. They had a 56" there but im not spending $3,000 on a tv (i think it came with a sound system too but i dont want all that, just the tv please.)

Ya know, the only problems I've had with the tv are artifacts in it when watching normal coxal tv from my dorm room (When I had it in my apartment (an apartment for students)). When I took it home, it had some artifacts. But when my parents moved to their new house, and they had fresh lines installed thoughout the whole house, along with a signal amp for the internet, I havn't had a single problem with it.

The only thing else, is that because it's a pretty much un known tv company, remote controls are hard to program for it. My DVD player remote would change the TV settings :X.

In the back of my TV I have the following: 2 Svideo, 2 Component, 1 composite. Then on the side, I have a Composite, and a Svideo.

It's quite nice, allows me to have my PS2 monster cable's hooked up (the blue thing ontop the TV). And my xbox, though, sadly, not my DVD player =(.

Which I may give to my parents because they have my TV =( lol.
